I know this is an older video but I just want to thank you. I keep running into mods with incomplete install constructions. Mainly they give you where to put the Carcols and the carvariations.meta stuff but leave out where the rest go like the ytd files and such. They also leave out what to do with the ELS stuff. Its pretty frustrating when you are going in blind trying to get something to work and this video really helped me out. I wish I could give you more thumbs up than just one.

This is for anyone getting instant game crashes after following the tutorial to a T , and not having to waste endless hours pulling out police vehicles to find the culprit that was crashing your game. In my instance and I think the vast majority of crashes is down to a simple error. I found out that it was the Fire truck ELS file---if you look at it--it is misspelled as FIRETRUK. When I corrected it to FIRETRUCK...My game stopped crashing and actually loaded into the game. I really hope this helps anyone who had the same problem as me. 👍👍
Close, but not quite.
The file is meant to be called Firetruk, its just how it's spelt in game. I assume, however, you didn't read the note below the Firetruk download link. There is a pinned comment with the correct els file to download. The default one is corrupt and crashes the game. By renaming it like you did it doesn't try and load the file, hence it doesn't crash. The trucks lights wouldn't work though.

Awesome tutorial, Although I seem to have got something wrong, my mods folder ONLY has the most recent patchday in there as opposed all all the levels from "update" onwards?
When replacing the normal cars in the patchday i only have like 5 fragment cars compared to you who has many more can i fix this or can i still somehow fit all the cars in
A slow process but it's worth it in the end!
I installed ELS but nothing pops up when I load into LSPDFR, i dont know if i downloaded it wrong but theres nothing about it in my game. Is there a certain way to activate the mod?
I followed the instructions for removing the blacked out windows but the car in the park ranger slot still has blacked out windows I think it's the land rover discovery but I have tried a different car and that also still has blacked out windows?
I did everything right and it works, but now my uk outfits i did last video are broken? Me and other peds are wearing broken outfits with my Accessories from online wtf.

On normal files it says select an app to open this dlc file and im stuck idk what to do and what if my cars don't have an xml file?
Since my comment on your last tutorial I've watched, I've had to re-install GTA and every thing else. It gets confusing on what cars need to be renamed to what after you speed the video up, are the names of the downloads the names that they need to be in the files?
What they get named is listed in the description. But thats just the recommendation for it to work with the Santos Constabulary pack.
Hey so I have the lspd legacy pack and did everything right but the els is not working and I have no number pad so
BRUH my els work now but if im close to the car the ELS aint bright its js a dim colour but if I go further away it is bright

This tutorial was made prior to the latest GTA5 update which added two more police cars; the Stanier, and the Gauntlet. All the rest should be new though

Dodo, when im in los santos, i continuelly get jeeps with weapons spawn and thier is infinite!
i dont know why however, for me the vehicles didnt load up, i followed your video step by step, but yet they didnt load up, i still have the vanilla ones.
is there more to adding the police bike and riot van, because i cant see any in the garage, patrolling or responding?
Not many backup units use the bike or riot van. That's maybe why you don't see them. As for the garade, its a straight replace, so if it was avaliable for the division before then it should still be there
It doesnt leme drag n drop or copy paste the files to replace the old vehicles even in editting mode it makes my mouse that red thing that doesnt leme drag and drop
Try moving the files to desktop or a different folder first. Sometimes OpenIV doesn't like things coming direct from zip files. Also make sure you don't have selected items in OpenIV highlighted. It doesn't like that either
can anyone help when i try to do the sprinter riot van the text is blue and i cant change the name
When I try to download the files off of Union mods they won’t download does anyone know how to fix this?
Hi, in the ELS folder > pack default, there is not a Police.xml in there? Any tips?
A lot of vehicle downloads will include one. You can rename it to Police.
I've turned on edit mode and also followed everything required, although when I try to move the vehicle files into it, I can't? What do I need to do for it to work?
Try moving the files to a desktop folder first.
What app are you using to open the files? Every time I open the file it doesn’t say .exe at the end? Please could you help?

