No celery? Gosh, you ARE edgy!!! LOL
You should make a vegan breakfast sandwich like McDonalds sells. Bacon, egg & cheese biscuit or an egg & cheese McGriddle!
Tex-Mex enchiladas? With homemade gravy, using corn tortillas and an interesting filling? I'll watch either way though, thanks for all your hard work!
White lasagna!
My 11 year old made this lasagna last night. She followed it on the blog and watched the video and made the whole thing by herself. It was to die for!! She says: 'Thank you so much for this recipe! I put two cups of vegan cheese because I'm crazy. We loved it' xo
Ah this melts my heart!
And she did it again last night!!! OMG This recipe doesn't get old ! It's better every time she does it!
> vegan lasagna
> no cashews
Candice out here doing the lord's work again
Girl, mise en place is to have everything prepped to cook so you did have that going on but mirepoix is what you wanted to say for the carrot onion and (usually) celery mix for the sauce. Still, this looks yummy and I am down to try to make this!!!
Thatâs what I meant!!!! Lol damnit!
Lol thank you!! I was trying to think of a nice way to say this, it was driving me crazy!! :)
I was wondering why this French expression was used for here ! now I understand !! but I didn't know what "Mirepoix" means, it seems to be a base for soup and ragout....
@@stephanien5815 You can google it! It is a way of browning vegetables to make them sweater and bring out more flavour and originally it was used to make them better for using in a sauce.
In Italian it's called soffritto. Same thing, but usually for Italian dishes you'd not use the French name.
Mise-en-place just means everything in its place. That's having everything chopped and ready to go before you start the actual cooking process. I think you may be confusing it with mirepoix which is a carrot, celery, and onion mix :)
The most traditional lasagna recipe on youtube for lasagna... And I come from Bologna!
In my opinion, thoug, the meat sauce was a tad too thick!
Thinner sauce means more layers!!! - Traditionally it should have 7 layers of pasta inside!
Amina so would it be less of the meat to make it a thinner consistency?
@@emmabirkey5560 Nope! I would have added water with the bouillon cube... In order to have it less "dry"!
I've made this so many times since I've lost count
Since? It was just yesterday
; )
What brand of vegan parm was that?
Trigger warning at 5:03 if you don't like metal scraping noises
the cornstarch box in the back after the bechamel suddenly gets thicker lol
Cheap Lazy Vegan has a really good tofu ricotta recipe. Its a good dip as well. Itâs versatile. You can tweak it in different ways.
This recipe was waaaaay better!
I love this recipe, Iâll definitely try it out! But I have a tip for all of you other cheap people out there. I am Italian and one of the best ways to make vegan bolognese sauce/ragu is tvp! Tvp is so cheap if you buy in bulk or big bags and is so rich in protein!
Plus, I have never seen anyone in Italy use both garlic and onions in the same (Italian recipe).
One way I would make the sauce (which is been approved by many meat eating Italian friends) is as follows:
- chop onions, celery and carrots
-sautee in oil
- then add dry tvp and roast for a few seconds
- add a splash of white or red wine and cook until the alcohol evaporates completely
- then add the tomato sauce (preferably tomato passata)
- add lots and lots of basil! And some salt
-cook for a while
- these two final steps are optional but are amazing and will really up your vegan sauce game! Add a bit of nooch and a bit a of miso paste! The miso paste will add some umami flavour typical of a âmeatâ sauce and the nooch will just make it better because it is lowkey vegan crack!!
ooh thank you, I will try that recipe! Do you use fresh basil or dried?
maddie I use fresh basil!!
What is TVP?
Also, that is quite shocking what you said about onion and garlic! Itâs one of my favorite combos of flavors because they go together so very well (I love sautĂ©eing them up and then mixing in scrambled egg and cheese, for example - yum).
Yum! I love the glasses too. Definitely my style as well! âšâđ»
This looks so delicious đđ I canât wait to try!!
Omg!!!!! That looks sooooo goood!!! I am totally making this. And it looks so much easier than the others Iâve seen!!!!!!!

Looks delicious!
Absolutely loving this video!!
Yo this looks sooooo delicious!!! I have to make this!
Omg. I gotta make this for Chrismas dinner this year!!!!
I will. Collecting recipes for Thanksgiving. Thanks for sharing.
