TC, one of my favorite contemporary novelists!! Few writers can penetrate the anguished schisms of modernity (animal rights, environmental despoiling) like he does. For TC lovers, two of my favorite novels of his are "Drop City" and more recently "When the Killing's Done" set in the Channel Islands off the coast of Santa Barbara. His short story anthologies also rock. Let's hope he carries on for years to come.
