This "soprano role" is quite often sung by mezzos including Troyanos, Simionato, Bumbry, Zajick and of course the tremendous Cossotto here whose performance has never been bettered.
Cecchele è qualcosa di SUBLIME! Un Turiddu perfetto! Sia vocalmente che nel recitare!

Il Turiddu e la Santuzza che preferisco. Sempre un brivido ascoltarli.

Such a natural Turiddu, Cecchele is. Absolutely the best Turiddu.

Clean but expressive singing. Wonderful. Two beautifully focused voices. Cossotto is breathtakingly wonderful.

I love this version. I have both DVD versions,
but I think Fiorenza Cossotto is much better
in this one.