I just made a bechamel sauce that was similar to this one and another vegan CZcamsr's recipe. It was the first time I made vegan lasagna, or any lasagna. It was also the first time I used a bechamel sauce, it was so good on the lasagna! I don't really care for straight up vegan cheese most of the time, so this was perfect! I didn't use a recipe for my sauce and vegan meat, but I used the recipe from this channel for tofu ricotta, with a few tweaks. I also made the lasagna noodles from scratch. I'm not fully vegan, but I've been really into these types of vegan CZcams channels and trying to make vegan dishes whenever possible. I normally don't even cook, but it's been fun trying to make vegan versions of classics like lasagna and Mac and cheese (I highly recommend Tabitha Brown's recipe cuz it's so good!)
Love this channel! Thanks for the delicious recipes and great videos :)
Omg. I wanted to wait summer finished to do this kind of food. I want it now.
Everyone loves my vegan lasagna! It's such a classic dish that everyone loves
I made this lasagna tonight. It was amazing! My son is definitely not vegan loved it! Of course I did too!
Food always looks amazing but Iâm usually here just to watch your beautiful soul cook and have fun :)
Thank you so much! I loved the recipe. I modified it a bit since I'm stuck at home. I found in my pantry pushed all the way to the back quinoa flour hahah and oat milk instead of soymilk.
Just made this, I skipped making my own sauce and used store bought and added red peppers I needed to use up. It was very yummy. My whole family loved it. It looks, smells and tastes very much like the lasagna we grew up making. Thanks again Candace!
OMFG love this. One question, why are there always so many people in your house? Haha
Another bomb ass recipe!! I'm making this nowđ€
Rest In Peace is right!!! Omg this Lasagne!! The bĂ©chamel sauce is a GAME CHANGER!! â„ïžâ„ïž thanks for sharing this goodness đđ»đđ»đđ»
Looks great.
I can die happy. An amazing vegan lasagna recipe.|
I'm making this for Thanksgiving.
OMG... THIS . WAS . AMAZING
This looks amazing. I like vegan recipes that utilize replacement products and stay as close to the traditional method as possible. Iâm very lucky to have access to some amazing vegan products. Hopefully that access is increasing worldwide!
Yuuuuuuuuuuuummmmmmmmmm! Nice job!
avantgardevegan makes the best epic vegan lasagna ever! i tried yours today, meat sauce was way too thick, but it was good. You did a pretty good job .
That looks perfecto!!!
Your videos lately have been my favorite to watch!!! This is now on my list to try making. Looking bomb.com
So happy you're loving them!
I love rubber spatulas. so satisfying
Liked this before I started watching because lasagna is everything.
I get anxiety when they point shot haphazardly. You did amazing sweetie đđ
That looks delicious! What kind of vegan cheese did you use?
Great recipe framewodk. I made mine with 1 beyond beef burger patty and 3 beyond beef sausages with minced mushroom and garlic, the texture and spices got more boost. Also i added shredded vegan mozzarella over each layer of white sauce, made with cashew cream, basil chiffonade, and nooch to the beshamel,. Also added minced onion, bell pepper, and zucchini to the meat bolognese. This felt super hearty to prep, divide, and store {6+ POUNDS) in an aluminum disposable baking oven tray! a convenience must have rotated recipe for me for sure as a vegan.
You are The BEST!!!
That was a slick swipe job with your rubber spatula.
YOUR HAIR LOOKS SO FRICKIN CUTE!
I can't stop singing Love Shack. You look like you could be dancing in that music video in that dress.
I know what Iâm making for dinner this weekend!
a bay leave in the béchamel gives a really great flavour :)
Great job.. I make a fantastic Vegan Lasagna.. It to die for.
Your hair lo so pretty! !
I've been looking for a good dairy free lasagna, yum! thank
I will make this in september for fall. Looks amazing, especially for my non vegan bf. If i had to request a recipe it be something summery to get that last bit of summer food wise. Idk what.
Tour hair looks so pretty! !
Its almost 11 at night here and now I want lasagna haha
Gotta try this and gaz lasagna
I don't know if you want kids, but as a mom - You cooking skills are amazing and if you had been my mom I would never of eaten meat!
If I had money like Beyonce I would hire you as a personal chef. All the best to you.
Could you veganize beef liver and onions? Iâve seen a recipe that uses lion mushroom, but Iâm not sure where to buy whole (and not powdered) lion mushrooms.
It is even good when you leave out the cheese completely from the bechamel sauce and just add a little on top once you finished building it up. I even like it without any cheese.
Oh. My. Gawd. YUMMMMM! âđđ»đ„
can you do a vegan strawberry shortcake? with like whipped cream and white cake :D maybe even a custard filling? if that's not asking too much lol
Can u make some Indian/Egyptian dishes. I've been craving tzatziki sauce
What type of veggie ground round is your go to?
