Mainer here, this reminds me of when I used to walk in the woods behind my house when I was younger and there was always this specific patch of the woods that made every nerve in my body stand on end like I was being watched/followed. The rest of the woods felt fine but it was always that one specific spot that it just didn't feel right. also I like the fact the he didn't freak out at first since it's normal to hear weird animals screaming in the woods in Maine but upon it being closer and distinguishably more human was when he started to panic.
as a fellow mainer, we all basically have woods behind our homes. hearing something in the night wouldn't be that bad but when you see something you need to run.
As someone who was born in Maine it's quite interesting to see an analog horror after it, although you won't be scaring me out of my home woods, you definitely put some chills in my spine the next time I go snowmobiling if I happen to think of this lol.
i've lived in maine my whole life (in the belfast area) and i remember one of my favorite radio stations as a kid would randomly play an audio clip that said, "in the woods of maine, a terror has been unleashed" and then just move on as if nothing happened. that terrified me as a naive little child, especially since i lived in an incredibly wooded area, and i used to stay up at night because i'd imagine this weird monster running out of the woods and right up to my bedroom window. it would stare at me for hours and hours and hours, after about a week i just gave up and let it watch me sleep. needless to say... i love a maine-based analog horror piece, and this video was really well done.
Solid work. I will say that 'normal animal, normal animal, [redacted]' feels a bit old hat at this point, but the bit in the woods was pretty good. Good intrigue and mystery and creepiness.
@@Lily-ge4tm i did but I’m ok. I am very mentally stable so no need to worry about me honestly i am 190% fine if you remove the anxiety disorder. Again, i am totally fine so you don’t need to worry about me
@@IMPERIALOZ i live in the south where there are cities and stuff, specifically the narrow band between the ocean and the mountains where it gets very hot and very cold (i have seen it be 103 degrees and as low as -10 if i remember correctly) so what i am saying is if i was in the north i would lock all my windows and doors and shut the blinds. But in the city i look outside and see buildings mostly. If they don’t come into cities i am safe when at home
This was really good. I dig the atmosphere, the tension, the environment overall. My only criticism is that the camera quality could've looked worse, since it was from 1984, and it looks a bit too good for that. Other than that, really good. I'm excited to see where this goes.
tips: use older images. use a vhs effect that messes with the colors of your footage instead of just an overlay. and try to have someone be in the same place as the filmer later in the video instead of just editing it on top.
Agreed, it's a little hard to pretend the footage is old when the actual footage is crisp and only has an overlay of the mess that should be having the image messing up too.
I don't live in Maine, but I do live in New Brunswick (Canadian Province located above Maine). Seeing as we have pretty much the Exact Same Wildlife, it'd be likely we'd have some of those creatures roaming around as well
I like to imagine that the creature is actually the bear from annihilation cause the cries remind of when it make those noise and it cut to a black bear tho I think the beta was a brown or grizzly bear but still it a little head canon to me
This goes from kind of unsettling to 1000% funny when, as a Mainer, you insert the redacted, wailing animal as a Mountain Lion. Which _don't_ exist in Maine. Even when you have video footage of one, chilling out on your porch, don't bother calling the Game Wardens about it because there _isn't_ any Mountain Lions in Maine. And even if there _were_ (which there aren't), it wouldn't be an _eastern_ Mountain Lion, it would be a wandering _western_ Mountain Lion because *There Are No Mountain Lions In The State Of Maine.*
The "[REDACTED]" at 1:12 doesn't make sense since redaction is used retroactively, and this was clearly part of the original text. The form of redaction around 0:50 makes a lot more sense. Other than that, great work and keep it up! Just maybe keep this in mind in the future lol
i know its an analog horror story, but frankly as a mainer a lot of these occurances do happen around where i live, and i know others experience it also. There may be some truth to this video in ways we dont want
I really like these kinds of analog horrors of educational tapes turning out to tell us about creatures we shouldnt know about. Like someone said, a criticism i have is the camera quality is too good for the footage and the font is too modern looking. the frames are a little too stable (vhs distortion will cause more skipping n rewinding/choppy frames rather than sudden cuts ) for the dramatic cuts to make sense but i cant express enough that i enjoyed it. and its making me want to watch the rest of your catalog to see where everything goes after this popped up in my feed. Good luck !!
"mom i want gemini home entertainment"
"we have GHE at home already"
GHE at home:
I love how you got a friend to just wail in the woods for you. 😆 Lots of potential just work on it & you've got it. 👍
One might think that but I actually just used some random wOmen screaming sound effect. Another in the works
Cant even take a walk in the trees in Maine

