Tammie Brown and RuPaul having met before Drag Race reeeally explains "I don't see you walking children out in nature" lmaooo
Right. Like how TF would SHE know what Ru does on off hours?
I love how factual Raja is when she talks about her life and experiences. She doesn't pretend to be overly humble, apologise for being great or shy away from talking about people but she also isn't stuck up her own ass. Will always be my favourite drag race winner. ❤
Absolutely!
Agreed
She just confirmed what was obvious all along. Yara Sofia should have won that season. But no matter how ground breaking she was, Ru was gonna ALWAYS choose his friend.
@@adanmaoriaku 👀💅
@@adanmaoriakuYara? Sorry. No.
we love roger
It's Raja. Respect her
Oh Roger 👽 😂
@@marlo5040 we love and respect roger dw
@@marlo5040that’s not even her name to disrespect her 😂
Yes we do
In 1994 I was a 17-year old kid on vacation at Disneyland and I met a guy who worked as a barback at a gay club called OZZ in Buena Park (which Raja sometimes performed at). Me being impetuous me, a week after meeting the guy I had left my Oregon home and moved in with him (almost-30 years later we're still friends!) Anyway, the reason I'm taking this trip down memory lane is just to say the first ever paying job I had (since I had high school theatre experience) was running the spotlight for the Sunday night drag show at OZZ and, yep, that included Raja's numbers. I remember there also being queens such as Glamoura, Montanna, and Shadonna. The relationship and my time at OZZ didn't last more than a year, but god was it a great way to grow up. She's on point about the club kid scene, too-it was so awesome to witness and feel like I was a small little part of. Gosh, even now I'm getting sappy and sentimental.
Wow, it seems like a wonderful year and a dear memory! Thank you for sharing, it’s so precious! The relationship, the time and place - how that all clicked together, huh? Amazing!! 🎉
Thank you for sharing your experiences❤❤❤ raja is one of my favorites on Drag Race!!
I would definitely buy this book if Raja decided to write it. Looking forward to it ❤
Same!
Raja is everything I expect in a drag queen. She's also not fake, and will point something out when she see's BS. She's true to herself.
A cultural ethnography written by Raja Gemini would have a wide appeal, and an academic value. That era needs as much documentation as we can remember, lol
fr queer culture is underdocumented and this is our chance to change that
I have a photo wearing an oversized sequined blazer which Ru handed down to Raja and Raja gifted to a drag performer friend of mine. I helped her backstage at a drag benefit show and she told me the history behind it and let me try it on. I always took her word for it because she was one of Raja's drag children, but this story on Exposed solidified it for me, officially.
so cool
Does it have the face of Jesus on it? Cause then you know it’s real for sure.
@@Starscooterkart When I heard "Ru-me-downs" my ears perked up so hard. It was a full circle moment I'll be telling my imaginary grandchildren.
@@bodelaire6395 No face, and the photo is even blurry, but it shines with an aethereal glow that even the Pope would say its sanctified.
🤣@@XTaitoX
Raja definitely needs to write a book. I bet they have some of the greatest stories. They've already shared so many great stories
A book by Raja??? Um, YESSSSSSSSS!!!!!
I will love to read Raja's book, she is full of knowledge and information about the drag history in Southern California. One of the most underrated winners of Drag Race ❤
She has so much self confidence, I wish I could exude this level of self love
God - a Raja memoir of sorts would be incredible - but I reckon she should do some kind of photo documentary coffee table book with stories laced into it ❤❤❤❤
I’m 48 and used to go to Oz in Buena Park and Raja used to run around the club looking fabulous. It was an 18+up club.
I was introduced to drag race through a CZcams and that's where I first saw drag queens and I just love Raja...I'm a big fan and I watch every one of them....UK Mexico etc...thank you RuPaul for introducing drag to the masses❤
I fucking love when Raja wears this hairstyle and gets all dolled up she looks gorgeous
Living in Louisville, KY in the late 90's we had Connections. Connections had an amazing Drag Theater. I started going when I was 15 sneaking through the kitchen. I loved drag from day 1. I was lucky...
