Tomac was supposed to win the 2017 and 2023 championship. Because of this, i believe the AMA will coordinate an event to allow him to win the 2024 championship. They will instruct Jett and Honda to have a "mechanical" failure around round 12, handing the points lead to mr tomac.

Its still early to say if Jett has it on lock. Anything can happen. Last year, both of the top two points leaders (webb & tomac) were injured a week apart from eachother leaving sexton the red plate. 450 riders were dropping like flies towards the end of the season & similar things could happen this year.

But lets get real here people because I am sick of people saying Tomac is not at 100% one minute then saying after he wins a race in the triple crown or a heat race win that Beast mode is back??
    Which one is it??????
Because I've never heard in any interview he has done that he himself has said he isnt 100% or the bikes not working.
Just face it the games changed and Jett has bought a new pace and craft to the table.

Tomac is probably not 100%, but not far off what he was last year. Take out Jett and he is still very close in points, is beating Chase and Cooper Roczen etc who did not have those big injuries and are still the top guys. In fact Roczen arguably best form in a while coming off the speed of last year. Jett is just the next step in the evolution of the sport and we need to accept it and enjoy the show till people catch up instead of spreading all this unwarranted hate all the time

It’s a young man’s sport, the most physically demanding there is you could argue. Yet, it hurts, I hurt for Eli. @@doglover136_ true, of course it’s possible. I just don’t think he can match Jett’s speed. It’s his last season and he’s racing the next Jeremy McGrath basically. Jett will dominate for years I imagine. Eli in his prime definitely could have raced him but I imagine his body can’t keep up, plus with age comes caution, Eli isn’t willing to take the risks necessary to win. And I don’t blame him, that big crash he had in Anaheim 1 last super road season, plus his last injury took the do or die out of him. Again, I don’t blame him. I don't see ET getting near Jet for SX and I don't see ET even competing in MX as he knows he will be smoked 22 times in a row. Once he sees the SX title is gone he will even fall off the podium, (but wait he is already off the podium), as most veterans in the sports world mostly retire a year or two too late and lose a lot of their shine in doing so. He is not thinking about SMX either as he knows he can't beat Jett there, so adios dude, happy retirement. Jet is the most talented rider ever and that includes the now seemingly lost Deegie boy. I also like how professional Tom Vialle is. (NO comments allowed from all ya haters)

Eli Tomac has the speed, I take him at his word when he says he will let us know when he is done. He sat out an entire outdoor season and had to come back to the intensity level that these guys are bringing. I wouldn’t doubt Tomac, Jett still has a lot to learn. It’s not hard in this sport to get a DNF and my money is on Webb for the consistency and finding the red plate even though Tomac has been my guy since Ryan Villopoto retired

It is because the field is so stacked! Watching him live at Daytona he was hauling ass and the week before he came all the way through the pack.

Also Jett was not a factor last year.

I beleive Jett Lawrence is going to continue his winning ways. What ever it is that helps him get speed, he has figured it out. Nobody else has figured it out, not even Ricky Carmicheal has figured it out when he is commentating on the air. So, I think he is better than everyone else because of his experience. When he was in Europe, the Lawrences HAD to win, their family sold everything for them to do what they do now. As far as Tomac, he is getting old. When I raced, 27 years old, I felt the difference compared to when I was 22.

Tomac has had a stellar career but in my view I can’t ever see him getting back to where he was prior to receiving the Achilles injury, (which is a shame) he has shown once or twice) flashes of brilliance but he A/ doesn’t have the outright speed he once had, Jett has consistently been considerably faster both in qualifying & race speed, B/ doesn’t have the consistency he once had and C/ doesn’t have the willingness to take the bigger risks (like hitting the quad) he used to do regularly and D/ he doesn’t have the time to develop the things he’s missing.

Why state “he will retire”, mate that’s a load of rubish. He’s still yet to reach his best again, most would skip a whole season. You reference his injury is a reason he’s slow to get back to his best, you forget prior to the injury no one could touch him. That’s just over a year ago. Top riders like tomac don’t just fall off their game permanently, he’s yet to get back to his best. Then you say rubish about him retiring in 2022. He never said he would retire, the media did. He had run his journey with Kawasaki and needed a change, that it. Has nothing to do with money or just showing up. A number of top riders have made the switch to different teams, it’s a way to keep the passion flowing and improve. I feel your comments are disrespectful to the champ. If he does ride in 2025, `I hope you will retract your comments and speculation, cause none of it is factual

The man just had an incredible injury that no one comes back from as fast as he did at the level he’s competing at. its always those negative people that get all quiet when Eli does what Eli does best, and thats win. theres absolutely no way Eli retires without a championship, this competition motivates him. look at the 2 week break. everyone else is probably enjoying themselves and surfing, fishing, golfing. Eli was hardcore testing and riding and came back swinging. these people come after Eli for coming back after a crazy injury. be grateful he came back when he did bc he could of never came back or he could of waited another year bc of how intense that injury is

Sad to see Tomac not at his best if he was at his best and getting beat I would not feel so bad but I hate to see someone as fast as he always was struggling with speed especially would like to see 100% Tomac leave Jett in the dust. As far as Jett. It would be very tough to be in Jett’s situation and have all the expectations (not as to win the races) but how to act and the fans. I don’t honestly know if it is how good he is bc or what but maybe it seeing some of the greats like Tomac , Kenny, getting older and knowing soon they will be gone. I just love seeing Jett lose. He will mature and not say dumb things I just don’t think he gives the respect to the older guys like he should and I would like to see Hunter start besting little brother sometimes. The only possible scenario where I see Jett losing this championship (and it’s a reach honestly unfortunately as I’m a fan of this rider I’m gonna mention) if sexton catches a second wind of speed and confidence the rest of this series. Ken has the speed but is to inconsistent. Eli isn’t himself at the moment rightfully so it takes a lot to recover from that much time off the bike, Coop is a dog but doesn’t have the top end speed to compete and really threaten Jett race to race. Sexton is the only dude who has the top end speed consistently enough when he’s in stride. Hell last week he had the fastest time of all the heats. But beyond sexton getting his mojo back, it’s Jett’s championship to lose.

I'm a Tomac fan through and through, but from what i have seen, he isnt quite the beast he was in 22' or pre injury 23'. At his age, i don't see him returning to that form. Even if he did, it wouldnt last long, and i still don't know that it would be enough to beat Jett. I could see him posdibly winning the sx title if he were in that form, but i can also see him losing to Jett. It would be close i think. Outdoors, the pre injury Tomac would give Jett some hell and even beat Jett on certain tracks with a good start, but i still think Jett would win more races and take the outdoor title. As a Tomac fan i hate to say these things, but he's tapering off i believe, and Jett is simply too much for anyone. Hes also super young and only gonna get better. Barring an injury, Jett will win the title in sx or mx for God only knows how long.
