Just what I was looking for! Am in the process of buying our first BTL which is this set up. Was getting a little confused! - I understand Share of Freehold isn't the same as Commonhold? But is similar? Is the Tenure listed as "Leasehold" for purposes of mortgage companies/solicitors asking?
Have just been asked to become a director of my freehold company and wanted to learn more about it (and how it differs from a management company). Super helpful and clear, thank you!
South Africa got rid of leasehold in the 80s and we have sectional titles and body corps to deal with shared responsibilities. Why is the UK so far behind?
thanks for this, very helpful for flats in London (more affordable for FTB vs. freehold houses), would you recommend share of freehold over leasehold? also would you recommend looking for something in the city or outskirts (due to pandemic related shifts), finally do you prefer 3 beds to 2 beds from cash flow and sellability perspective?

Hi Lauren, it’s a question I ask myself every time a solicitor asks me to print, wet sign and post a document.
Because we have MPs who are landlords