I remember connections ! It was epic
From the moment Raja walked into the werkroom I have been obsessed. Artistry off the charts. Elegant. Exotic. Wild and sophisticated at the same time. A true icon.
I would buy this book. I am very interested in the history of drag from the 1950s on as told by those who experienced it.
Wow!!! LEGENDARY interview of icons in our community!! Great job Shep!! 👏🏼 ❤🎉
I would love for Raja to write a book. She’s always been one of my favorite queens and she is soooo interesting. 🥰
This is such a great Interview.
I love this interview!!!
THANK YOU for actually being able to interview these queens rather than cutting them off every other fucking minute to make a quote-unquote funny remark
I would def pay for her book! Get to writing Raja! ❤🎉
Yes Raja please write a book! I would buy it in a minute!
2:50 DO IT DO IT DO IT!!! We need this book fr - also the audiobook in your delicious voice
Thank you Raja for the stories, good times
omg YES to the book! I would love to read it
Oh we definitely need a book
I would be the first in line for that book! Sounds fascinating.
congrats on 100k 🥰
This was lovely❤
This is such a gem! Where are documentaries about West Coast drag scene circa 90s and early 2000?
Raja was ROBBBBBBED on AS7 😢
raja is def one of my all time favorite queens. so well-spoken, confident, & honest! ❤️
Hello dear Joseph,
Just wanted to ask where can I watch the full interviews ? Will you upload them on CZcams ? Like you always did before with Exposed,Sissy That Talk and Queening Out?
( I don’t have OUTTV)
Much love from your biggest fan from Croatia 🇭🇷
xO xO Edo
same here! im from Brasil and I have no ideia how to watch this 😭
Love them so much ❣️
Omg Raja please write a book!!! I would read it in a heartbeat!!!
She is my Queen of all Queens. I got to meet Raja at the PHX Art museum and she was so chill, and encouraging. Plus seeing her walk a runway was epic!
I remember when drag race first aired I used to watch it late at night, and if anybody walked in the room I’d change the channel really fast. Almost as if I was watching something bad. Oh how the times have changed!
Yes. La Puente! I just moved here 6 months ago... great city
Raja will forever be my favorite Drag Queen 🥰
yesss!!! i love mi tio rogelio so talented and a legendary fashion icon!!! 🤩🥰🥰
Roger...
WRITE A BOOK!!!
PLEASE? ❤❤❤
So "looking good feeling gorgeous" is Thory Thor inspo for her catch phrase "Looking Good Feeling THORGEOUS" nowwww!...6:28
Raja, Raven, Delta Work, Anetra, &, Bianca Delrio are my olympic all stars team! Raja was why I got into drag. That’s right, I said Raja instead of RuPaul bc a humble diva will always outshine the one making all the racket. Sorry I luhyoo Runi just ain’t about to start lying now lol 😂❤❤
Thank you raja for giving ru his flowers.
Full episode please ❤
I would LOVE a book from raja.
I watch any video of Raja!
Not David Dalrymple gurrrl flashbax
I would love to listen to her all day 🤩
Ron Athey 🖤✨
Wonder if Raja remembers Club Ozz in Buena Park. Omg I remember club 7969.
Definitely, I will buy the book interesting
Raja is iconic, I love to hear her!
Knowing that Ru used to hangout in clubs, even visited Bob in NYC to see her…she is taking her own show to have her “club” at tv. That’s why she gets so exited with performers like Jorgeous, Marina Summers, etc
Raja!!! ❤❤❤❤❤
Would love to see a conversation with RAJA and RuPaul. TWO MONUMENTAL PIONEERS of the culture
Love love love Raja ❤
I DONT EVEN READ BUT ID BUY THAT BOOK
rajaku 👑!! i’m indonesian & have adhd too, severely that i didn’t work for most of 2 years ago, still recovering from burnout which is like motivation slowly creeping on. it’s so great to have raja explain their work ethic being affected by adhd as i feel seen & relieved that it wouldn’t have calmed down by my 20’s. im now way in my 20’s but raja will always be my favourite 🎉 so thank you for the representation terima kasih sayang 😢❤
I could listen to Raja for hours. The interviewer is pitch-perfect too.