In theory yes. I personally have a set ELS.xml that I copy and paste for each new car. Some cars however, have specific setups which the author will usually provide a dedicated xml file for.
why is the RIOT and fire truck coming up on word in a different language and not a file
How do you install new sirens?
I'm getting a problem where not all the police cars are actually replaced only like a third of all the police cars and I still get LSPD cars roaming around the city do you have a fix because its bugging me how if I call for backup half the police cars of from the original game and the other half the the UK police cars.
The dlc packs haven't changed in any update, so the installation method hasn't changed. If you're still getting base GTA police cars, then you haven't done it correctly.

Great tutorial, however im unsure how to fix the sirens as they arent flashing they are just solid colours, whats the fix for this?

Thank you for your recent replay,. Ok so I have installed the UK cars and ELS. To start with the game wouldn't load, I believe this is due to a broken xml file, having read that if I rename the ELS folder to _ELS it suggests one of the xml is broken. This works, however the lights on my cars are not working. Any ideas appreciated.
It'll be the Firetruck xml. There is a pinned comment on the download page for the new kne which isn't broken

Make sure the els texts are all lowercase and copy the cars files exactly

What do you mean updates for the car? New stuff gets made all the time, so you can use whatever you like as long as you call it the right thing

You probably missed creating a Mods folder in Tutorial 3
So ScriptHookV dont let me Launch the Game, is this something to do with the newer updates?
Yes, the latest game update requires a new ScriptHookV

Try dragging to desktop first. Sometimes OpenIV doesn't like zip files.

You might not have set up your mlds folder right. I covered it in the third video of this series about installing Peds

How do I know what to rename the file? The files I downloaded are named differently to those you have downloaded? Fantastic videos, im just lost with the renaming....

I found that the fire ELS was causing my game to crash and one of the bmw els didnt work, please watch out for this anybody using the els dodo used, however after fixing it works great
I left a note in the description saying to make sure to use the updated firetruk xml. Its bugged

Edit: removed the ELS plugin file and it still crashed.
Reinstalled RPH and it worked just going to reinstall ELS

got els working, had custom environmental lighting script and that was the cause

Just wondering, does it matter if the .yft and .xml files are in different cases? like SHERIFF1 and sheriff2 or do they all have to be a certain case?

I think thats to do with the xml files for the car? Not too sure. There is a mod on LCPDFR.com called 'Better ELS Reflections', you could always try that.
My country does not have all the police cars so alot of the ai police cars are still american, How do i fix that?
What country are you needing cars for?

I have no idea how or why that would happen. Its not something I can resolve, unfortunately. You can try finding alternative cars on other websites. The install process would be the same.

Yes, you can install addon vehicles to have as many as you want (in theory)

Same process can be used for any vehicle
So all my mods have loaded up but the lights on some vehicles dont work and after 5mins the game crashes?🤔followed the tutorial carefully and repeated the steps in case but i dont know!
Make sure all the vehicles have an xml file in pack_default with the same name as the model.
@@DodoMcGeeLSPDFR yep everything is all the same. I also checked some of the xml files on notepad the extra 1,2,3,4 some of them say true and some of them say false?

@@DodoMcGeeLSPDFR Hi Dodo McGee, still having the same issue, lights not working and I still have to click the 'E' button to turn on blues and sirens, I have to hold the 'E' button to change the sirens each time
@GOOD GAME it sounds like ELS hasn't been installed properly. Other than that, its very hard to troubleshoot via CZcams. If you haven't already joined, we have a modding section in my Fiscord server where you can get some better support.
Hey I have installed all the cars but my game keeps crashing mid way through the loading screen in the game. I've asked many people why and they don't know why. It only happend when I downloaded your ELS and that and added the cars.
Sounds like either you haven't installed the heap/packfile adjuster, or have a corrupted ELS xml file. Try renaming your ELS folder to _ELS and try loading. If it works, then one of your xmls is corrupted.