Yeah, I hear forest/mountain cats and foxes often sound like women screaming.

that black bear was chonky
"There is a.. pine tree, here" solid 👏🏻👏🏻
only in maine 💀
Ah, yes, the -xxxxxx- of course. My favorite animal.
Solid work. I will say that 'normal animal, normal animal, [redacted]' feels a bit old hat at this point, but the bit in the woods was pretty good. Good intrigue and mystery and creepiness.
3:50" black bear"
I live in maine and have GAD, thankfully i live in a city. I am gonna watch this and tell you if i had a panic attack or not.
EDIT: crap.
Did you have a panic attack??? Are you ok???????

"I have been here a while."
The Monster: *makes demonly noises*
"And I am not alone..."
this hits hard, I can confirm that there is always loud screaming in the forest near dusk...
I dont want to go to maine anymore
i love how maine is now getting so clout bc i live there and we get no hype at all.
this looks really good, and i cant wait to see what you do with it!
Just as I was starting to get unnerved, that sudden image of that fatass bear at the end made me laugh so hard

Keeping the ratio is important too

As a Mainer I can confirm we have [REDACTED]
We second that.
Yeah. Last time I was in the woods, it didn’t really do much. But when my friend went into the woods, he never returned.
I love Analog Horror - and being a resident of Maine certainly helps with all this lol.
first time i have seen analog horror that talks about an area that is near me
whoever did the screaming was AMAZING
Maine seems to be a nice place, good work!
Southern Maine resident here. I can confirm this creature does live around here. It won’t do much, just don’t go into the woods at night.
man i cant wait to go take a road trip and see the *void*
Most normal woods in 0hi0
The amount of [REDACTED] in this makes it feel like a [DATA EXPUNGED].
It sort of sounds like Bigfoot was =ahem= making a new "friend", without benefit of lube.
Literally 1984
I don't live in Maine, but I do live in New Brunswick (Canadian Province located above Maine). Seeing as we have pretty much the Exact Same Wildlife, it'd be likely we'd have some of those creatures roaming around as well
man realy went ''aaaAAAAAaaahhh''
You should do the entire USA States each state with analog horror and in the end combine into one
man made a bootleg "weird animals" gemini episode and but a black box over it. either way still good
Went in its own direction
Why do predators of non earthly origin announce themselves?
I like to imagine that the creature is actually the bear from annihilation cause the cries remind of when it make those noise and it cut to a black bear tho I think the beta was a brown or grizzly bear but still it a little head canon to me
I saw the axe and first thought was "he's gonna fight back"
That was a lot of fun. Thanks for sharing. I love the little not to Monument Mythos when you say the next episode will be on state landmarks!

2:10 relax everyone, that was just me
living in southern maine this is genuinely terrifying.
This is really good. I was born and raised in Central Maine, so this hits a specific childhood nerve for me
almost maine be looking different here than in the play
average maine forest walk
You do such a good job!! I like it!❤
this gives me gemini home ent vibes
The forest does indeed fight back, it seems.
Holy shit the absolute size of that bear at the end.
You got real potential bro
Hey cool! It happens the day I was born!
Those animals look adorable
huge fan that this takes place about a half hour north of me
There really are crawlers in these woods
Not great, but at least it IS analog horror, unlike most other videos purported to be.
I love it👏🏼
@8-Bit Ryan needs to reacted to this
for some reason every time i watch this i think the sounds at 3:40 sound like atsushi
this is probably in the to 3 of my fav analog horror videos tho!
Anyone else get to the end and think "that is one fat ass bear"?
Ah so it was a bear..
As a person living in Maine, I can attest that these do happen in here
As a fellow resident, I can also confirm that the [REDACTED] goes around these woods and kills people.

I'm sorry but I was immediately taken out of the experience because I thought the screaming sounded similar to Zach Hadel

Who touched my axe?!
I live near the woods and I’m terrified
Tf going on in Maine
definitely needs one follow up.
Gives me Gemini Entertainment vibes
I must stay in house or outside because there's so many woods in my house
On front
Blair witch vibes. I like it!
mainer here it is the creepiest state in the america.

this is goofy ahh
If you only paid as much attention to your typos as you do to the detail in the video...
Maybe its time to move out of maine 🥰
Hate to brag but feel the need to specify I got 100th subscriber.
