- Hello! I'm Juls Gomez, a physician from the Philippines. :) In this channel, I wish to share my journey to this road to MD especially to those who aspire to become doctors as well.
Last December 27, 2020 (yes, this is a late upload), I was fortunate enough to interview two-time board topnotcher (NLE 2011 and PLE 2020) Dr. Jomel G. Lapides. He narrated how he prepared for the Physician Licensure Examination (PLE) and shared some tips/strategies as well for future takers. Kuya Jomel is my senior, 2 batches higher way back UP College of Nursing (UPCN) days. He took med at UP College of Medicine (UPCM) and currently doing his residency (Ophthalmology) in PGH.

It's so comforting when Doc Jomel said "There's only one exam that matters (PLE) and regardless of the results, as long as you did your best you will have no regrets". Hello! :) I remember getting a copy of my nmat prior ple, pero upon submission ng reqs hindi naman hinanap :)
Anong advantage meron sa Nursing na lagi silang nag top sa PLE kahit di sila galing Science HS at karamihan nag undergrad sa di kilalang university sa probinsya? Na taasan ni Doc sa PLE yung mga Intarmed na karamihan Pisay Main grad at yung class valedictorian nila sa UPCM na BS Bio Summa Cum Laude sa Diliman na GWA 1.004 at Magna Cum laude sa med.
Siguro dahil may idea and experience na sa patient handling and hospital setting kapag Nursing ang undergrad. Then, sa habits mukhang masipag talaga mag aral si Doc Jomel fr the start kaya no wonder nagtop siya. Just my opinion, I cannot generalize though. :)