Move the files to desktop if you haven't already. Sometimes, RAR files don't let you change stuff.

If you are downloading an arv how do you make sure it’s in the arv department not traffic?
The vehicles in this video are chosen based on how they would suit the Santos Constabulary pack installee in video 4 of the series. It can be set up manually, but its easier with the pack
Do you do it the same manually or different?
@Tom Beall manually, you'll need to familiarise yourself with editing the Ultimate Backup xml files

Did you watch the 2nd video of the series for installing Peds? That has a section on how to properly create a mods folder

@jakeking7456 if you only have the two folders and no dlc packs, you haven't created a mods folder correctly
@@DodoMcGeeLSPDFRThats strange as the mods id added (British UUP / Uniforms, and the ectra callouts have been added fine)
@jakeking7456 they'll still work, but you're missing the majority of the other bits you need for modding
Love your videos,and i find your tutorials really helpful. However after following your instructions for installing the vehicles some are not loading in and I'm stuck with the default los Santos police cars and also the fire truck is still the default. Any ideas anyone ?
Edit: i have fixed this i didn't have the correct patchday folders . All these cars are now in but i still have 3 original los Santos cars how do i replace these 3 specifically making sure not to replace the ones i have just added?

Game was running fine without ELS lights working. Installed latest version of ScriptHookV then it keeps crashing during loading now, with Packfile limit adjuster and heap adjuster.
I just deleted ScriptHookV and now the game loads in with ELS lights still frozen. Something dosen't like ScriptHook and I can't figure it out.

What's the ELS XML name for the police ford hatchback?
As I copied it in but the lights don't work properly
The name will be the same as the name as the vehicle model files, wherever you installed it.

I followed everything in your video but my ELS isn’t working as it should be.
The light bars and some blue and white lights are on when i’m in a car. When i activate the sirene, the lights don’t flash.
I’ve read the comments but i can’t find a good answer to help me.
It sounds like the ELS itself isn't working. Try looking in your els.log and asiloader.log

Sometimes OpenIV doesn't let you drag files from zip files. Drag it onto your desktop first.

Sounds like the els files haven't been added in properly. Is it all vehicle's or just one?

I'd suggest looking on the lspdfr website and gta5 mods. For British stuff, Unikn Mods is the place to go.
I also have a whole mods list avaliable on my Discord with all the vehicles I use.
Do you know why my files are on Microsoft edge?
Probably to do with what you have you default to. Right click the file and look for 'open with' to change it

Its the main GTA5 file. If you don't have it you'll need to verify your game files (via Steam or similar)
@@DodoMcGeeLSPDFR I’ve just tried to verify the files via steam and it says there being incorrectly invalidated, have you any idea why?

I installed the cars and they work fine but the ELS doesnt work on them and i did everything in the video.
When you say the ELS doesn't work, what exactly is happening?
@@DodoMcGeeLSPDFR The lights they dont move. They just stand still and not the whole lightbar is on only a quarter of the light bar is on.

My Game is loading up, but on the Home Screen its crashing. any idea.

@@DodoMcGeeLSPDFR I do beleive I do, but now it's concerning me, as the the GTA V crashes even on Story mode. so a little concerning as to what could be the issue. I may have to Delete the Mods Folder, and try again lol!
@@DodoMcGeeLSPDFR I mean this was done in October so I’m following the steps however on the patachday 27 there’s now a 28 out. And I do recall you saying something about 27 being the only updated one at the time you was doing your video. So would I need to perhaps place everything in the patchday28?
@Jordan try renaming the mods folder to _Mods and run it like that. If it loads fine then we know its the mods list.
There shouldn't be an issue between using 27 or 28, as I don't think any of the Emergency vehicles were updated.
Have you installed the gameconfig, packfile adjuster etc.