I have so much respect for this human.
When’s the full video?
Wasn’t Bianca also chosen to be on the show by Ru? I could be wrong. But that’s such like a high honor when you’re that good without drag race that drag race reaches out to you to be on it.
Ru called Raja; Kathy Najimi called Ru about Bob.
Drag brunch absolutely existed before 2009. I'm not even into that scene and I remember drag brunches being a thing in denver since waay back
I lived for 7969. Partied there in the 90s and met the most beautiful queens ❤
I ly Raja ❤ forever
Ive been following this beautiful creatures career for most of my life, still the first queen i think of when i think of a drag race winner. Write the fucking book Raja its your responsibility to share your story when you are a part of literal history
And after Mother Ru... There came Aunty Raja
What happened to 2:59? Lol that was weird
Editing 😂😂😂
Honey… you should totally write a book.
Raja has great memory. I'll have what she's having.
The Gemini icon ♊️❤️
i was like 13 or 14 and had these young uncles in their early 20s who had moved to cali from london. one was gay but both were super into clubs and dancing and going out. they got me my first fake id and took me to all of these clubs and drag shows. i went to peanuts so many times, i could draw it for you. we went to a lot of pop up clubs in crazy locations that wer mainly put on my christian farrow.... i think that's how you spell his name. there's one song video of him singing should i should i love you... the clubs i remember were louis louis and there was a party we went to in a large warehouse, but i can't rmember what the name was. im a straight cis woman but i have always loved this community. had so so much fun. i remember project x... that zine with all the la club kids. there was a roller skate party i think. i didn;t go to those parties but i saw the photos in their zines. i love hearing raja talk about it bc of all that history and actually understanding what i was witnessing. raja is such an amazing story teller. the book would be SICK!
i really would love to hear more about kiwi (idek if that's how you spell it) but i heard she was an amazing trans queen
I remember when Tigerheat was at 7969
Id read the book
Whether it be in print or a recording like this, we need to document our history before it's lost. The ONE archives or a similar organization should really do a sit down with Raja and any other girls still around from the early 90s-early 2000s and record anything and everything they have to say. They're the legendary roots of the queer universe of today, and right now it seems like the memory is only being preserved by a few random people's recollections.
During Club Fuck years it was the Dragonfly Club!
my memories of the L.A. scene in the late 60's>earlr 70's was very few performance bars but several "drag" bars. Mostly pretty seedy drag, trans, outsider type clientele. I have fond memories of those times. Many of the "girls" were pretty rough, cuz survival was rough, but with great heart.
Ugh, Raja my queen ❤❤❤
Wow she didn't have to audition. 😮
That’s so dope I’d love to hear raja on a podcast
😂😂❤❤
We went to the clubs to meet our people and community. It’s where we could express ourselves. There was really not many other options to meet and be queer.
Anyone know how long Tammi has been doing Drag?
I LOVE Raja. So beautiful, extraordinary and a pleasure to watch. I think she is one of the most graceful personalities in the RuPaul universe.
My favorite queen
I’d totally buy Rodger’s book
Wft was that at 2:58 ???
Raja should just hire a co-writer and get it done
Joseph coming for Maddy's gig. Noted.
But in all seriousness, we need more quality interviews. Not just the pink fluffy fan-clacking ones.
I know there a lot of reasons to not like RuPaul, but I like hearing these human-izing stories pre-drag race. Giving them all her outfits was so sweet
America's next top model was my first exposure to Raja ❤
It's true, there was a burgeoning scene in L.A. in the 90's. I'm surprised I don't remember Raja at 'Peanuts'. I practically lived there!
Raja did my favorite era of drag !
Imagine receiving that trash bag and being excited that Ru gave you some stuff to perform, to only see in 30 years her star 💫 would rise to even greater heights and you know have national treasure
I've been a fan since she was a fabulous make up artist on ANTM that's when she went by Sutan
