This year's CZcams Rewind was very popular and everyone liked it so we decided to make our own Rewind!
The sarcasm is strong in this one ❤️
🔥🔥Oh boy, the roast is real! 🔥🔥
Lol
Whoah Joe, watch out! This burn nearly warmed the planet with another 1.5 degrees.
"and everyone liked it"
you guys seems to love being sarcastic
The real rewind we needed to see this year
yes you
you are right
you are the best
for thinking of that
Meanwhile my country puts activists in jail for putting up a banner...
From which country you are?
This has to be the best way to summarize the climate changes of a year, u think u can do this for next year?
We can do it for next year if you guys keep supporting the channel so we can make more videos :)
@@HotMessPBS sweet!
@@sanketthakuriya5669 Unfortunately many countries will follow suit, I'm afraid
I'll support you when you align with IPCC and support nuclear. I find it sad that you are actively pushing a biased 100% renewable rather than 100% fossil free message. We don't have time to get it wrong.
Betting on 100% renewable is empirically failing already, just look at california, germany, denmark. Then compare to ontario, france, sweden.
Support nuclear now and get real: electricitymap.org
Your assuming there is going to be a next year. Wanna bet society collapses within 2019
I’m am sad that Climate Change is happening and I’m so am hoping we’ll try to survive our selfs and try to use more renewables in 2019.
Did you know that if you use "I'm" you dont need an "am" after it. Wow amazing fact!

The real CZcams rewind.
The one we needed.
Aww, that's hot!
You meant a hot mess
Samuel, mate, the joke went riiiight over your head.

Hi guys, europeans calling here. For ‘us’ (me at least) all these measurements and wheights are quite abstract. It would be really nice if you guys maybe started including more globally common measures like celcius... Keep up the good work, love the content
3% increase in CO2 emissions in 2018, ouch... To put that into perspective, (1.03^24 > 2) so it takes only 24 years to double our emissions at that growth rate. 500 ppm here we come.
Rule of thumb says divide 70 by percent rate increase to find time to double
Rule of thumb says divide 70 by percent rate increase to find time to double
Hallo Wim.
He talking about the challenges of 2018. People from 2020:hahaha
Can you make a video about the effects of buying an electric car? I have heard that it all cancels out because there is used so much gas when making it that it doesn't even help with CO2 levels. Is that true?
Well to manufacture a normal car or electric car you need to have electricity and most manufacturing plants get their electricity from coal fired power plants that gives off tons of co2. The difference is when you're already using it since electric car wont produce co2 when running unlike cars that use internal combustion engine. However when you have to charge an electric car you use the energy supplied by a local power plant and you just have to hope that your electricity provider uses renewable energy. In short it all comes down to power plants.
I recently watched a video about that, here it is: czcams.com/video/6RhtiPefVzM/video.html
There is a range of impact with the electric car play depending on the variables. But if the only thing you do is an electric car play - yes. It's not enough. You have to take a comprehensive approach. More here: czcams.com/video/p4ECGpXvjxY/video.html
We are already working on that video!
@@HotMessPBS Good for you; carry on, guys.
Another, maybe too much of an effort for this channel and better suggested to the IPCC, thing for us hopefuls would be to map the decrease of the growth of CO2 emissions due to the use of "green" power against the increase when nothing were done.
Hoo boy, 2020 is going to blow your mind.
2022 broke new records in global CO2 emissions. Humans. 🙄
Please do this every year
Can’t wait for next year. Really love this channel.
We will support you in the coming years! Thank you for all the videos!
Awesome videos, I share them all the time, keep up the hard work, really helpful stuff
Can we get a similar video for 2019?
We love your channel!
Love this channel.
Thanks for helping me learn more about the climate this year!
Great animations! Love it ;)
Better than youtube rewind 2018 for sure
I just hope the citizens of Pittsburgh are happy.
