    Esdeath's timestop "freezes" time and Gray had a resistence to cold so there is an argument to be made that he would just not be affected by it, except there was also a character in Akame ga Kill that had an ice resist and could do it for a bit, key word being "a bit", he still was affected by it so what they're saying it should still mostly work. I hope this makes sense lmao.
    Oh, and also the ending was basically "Gray cats Lost Iced Shell > Esdeath freezes time > Gray starts to resist time freeze > Esdeath simply throws her ice sword-arm, killing him since he's basically defensless while casting it"

    Goro x Machamp is my favourite DB they made so far. I really hope you like it Ris.
    I also think it is not necessary to take all the info in at once. If you miss stuff during the beginning analysis, than you missed it. In my opinion it is totally fine to gauge the combatants by what you managed to remember.

    Here's a fact, despite all evidence that proves Gray should be able to eat ice, he's never actually done it in the series.

    Okay, here's what happened at the end - Gray summoned ice sawblades to close in on Esdeath, so she used one to lop her ice arm into him.

      @BigNoseEntmt Před 2 lety +2

      Oh shit, I always thought she swang her arm so hard her ice forearm detached itself. When the Ice Sawblades appeared, I didn't see any of them appearing right in front of Esdeath, so it didn't and still doesn't make sense.

    For your information Dean, 1 Petatonne is equivalent to 1000000 Gigatonnes. A Gigaton is equivalent to 1000 Megatons.
    50 Megatons is the largest known yield of the biggest nuke in the world; Tsar Bomba.
    So nearly a hundred Petatonnes would be more than enough to eradicate a whole continent in one go.
    Too bad Wiz and Boomstick never broke down the differences in yield between the two cause it’ll leave many people confused.

    Goro vs Machamp is a really good one, it should be up your alley imo.
    Maybe the drop in quality 3D fights in general in because torian isn’t working on them anymore, so they have a bit of a different feel.
    Another great video

    Going into this fight, I had a feeling Esdeath was going to win like as I had mentioned last week, she's a sadistic monster especially in her series but what I had learned from this one is that there's a huge difference between resistances and immunities like the former is that you can resist it for a bit like it will still damage you but not too much but in the latter's case, it just means it can't effect ya at all and going back to Weiss VS Mitsuru and how Mitsuru just canceled out Weiss' ice attacks as the former takes no damage from ice attacks but takes a lot of damage from fire attacks unless you gave Mitsuru some gear that is fire resistance to lower that damage.
    Anyway, I really enjoyed this one and I do hope we get more Akame Ga Kill characters in the future but next time with Goro and Machamp, prepare for the first 3D fight of Season 7 as these four fists or in this case, eight fists will be flying next week.

    I have very complicated feelings towards this episode. I liked it when it first came out but then started to accept some criticisms against it over time. I'd say I still like it overall, but there was missed potential for sure. The first half of the fight doesn't play on the character dynamic very well. Gray didn't have any moments to really use strategy or creativity to catch Esdeath off guard, and Esdeath doesn't stick to her sadistic, slow, cold death mentality she goes into for most fights. I like the sword fight in the second half, Gray resisting the time stop was a pretty cool moment, and the continental storm had a nice impact with the music cutting out and sound effect. If the fight just took its time with some apsects and played on the actual characters more this could've been a really good episode.
    The animation can be stiff, but there are some nice bits that are pretty smooth. Like you said, Esdeath's walking looked pretty good. In general I liked the facial animations, except for Esdeath's face during the kill move, and the song "Lost Ice Storms" is so f***ing good.
    For other aspects of the fight, I did go into the fight thinking Gray was going to win, my key issue being not really thinking about how even with the fact that Esdeath's power was divided by like 3 as it took a couple days (and this is lowballing it too as that's assuming she used literally all of her power each day when that's probably not the case but we have no way to gauge how much she used each day exactly). But the other thing that made me think Gray had it was that they emphasized Erza moving at mach 20,000 or something which was way more than what they put for Esdeath's scaling. I figured with that speed edge he'd get off his moves first, could eat and manipulate Esdeath's ice, and his ice reistance could deal with the time freeze. I think the post-analysis covered all of these points adaquately enough, but I still wish they didn't emphasize Erza's speed when a box in the corner at the end made it seem like a stretch that Gray could scale to it. The pre-analysis is fine, it didn't make me laugh out loud or anything but the writing covered Esdeath well enough and I got a good handle on Gray's character, story, and abilities.

    You can tell by how fast and sudden Gray was resorting to Lost Ice Shell, that the fight was originally supposed to be longer.
    Time and budget restrictions are doing some Death Battles no favor.😢

  • @lyconxero457
    @lyconxero457 Před 2 lety +3

    It seems like more often than not as of late the winner of these fights is almost entirely decided by whoever wields the biggest stick or has the most powerful output. Logically speaking, all other things being roughly equal, this makes sense as having 1500 times more power would and should be a huge deciding factor. With that being the case, I don't see in what realm of reality that Goro is supposed to win against Machamp. Mind you, my knowledge of Mortal Kombat mostly comes from the games (and sadly the movies) but the fact that Goro could be defeated by a human right off is a huge strike against him. You couple this with the fact that Machamp has some CRAZY power in the Pokemon world to the point that I believe that unless i'm missing something HUGE in Goro's lore he would likely be one shot by a strong punch from a Machamp because the power difference is going to be pretty insane.

    12:44 I know this is a bitter memory to bring up (and I'm sorry for typing this), but that explains a lot with how you got so many negative replies when you didn't understand how Mitsuru was able to defeat Weiss. And it didn't help you showed some bitterness towards Persona by calling a game mechanic dumb.
