Thanks for the explanation! Could you please give a link or explain the code you used to construct the specaccum graph in R?

Thank you for the explanation. It really helped me understand how to go about with my current task at hand.
Actually, I am working to design a sampling plan based on the pilot data. Considering many traps set at various sites, I was wondering if you could suggest me on how to use these two variables as efforts. Does it mean you will have to plot an accumulation curve for all the sites or could I do it collectively as they are at the same park for which the study is being carried out. Thank you for your time.

Sonam Rigzin Glad you liked the video and thanks for commenting. If I understand it correctly, the answer to your question depends on what you’re trying to find out. If you want to compare species richness or the speed at which new species are discovered between your sampling sites then you need to think about analysing the data for each site separately. If you are only interested in understanding the biodiversity in the park as a whole then you could probably combine the data from all of your locations. Hope this is helpful!

Thank you, that made it a lot clearer now. :)

    ....
Can we do the same analysis for a single species instead of community ..?
Could you please help me with this ...

If you want to estimate population sizes there are related techniques based on mark-recapture techniques (Have a look at Bill Sutherland's book on Ecological Census Techniques) but that's the only thing I can think of that's similar but for a single species only.