I absolutely love your videos and I am happy to see a whole channel on global warming
can u pls make a video on plastic as i think it is also a major contributor to the problems we are now facing
Tooo awesome channel.....Keep going plz....
Where's the crack of Antarctica?
It's rewind time!
Looking forward to the 2019 version of this video.
We’re getting there
5:05 and you then have Australia taking gas and fossil fules from Timor leste's waters, drilling for oil in the dangerous, rough waters in the south (because it is a risky place to drill and spillages are more likely to occur that will harm the environmentand will be really hard to fix).
Adani wants to build the worlds largest coal mine in Australia (it would be in Native people's land and it would pollute water ways and water bodies while also producing a lot of pollution).
This is ironic because Australia has many opportunities to use solar, wind and hydro.
So they can live without electricity from fossil fuels and they can do something beneficial,
but the greed of the people in power (rich old dudes who get their power by by having some big company that either rips of us or the environment, for greed and they use the money to bribe people in government or in other places) allows this to happen, just so they can make money now (in the short term),
and when the consequences of their actions really hits, they would of been dead
(in the long term it will cost more because the price of fixing the consequences of fossil fules out waya to money earned from using them instead of renewables).
I think this is corruption because rich people do bad and dirty things to get more money and protect their business which either damage the environment, rip people off, gain power over people's decisions
(this one isn't about climate, but is about corruption, Rupert Murdoch with fox news is the prime exaple, he has billions of dollars and he uses this money to bribe people in parliament (all 3 resent liberals were put in on purpose because they are stupit and brain less, so he uses them like puppets making them make deals with oil, coal and other companies for money, yes he bribed the Government to give 1 billion AUD to Adani, an Indian company known for corruption and human rights violations, discussing), eventhough he isn't qualified to and his decisions are always so bad, similar thing with the bribery happening to make poor decisions that negatively impact the environment, including the climate and people living there.
Edit: Australia has so much potential to do good though!
But we need to stop this corruption and greed for money because it makes the lives of millions of people worser.
Haze Draco Yes, I live in Australia and I'm very disappointed with the lack of action. It's very frustrating.
@@oscarl-b8870 Other than not doing good things, they are doing bad things, 1 billion Australian dollars worth of peoples tax money is give to Adani (an Indian company) to make the world's largest coal mine, destroying The Great Barrer Reef, The Great Artesian Basin and the local environment and is in the native peoples land.
Wait until you get to 2020!
2023
do one for 2019
never missed any hot mess vids🤣😎
Germany hasn‘t decided yet, if they‘re going to ban Diesel/Gasoline Cars in the future.
Interesting video on climate change. Now how about one linking climate change to CO2?
If you cut emissions you also cut masking aerosols which block warming. Emissions went down 5 percent in the last year but warming increased because of this.
3:02 "...and Michael"
it's your birthday today
cake and ice cream is on its way!
Hi. Thank you for your informative videos and listing your references. Please produce a comprehensive "what can you do as an individual to combat climate change" video. I skimmed the Fourth National Climate Assessment report that you mentioned and found that it reported on adjusting to the impending changes not preventative action. I don't feel that recycling, unplugging electronics, and talking about it too everyone I know is enough.
So this show is one of the factors that raise the temperature of earth. 👏👏👏👏👏👏
Should do one for 2019 now, you know, if you love us of course
I just realised 2030 is only 10 years away.
Welp... were screwed. Im moving to mars.
The whole video is sad for me cause you reminded me of the people we lost 😢
But by mentioning Fortnite you have already included it 😢😢😢😢
Hehe, poor little dancing dude.
Wildfires in cali, who could have guessed? In other news, water, is it wet?
OMG NEW ZEALAND IM SO PROUD OF MY COUNTRY
Actually, it's not on the list of en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_banning_fossil_fuel_vehicles
and I also couldn't find another source confirming that.
By the way, I think 2050 like Germany is way to late.
Yanny and the world cup feels like a decade ago. This was a long year.
