Made one today. Used paper surgical, or non allergic tape around all the edges of pockets and sides and then glued floral paper over it. It is absolutely adorable! I'm for sure making more soon! Thank you for the inspiration. Hope your eyes heal quickly. Linda Winchell

Hello Martha. I love This idea. T have girls on my Christmas list who would love to have one of these.
I love brown paper bags but those lovely thick ones are not so easy to find in the UK. I have some that are printed but then that won’t show when they’re collaged over, so I think I’ll just use those because I really want to make one of these! And please remember to go gently and not strain those eyes because the one is still healing!! x
I figured there would be people that might not be able to get the same size bags - that's why I wanted to show how to do it with different sized bags and envelopes! I hope you do try it - it's sort of addicting - but then - what of this craft isn't???? LOL Thanks for joining me. I think I did over-do it a bit today but I was finally having some fun. Can't wait till both eyes are on the same page, LOL. Take care!

When you re-stitch your original bag, you could reinforce the sides with lace or a fabric strip and stitch through that...?

Mrs. Martha🤔 wasn't it the seam that ripped? Why didn't you just reinforced the seams with washi-tape and then sew it? Wouldn't that have strengthen the edges from ripping?

Do you loose your gusset when you slide the reinforcement paper in because it doesn’t have the gusset to match the bag? I hope that makes sense

Cindy, mostly what I used was Antique Paperie on Etsy and the 2 I use (a LOT) are the "Sophia's Garden" and "French Market" papers. I am not sure if she still has those in her current shop, but she also opened a shop with the papers she retired (you can find the link in her original Etsy shop) so they may be there. Thank you for watching and commenting. I hope you find the papers because they are my favorite~ though you could use any paper on this project. Give it a try!

I think this is a cute idea however it would have been so much more helpful to have everything everything already organized before you start the video.
