And even if he's rusty at it since they haven't played it in such a long time, that's what practice is for. But if he can play Battery and Disposable Heroes while singing, he can still play Eye of the Beholder.

I miss the re-load era live sound 97-2000. Mid down, bass and treble up is a good sound for Metallica.
I saw em Feb 2, 1997 at the Pyramid in Memphis with Corrosion of Conformity and I've never seen a better concert since.
