I just traded in my Honda Odyssey van for the Acura MDX. I love it so far but my van had fog lights and I’m a little disappointed my Acura MDX doesn’t.
I have the 2022 Tech package and its the exact same! The only thing i dont like is you have to buy the remote start on the app and not free on the key!
All i want to see is Acura put a v8 engine or a twin turbo engine in the MDX for 2025 that's all I got to say still 👍 good reviews
I would like touchscreen infotainment system
1) the vehicles gas only there’s no hybrid option
2) a 23 Highlander platinum is more luxurious with the largest screen and more power. The four-cylinder turbo gets 43 more pound feet of torque.
3) the Highlander platinum top-of-the-line is almost $10,000 less expensive
4) Highlander has rear air vents
Very appealing vehicle with the exception of two things: piano black plastic that gets scratched up, and the track pad for the infotainment display. That's all I have to complain about to be honest. Thank you for your review 🙂
Need to add ac vents for 3rd row and need coat hanger/hook in the rear cargo area for jackets or dry cleaning. Also, fix interior door material so that door doesn’t scuffs so easily. Otherwise great car.
I have a 2022 MDX and love it. I wish they would make some changes to the gas and brake pedals. They are so close to each other and my foot slips and I hit the wrong pedal. A camera needs to be in the front also, I love the backup camera. I have the technology package . I’ll say one more thing they could change and this car would be perfect air vents for the back row. That would about do it👍❤️👍😜
I weep when I learn 3rd row has no vents
My picks for the next overhaul would be.
1. Air vents for the 3rd row.
2. Upgrade all USB ports to USB-C or provide both type-A & C.
3. Make hybrid/plug-in versions for this luxury SUV(not sure why Acura didn’t do it yet, especially if you are competing with the likes of BMW-X5)
4. Modify the infotainment and provide a larger screen.
5. Provide more ambient lighting options.
First 3 are Must Haves and the rest are Good to Haves.
You sound like a news anchorman. Great video as usual, by the way.
I have a 2013 RDX and I hope this will be my next car... The newer RDX seems smaller to me and that's why I want the MDX - I love the style of it and I never had a problem with my RDX - I love Acura.... Can't wait.... Great through review - thanks
Improvements I would like to see on any upcoming 4th generation refresh or next generation features.
1) Ability in vehicle settings to choose between engine stop/restart being engaged by default (requiring the driver to manually disable that function if desired) or being passively deactivated by default (requiring the driver to manually activate that feature).
2) Have a rear view mirror that can be set to operate as a rear window view camera in the event that the rear window view is obstructed by cargo or 2nd and/or 3rd row passengers.
3) A retractable or flippable cover on the wireless charging pad to prevent sun glare that can affect the drivers vision and also prevent the device from being ejected from the charging pad in the event of sudden vehicle movement or a vehicle crash.
4) The ability to go into vehicle settings to disable the smart key fob feature to prevent a car thief from being able to perform a relay attack by boosting the RFID signal emitted from the key fob to a handheld held device that is held within 3 feet of the vehicle, tricking the vehicle into thinking the actual key fob is within 3 feet of the vehicle. That would allow the car thief to unlock and start the vehicle and be able to steal it and drive it until the vehicle is shut off. They would also be able to program a new key fob as long as the vehicle is still running.
My friend had the prior generation with the mild hybrid. I’m not sure why they did away with it, other than possibly the towing capability.
I have a 2016 RDX technology package pearl white in perfect (garage kept) condition. Everything still works and the car is still factory tight all over!
My wife wants a MDX (keeping my RDX) . We are looking at a slightly used one.
I haven’t put a wrench on my RDX ( with regular maintenance) with 85,000 miles now on it.
I LOVE the V-6 in a world of turbo, lawnmower engine car engines.
VERY, VERY happy with my Acura!
Also…..the little chrome adds a taste of luxury in a world of all black everything cars.
I have raced for Honda and Acura SCCA. The 4 cylinder with turbo (lawn mower car engines is no exaggeration lol I do appreciate at least a V6 engine) is much like racing my civic in my class of stock engine modified suspension--not much power. You feel like Fred Flintstone who can't move his feet fast enough to get the power you need. I have always had an Acura or Honda (back when they got 55mpg and the wait list to buy one was 6 months to a year) and I am finally looking at the MDX for my next car since my Acura is 23 years old and still runs great!
Tom, since you've driven the MDX Type S as well as this regular 3.5L MDX, what do you think about the ride and handling of this steel spring suspension vs the adaptive air suspension is the Type S? I value your opinion a lot because of your alter ego as a race car driver (not that you'd be likely to pick a crossover for your favorite street car 🙂)
piano black overload
Hello, Tom. Thanks for reviewing this beautiful vehicle, with all those excellent options. I must say, though, the price is quite a bit much for my pauperish wallet. I will stay with my old Honda, but will admire the Acura, even if from afar. 🤔
Hi Darren! That is not a bad choice at all. Thank you for taking the time to watch! I hope you have a great weekend.
@@VehicleVisionary I have been exceedingly happy with my Honda Accords. An SUV is more vehicle than I need.
@@darrene.mathews5566 my dad has a 2018 Honda accord, he almost bought a 2022 Honda HR-V after we got it as rental car when he had bad tire rotors.
🎉 My New Car
Pretty car. But that chocolate interior seat color looks fake and cheap. Wonder if looks better with tan or black interior
Touch screen infotainment.
I got the mdx tech package last year. Very soft brakes and bad fuel economy. It’s not a well refined car
Acura/ Honda needs 1) get rid of the horrible trackpad 2) get rid of the piano black trim 3) get rid of the timing belt and put in a timing chain, I mean it is 2024 already, update the engine
Track pad is actually extremely easy to use. I don’t get all the whining over it.
@@LA-zc9rg that is your opinion and you know what they say about opinions. Well, it seems like Honda agrees with those who are “wining”. They are putting in the touchscreen
@@EvilM3yeah alot of 😂tiny a$$ touchscreens screens in plenty of the new Honda’s. The big a$$ pilot has a 9” screen … enjoy. It looks pathetic. Again unless you’re a complete spazz the touchscreen is an excellent & functional device. No fingerprints, no reaching, no distraction. Like I said it’s about as simple as can be✌️ 7:25
Still No hybrid !!
Dont buy t brakes wear out fast
Also check for whining/ whistling transmission before buying. This is a constant sound starting at 30 mph. It is sad that owners of 22/23 have to listen to this whine. Acura says it is normal and did not disclose it prior to selling them
Nah, can't pass that stupid touch pad. Other than that quite decent looking car.
The same exact car for 3 fucking years in a row. Literally the same car? Are they serious?
Get rid of the touchpad and get a touchscreen. Until Acura does this, their cars won't be on my purchase list.
Hell no lol, the interior is a HOT MESS
My kinda interior...I love the cockpit look with buttons and the ability to lean back and work that touchpad like James T Kirk on the bridge of the Enterprise. I guess that's why there is variety😂
I have 23 tech, and it's ok, but for the money, it should have a few more features
I think it is better to have all the features on the first model year than adding features incrementally each year. Make you not regret buying the first one.
