Aired on the 3rd October 2023 - This video is a replay :)
This 'Build the Change Tuesday' is all about Wild Cities!
This lesson is ideal for PSHE, geography, and careers, and is a fantastic opportunity for students ages 7-14 years old to explore the beauty of urban biodiversity and gain insights into how they can make a difference.
In celebration of Urban October, World Habitat Day, and World Animal Day, this lesson features some extraordinary guests including David Pallash, a conservationist, and sustainability expert from the LEGO Group®, Dr. Ollie Jones, Head of Sustainability North East at Cundall, and Fiona McGain, an Outdoor Learning Officer at the London Wildlife Trust, who all provided valuable insights into the wonders of urban biodiversity and the future of our cities!
Through games and interactions with professionals in the green industry, pupils were able to discover how ecologists, architects, and urban planners collaborate to create cities that are perfect for both humans and nature.
Get your pen and paper ready for the lesson and start collecting bits of recycling or LEGO bricks now so you're prepared to enter our design competition after the lesson!*
    About the competition:
Win prizes in our Wild Cities competition!
We are challenging 7-14-year-olds to reimagine a building or area in a city that is special to them and make it work better for future generations of both humans and nature.
The best two designs will have their work published on The Day and win a host of prizes, from an online workshop with a LEGO® designer and re-wilding installation at your school, to the opportunity to share their designs with leaders in sustainability!