Iâm going to make this for my sisters birthday. Did anyone make this? Any tips you came across? :)
Looks delicious. I wish I was not a lazy slop in the kitchen.
Oh, i'm not first, but i like this channel!
Nom... I don't know what to eat tomorrow...maybe lasagna :D
Oh yeahhh đ this used to be my fave meal. I've never had a decent tasting one that's vegan. I can't wait to make this đ thank youuu đđđ±
love it!! i recommend getting a whisk with silicone on the ends for those metal pans đ„ș itâs so awful on the ears
Try adding a couple of teaspoons of sugar to the sauce next time; cuts the acidity and brings out the flavours! xx
I use a couple of dates to cut down the acidity... :-)
She didn't mention it but her recipe does include that
Would love to see how you make croissants!! I only saw your " Vergiss nie deine Heimat" tattoo today. Lustiger Zufall, dass hoere ich von meiner Tante die ganze Zeit, seit ich nach America ausgewandert bin! :)
Mary's Test Vegan Kitchen has put out an amazing croissant recipe!
definitely at least doubling to freeze for later. đŻ
Please tell me what type of veggie ground round you used! Iâm not a fan of the beyond beef crumbles
I LOVE Yves!
I didnât realize at first that you were wearing a black apron. I thought it was a skirt and was thinking âoh thatâs such a cute outfit!â
You should try making strawberry tarts.
Can you make Vegan Mozzarella Corndogs!?
Can you tell me what is ground round?
It is vegan ground beef. The brands I usually use in Canada and Yves
You look so incredibly beautiful in this video đ„ I canât wait to try this recipe!
looks yummy but that whisk in the pot....ouch my ears
Is there a recipe for the vegan beef?
Isn't celery, carrot and onion called mirepoix?
Can Quorn be used for meat substitute?
Any meatless grounds, it can be any brand.
Lasagna doesn't have bechamel. Greek pastisio does though. I do my lasagna with zucchini instead of "meat." It's delicious with tofu ricotta.
đ ahhh yes, yes it does. You do realize there are multiple versions of lasagna depending on what area of Italy is making it, right? And what North Americans make is an Americanized version of lasagna. Here is some essential reading on lasagna : www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/WPcap/2000-02/16/001r-021600-idx.html
From which company is your vegan cheese? I live in Germany and have not really found good tasting vegan cheese. The parmasan is what interests me.
It was Follow your heart grated Parmesan
I just had vegan lasagna my uncle made it but I will make yours and compare it to my uncles!
What brand of vegan parm is the best
Violife!
@@haylaebay great thanks I'll try it!!
whats veggie ground round???
Lish I know this is a week late. But itâs âvegetable crumblesâ basically a vegan substitute for ground beef.
We just shared our quick & healthy lasagna version on our channel đ Thank you so much for inspiring us, @Edgy Vegđ
What brand of veggie ground round and parm do you use? I haven't found one that I'm in love with.
Jennifer DeLuca I really LOVE the vio life Parmesan cheese block, followed closely by follow your heart Parmesan shreds.
@@melissabereading I kind of the Follow Your Heart. I usually add a bit of garlic powder and salt to make it more realistic but haven't tried Violife
Jennifer DeLuca really? I think the FYH is realistic, but violife is legit! I personally donât like salty foods though
@@melissabereading me too, that's why I add to FYH. It's close.
@@melissabereading follow your heart parm is ABSOLUTE GARBAGE. I do like the violife one though, that's pretty good.
Ok. I've never screwed up one of your recipes before but I somehow managed with this one. The "meat" came out fine but the bechamel never thickened. I added vegan parm, nutritional yeast and a tablespoon of corn starch but it never thickened sufficiently. Now, in the interest of full disclosure, I did use almond milk instead of soy. Could that be where I went wrong? Thanks.
novicetech1 most likely, soy milk is a more stable milk option and wonât breakdown the same way as almond!
I used almond instead of soy too, because I already had it in the fridge.. I did read the comments on her post on the website about adding the cornstarch/water mixture but it still didn't really thicken up the way it's supposed to. Next time I will definitely use soy milk!
why is it called veggie ground round? like what does the round refer to?
but this looks bomb canât wait to make it
Laura Klein âvegetable crumblesâ vegan substitute for ground beef
Hannah Baish But Iâm just wondering what âroundâ refers to. I know what ground beef and veggie ground is
Laura Klein Iâm assuming itâs the shape since it looks similar to small pebble size pieces. Or maybe itâs a Canadian thing? Lol