So basically we have to change our entire way of life to reverse climate change
So much for Tasmania being a climate safe house
Denmark has Said the same about cars.
well the 2018 wild fire record of how many areas are burn is broken by the 2020 record
I am an Inventor and Future energy systems ingineer at Vestas Denmark, the world leader in Wind Turbine clean energy production.
Thanks for making this info videos, we need a lot more focus on our problems at hand, if wind turbines should replace Oil, Coul, and gas, around 15 million 3mw wind turbines should be made to get to net zero by 2050 this tell us, that all has to be done in all clean energy forms, and it has to be done right now...
I live in Ireland and iv heard of no ban on cars
Do you guys have a video covering how science knows climate change is a thing, and also how we know its specifically humans causing it? And if not could you make one? I need to know. People are denying climate change.
I live in Croatia and share these videos to my friends, but nobody cares about the environment in the Balkans.
I was pretty shocked when you said this year was hotter, where i live happened the opposite, it was a really cold year for me at least
its the mean global temperature
I live in Buenos Aires, Argentina. (South America)
Face _ It must be that for sure
@@agme8045 You're just young. According to NOAA, the area around Buenos Aires was warmer than the 1880 to present average every month but May and had a record warm March. The south side of the La Plata estuary across from Buenos Aires had a record warm May while yours was just colder than average. November was "much warmer than" the average November from the mouth of the Amazon all the way across the mouth of the Rio de la Plata, and warmer than average everywhere in South America but one patch in central Bolivia.
Maybe I guess I’m 14 so.. anyway climate this year was crazy, the temperature here can rise to 28 degrees Celsius (pretty hot taking in count the very high humidity) and in the night it starts raining but not like light rain, more like a storm, and the temperatures suddenly fell and the next day it’s cold. This actually happened the day before yesterday, and all the streets got flooded, even 3 subway stations were flooded... according to the news, the hole summer will be like this. 3 days of sun and hot weather and then the temperatures will decrease and it’ll probably rain. But weather forecast was pretty inaccurate this year, so sure that won’t happen. IN CONCLUSION: Even if it wasn’t a hot year (at least for me) CLIMATE CHANGE was the reason for all the weather anomalies. Bye
That's hot..
Isn't there a correlation of human population growing to global warming?
yes more people more carbon given off
Thanos? Is that you?
Well that’s difficult because someone’s carbon footprint in global north counties like the US or Germany residents have footprints hundreds of times larger than people in the global south like countries in central Africa and counties in Eastern Asia
wicked puma 63 you are most likely correct, but the easiest argument against your idea is the old adage: correlation does not equal causation. It’s a crap argument in this case, but it isn’t necessarily wrong enough to be immediately dismissed out of hand. I wish more people would wake up to the reality behind this grave threat to our civilization...
Yes, you hit the nail right on the head. But no government wants to start limiting people having children because young people provide the work force for business and then the tax base for government. So rather than limit the population the plan is to reduce the standard of living for the majority of people. Notice how all of the plans to address the so called crisis of climate change hurt the poor and aid the rich.
Can you make a video about human contribution to the net dimming effects of aerosols and why 1.5 degree target is a joke?
1:15 are we on top of a spike?
"Wildfires are caused by bad forest management. Very baaadd. Finland could do it."
That's hot
At 4:27 I wish that you had not used an image that looks like Lenin with a manifesto. The alt-right already thinks that we are communists.
Better than the actual youtube rewind
This has 9 dislikes lmao
The topic is overwhelming though :(
U see that non fuel cars in Australia what if u go across the hart of Australia u have have sit ther for 3hr it takes me 4 days already to go to my mates place
"this video doesn't include fortnite or k pop"
*Instant like*
Make a rewind video for activism actions like extinction rebellion! Brake the rules
How about agriculture? That sector causes too much damage already and nations aren't really doing much to reduce them
What if you talked about going zero waste?
