I have been into electronic music since 1987, gone to all the club's, been to Ibiza, seen all the DJ's but for me...this is the most perfect piece of electronica ever made..but hell, what do I know.....
You're right mate.
First heard it on 'The Beach' soundtrack years ago and been listening to it ever since!
Some unreal sounds in it wow 👌🏻
Well said.
Listen to more.
I totally agree. These guys they are legendary.
You know something- your soul informed you so xx
This is not a song. It's a spell & it's haunting.
That made me smile :)xx
It has the same effect on me and that comment also made me smile cause I know exactly what you mean ❤️
Amen
100% - its in my blood worked its way into my heart and forms the beats to my life.

I think I’ve listened to this song at least one million times! Just that scene on the movie The Beach is incredible!
Endless!❤️
Originally released on the "The Beach" soundtrack. One of the few Underworld tracks that never made it in their official albums.
karl is a genius, this song is absolutely amazing, pure joy
that 5 and a half minute buildup to the final word "HAPPY".
Totally understand the emotional explosion from Karl at the end.
That guitar rif at 3:17 is magical.
How can people stand still, sitting there.... Damn, i love this song! It's LIFE!
They are mesmerized!
Seated is a different vibe & experience, but its no less valid. TBH, I prefer to be seated when I'm off my face on acid or mushrooms 🤩
I travelled round the world for a year in 2005 with this song on my cd player. It was the soundtrack to the highlight of my life. Hearing a new take on it is brilliant - and makes me want to travel again. Thanks Karl!
Im going to the philippines in march 2020 for a month and this song will be overplayed while im there
Funny i travelled the world that same year and I had this song and Air on my iPod shuffle (it had just come out!). That was my soundtrack! LOL!
I'm 62, (younger than Karl 😂) but when we get out of this damn covid shit I'm going to see them live if it's the last thing I do. 🥰
Let me know when & where. I'll go with you.
Please do they are amazing I’m 50 now saw them back in the day

This song makes me SO HAPPY 🤩
Still amazed at how this song manages to express this feeling we all have when a stranger comes into our life, and shows us how simple it is to be alive. It shows what happens when we are given exactly what we were all longing to have without being aware of it. In this case, simply the need for human touch and connection. Mr Hyde was struck by a genius on that evening and anyone there should feel extremely blessed.
Every song on the Beach soundtrack is great. If you don't have it, get it. Faithless, Leftfield, it goes on and on.
This is definitely in my top 5 underworld songs. It's magical.
murrij My favorite song of all time by any artist...
The Beach gotta have the best soundtrack ever. Pure Shore, Porcelain and this are so fucking gorgeous.
Yep, best movie soundtrack I’ve ever heard!
@@Jddp90 "Porcelain" bro.
Amazing performance of one of my favorite Underworld songs! This would've been worth the entire price of admission to hear live.
I have seen underworld live over 25 times and being at this gig and Karl dropping 8 Ball was truly a gift
Must’ve been amazing hearing that song in such an iconic venue
I cried tears of joy, no shame
Never, ever, gets old. 2017

i had that on 12".im sure it would be quite rare now
love it from the Beach, as magical as Porcelain of Moby.
Hear hear, just as majestic and uplifting as Moby's masterpiece.
If you like this, you’ll love La Femme D’Argent by Air.
I’ve liked this song since I first saw The Beach a hundred years ago. I could probably hear this song every day and still enjoy it. Maybe it’s my favorite song.
One of my favorites! Goosebumps when I discovered it from the Beach😊 This live performance truly magnificant!
Goose bumps at the end.
Underworld makes me feel

"8 Ball" was recorded for the 2000 film "The Beach", and available on the film's soundtrack album, released by London Records in the UK. It also later appeared on the "1992-2002" compilation.
One of the most beautiful out there - such an amazing energy...
this version brings new light to what inspired this song. its spellbinding.
*this* stuff makes me feel ,feel happy. Magnificent

Straight magic from Underworld heaven

The smile on the keyboardist face when him and Karl comes in exactly on beat for that first clap :)
love this song - in my blood worked its way into my heart and forms the beats to my life. How can this not make anyone have a massive smile at the end
Love that, I feel it too ❤
Fell in love with this on the Beach Soundtrack!
The Beach brought me here. Awesome composition and this version is best ever. Guitar riff is superb. The audience are entranced, savouring every delicious morsel of this 24 course menu of sound. Culminating in a lagoon of emotional happiness.
Show me a vaccine that can heal and transform like great music.
Wow- I've only just discovered this gig and version of the song - what a great interpretation.
Goosebumps! I've loved you guys since you captivated my 14 year old mind when "Doot Doot" came out [never mind "Underneath The Radar" later making me sprint to the dance floor at that opening sound.] Your songs are sewn into the fabric of so many silly, stupid, sad, sublime moments that I treasure. Thanks for being awesome and please come back to San Francisco soon!
Sheer delight and never gets old, listened to daily with joy. x
Been one of my fave tracks for such a long time and such a great version nice one Karl!!
Pure perfection. Goose bumps at 3:17 are granted:) I wonder if there is a recording of this event.
of foken' course
Yes, goosebumps and a lump in the throat! Absolute perfection. 🥰🥰🥰
The best bit ☺️
Karl Hyde! This is so beautiful! Thank you,Karl :)
bloody hell, 10:17 in lockdown london and i am already dancing! that s a great sign people! fuck corona!
music from heaven 💎
5:25 the sound of a man who knows he and the whole band was “in the pocket” for that track. The sound of a man who just smashed it. Probably went better than it did in rehearsal.
Such a treat to have been there. Waited 30 years to hear Doot Doot live, so hope you post that and the magnificent version of Dirty Epic.
ohh thank you so much!
Beautiful... and that guitar solo.... heavenly!😊

I would have cried when this was played.
Great track
This version is just perfect
cant believe people are sat down. crazy.
I've always wondered just exactly what the concept of this song is. the story that it tells is equally harrowing and uplifting - it is a great example of the depth and breadth of human experience. It blends the simple joy of being aware, of funny little distractions, while hinting at something much much darker in the setting.. you get an awful feeling that it was a sudden awareness of being that perhaps prevented something awful. And its exactly that which effects me so emotionally - it feels like the song is a celebration of the joy and healing property of being aware. This song more than any other appears to me to be Karl's love song to his way of being - and that's not to say its egotistical, you could say 'love song to presence or awareness' - all of his art comes from raw observation, from his awareness of his surroundings and self in those surroundings, and I more than suspect that at some point he became this way, he became aware, hopefully not - but perhaps because he had to (the subject of the lyric is only 'waiting' for a train after a stranger threw his arms around them - which makes you wonder why he was at the station), and this is his acknowledgement of that. Sometimes it takes a funny little distraction to snap you out of it. And hopefully like the subject of the song, when you become aware, when you focus on your presence, when you have joie de vivre, you'll understand that there is value in just being - and that is a very happy, almost overwhelming realisation.
there is a reason why this song trudges along and ends in euphoria! Thanks Karl for this poetry.
Karl, Rick, please tour the new album in 2016 in Australia and Asia!
excelent!
Genius.
