Thank you Mri4ko for your kind remark about our dear departed friend, Larry DeBari. We who knew him and played music with him miss him dearly since his untimely departure. We are so glad that his genius is being appreciated by people like you! Larry did not make any attempt to recreate anything that came before. He simply interpreted music his own way. For that reason, there are those who love what he did with BS&T. And there are those who dislike what he did. We fully understand this…but again, thank you so much!

Yes, that is the general concensus. I was influenced to play the sax and have my own band, by Fred whom my father grew up with in Parkchester Bronx. BST actually jammed in our Bronx apartment several times in approx. 1967. All that said, I do think DCT is a very talented vocalist/performer but he was the undoing of the original BST.

Absolutely great band an I'm sad they will never be the same. One show was at the California State Fair and they mentioned that they had just played in Poland at a Jazz Festival 48 hours prior to the Fair gig... and as if that weren't enough were headed to Germany for another gig in 48 hours. Amazing that they didn't cancel the State Fair gig considering.

We are so happy that you are enjoying Larry DeBari, licksnkicks. In truth, Larry is the major reason why these videos were uploaded in the first place. Check out 3:05 to 3:14 and see a little of the FUNNY SIDE of Larry DeBari. Then at 3:28 to 3:32, his amp suddenly cuts out. He steps back out of camera view, does a FLYING DROP KICK on the amp; and it comes back on. He gets back in place and continues playing without missing a beat. From my point of view ( behind the drums ) it was AMAZING!

There is really no comparing Larry to anyone. He's in a league of his own. Some of his techniques are absolutely mind blowing. Larry has really made an impact on me. You can plainly see that he plays with his heart and soul and he's not somebody just up there playing on stage. I have listened to this particular video almost daily since I found it and I am always hearing something new in the way this musician plays his guitar. Could you imagine Larry playing with Eddie V Halen.

Those were the days. Artists performed LIVE and left every ounce of their being on the stage. Nowadays nobody really does it the way these men did it. It's all dubbed, lip-synched. All of today's major "stars" do it.
I remember some years ago when Beyonce, at a basketball game, came down from above. You could hear her singing even though she wasn't holding a mike. When she reached the ground she has handed one and she continued singing. There was no change in the sound whatsoever. Amazing!!
