This is the Wingham Road level crossing at Wingham, New South Wales. Since I last filmed the crossing in June 2020 the Safetran mechanical bell has been replaced by a Western Cullen Hayes mechanical bell.
In March 2021 the town of Wingham was inundated by major flooding which lasted for several days, during this time the railway line was covered by water which caused continual activation of the level crossing. It is likely that this prolonged activation was a contributing factor in the Safetran bell dying so quickly.
The Safetran bell can be seen here in part 2 • Level Crossing Update,...
Part 1 • Level Crossing, Wingha...
Train information:
1st train: NT36 XPT service from Grafton to Sydney.
2nd train: 2WB7 Qube steel service from Port Kembla to Brisbane, with locomotives QL005 and QL007.
Filmed on September 4, 2023.
Great video Michael
Nice video and crossing!
Great video! I see the bell has gone back to a WCH mechanical once again.
Not a black one this time, but it sounds almost like the normal.
Nice video! Shame the safetran mechanical bell here was replaced. Least it wasn't an E Bell that replaced it though.
I kinda like those level crossing
Looks like the Safetran bell is done for, this time for good. At least they replaced it with a new WCH m-bell.
The Safetran bell actually sounded better when it was here compared to Taree, but guess the floods finished it off.
Yo MCK&H, wanna collab?
@@McKHAust Yeah, it sure did.
Try do Murray bridge or Adelaide crossing next please
Great video! Amazing that the signal masts still exist from original condition
Thanks :)
Do Urunga's one dammit!
Also whats the point of having a one track sign on a railway crossing there, they should take it off!
