- In this trip, I take a run at the Holland Track from its starting point in Broomehill, Southwest Wheatbelt Western Australia and find my way through Nyabing, Pingrup, Newdegate and finally on to Hyden where I camp the night ahead of tackling the more well known Hyden to Coolgardie section of the Holland Track.
Stay with me as I find out whether this lesser known section of the Holland Track is worth taking the extra day to explore.
Looked like a fun adventure, thanks for bringing us along for the ride. I am really itching to get out for a bike adventure camping trip. Bloody hard to make plans when we keep getting locked down. Cheers Bazz.
Cheers Bazz. We're fortunate in WA that we're not too badly affected by lockdowns. Finally, our isolation is working in our favour!
Look like your having a little too much fun mate... lol Great video...
Ha! Thanks! The next one should be a ball tearer!
Watching Pt 2 at the moment...when did you do this trip? Muddy mud mud...
Hi Barbara, this was in mid May, so there was a bit of water around. I'd actually done the Hyden to Mt Holland leg two weeks earlier on another trip and there was wayyyy more water this time around.
Red dirt blue sky 4 stroke...doesn't get any better! Love how you have a quiet chuckle at the interesting bits. We all do that I think..this stretch is on my list, the top half was very interesting. Where did you get your little map of the track?
Thanks Barbara, yes it's a great way to spend a few days. I got the map from the Broomehill Shire Office, but it was of limited value. Still, it helped me to know I was roughly going the right way. I also recently posted the second video in this series if you haven't seen it yet. That one is the section of the track between Hyden-Norseman Road and Mt Holland, things are starting to get tricky. The final section will also be up on CZcams soon which was the hardest section. Awesome ride.
ha mate can i ask what front fender are you runing
Sure mate. It's an RMZ copy. You can get them from Adventure Bike Australia. Needs a little fiddling to them to fit but it's not a challenge. HEAPS better than the stock wobbly old thing. Especially with a tool bag on. No longer scraping on the front tyre in the rough stuff.
@@handlebarmonkeymotoadventu4664 thanks mate will sure add one to the next order
Keep us posted with km and litres of fuel mate!
Cheers Brett, the DR650 loaded with camping gear used a touch over 20 litres of fuel over the 320odd ks between Hyden and Coolgardie. That was without any detours and getting lost on the way.