California has the 5th largest world economy, but is burning continuously it seems. Just imagine if it was not burning.
No fortnite reference, no K-pop and no weird stuffs.
*Aah, that's hot*
Literally hot.
how to rek youtube rewind
we need a new system of distribution to solve this, our current mode of production is not ever going to be sustainable.
Production of what?
3:21 » "... meeting the 1.5° target will require "rapid, far-reaching and unprecedented changes in all aspects of society". That translates to the world cutting our carbon emissions in half by 2030 and reaching net zero around 2050. «
2:26 - I _hate_ to call bullshit on this, but water actually takes up _more_ space than in its liquid state when it's below 0°C (or "freezing point", for all the centigrade disadvantaged out there). Which is why ice _floats_ on water at all. Basically, this anomaly is what enables life of earth in the first place, but who am I to judge...?
So what about all the ice on land? Green land and Antartica
How can I be a physicist if I work more than 8 hours a day as medical doctor and I am 43?? 🤷🏻♂️...
I'm a 36year old plumber that's doing a bos in astronomy and planetary science evenings and weekends. It will take me 6 years to complete but is obviously possible if wanted badly enough.....I'm also a single parent just for extra sag's....
Well! ... 6 years for me it is okay! But as much as I know, first, I need graduation in Physics, with at least 10 years of hard Math.... This is about 7/8 hours per day.... And studying everyday... This is what means for me " if you want badly enough".
:-)
And besides I really like Art, writing and drawning.
What happens for me is that my day is Short!
But I really say thank you for sharing your opinion.

Paradox: This video doesn't contain any Fornite, K-pop or Will smith content.
I SAID NO FORTENITE REFERENCES!
Sooooo, the world is basically a hot mess?
I am an endangered species.
400 ppm is not a 'new record high' - it is not new, it is not a record, and it is not high.
Evidence kid
Water does not expand when it’s warm expands when it’s cold you should’ve learned this in grade 6
Sorry but have you heard about a thing called steam? Water expands both when it freezes due to crystallisation but also when it gets hotter, because that's how it works. Water is at it's densest at 4 degrees celsius (when at atmospheric pressure, the freezing and boiling points change depending on pressure)
But New Zealanders and Danes and Swedes and Israelis and so on fly a lot ,and have elefantian carbon-footprints, no matter how much green they might be. its the richest 20percent who have to change..
you are maybe a small channel but it is the small things that mack areal different
I would prefer governments to give initiatives for developing more cost effective renewable technology instead of banning everything and their dog =/
time to go vegan :P
Iam from oman btw
It's over
So how does donating to you're patron reduce climate change?
We use a portion of our patron support to buy carbon offsets each month!

The patreon money help them make more educational videos about climate change and education is one of, if not *THE* best way to fight climate change.
No mention of cold records or growing glaciers? Isn't that one-sided?
Nimrod that happens in winter, also not sure on the exact stat but for every recent record cold day we get there are around 3 times that in record hot days

@justsomeguy, so you checked it out?
@justsomeguy, you didn't, did you?
gasoline is on the way out
Meanwhile, Mexico's president is investing in two new coal plants. Sigh.
2-3 milimeters higher sea levels aaaaaand.. then you nail it with 1 foot higher ocean in 100 years. Come on, decide if you use metric or.. that other bad way to measure.
About 33 centimeters.
Yanny/Laurel was this year? Seriously?
lol this starts like the pbs spacetime theme... im gona tell pbs spacetime that u stole their intro
i think the ban on internal combustion engine is a mistake. it would be better if you switched to biogas
Why?
From each dollar you put in you combustion engine you're using ≈25% to move and the rest is waste. An electric car turn 98%. Even if that electricity come from fosil fuel plants this plants allow to use efficiency boosters like regeneration so at least 55% of the energy is transformed and is easier to capture the emissions from a single chimney than from hundred of scape tubes.
