I just bought a electric bike. It is sitting in a box in front of me waiting for my son to put together. I was watching that and thinking how many talented people we have here in America that could put these together. I searched a long time before I picked my bike. They have kits that you can get for around $300 and up, then get a bike for parts, with a wheel chair & welder. There is a market for it. Someone could make a lot of money.
Is there an adaption for the tires? Those thin tires (standard wheel chair tires) aren't wide enough for gravel or mud. I really like the idea though! this is brilliant.
I would like to know who made the Motorized Wheelchair for the Movie "Silver Bullet" and or who has it today and how many were made for the Movie or if one even exists today.
As someone realizing that my days of walking on my own, which as already been years longer than the Dr.'s expected, and I'm having to find a wheelchair, this concept has given me hope, that instead of even less time out of my home, I might be able to have a life that I can't at this time. Please tell me how I can have one built here in america, I know people with skills who with plans can help me...would they like to branch out?
strngink Rio Mobility sells a unit called the firefly and they are based in San Francisco, I bought the manual hand cycle version and had a lot of use out of it when I was in Canada, but where I am now with hilly terrain and no sidewalks I don't get out on it any more. I may need something like this too. I am looking at greenpowerr.com who have a similar unit.

the wheelchair tires won't cut it,he has bike type tires on the wheelchair.Most of these adaptions and they're are a lot,are far too costly.Everybody associates medical with money,insurance companies don't pay for items like this and most people injured in midlife have little in the way of saving's,disposable income.They have to be affordable,most are way to costly

I have a power trike front connection with the handlebars that I have for sale if you're interested please send me a message I live in Florida but I'm sure that it can be shipped it is electric battery operated it still has the plastic on the handle bars

You can see a wheelchair users life change, but don't say that is your goal. Your goal is PROFIT. Otherwise you would give them away and sell just enough to make your money back. It's a business. Right?

I have a three wheeler Palmer five speed and electric increases up to 41 mi an hour I love it can't go wrong with it

Late in commenting but why not just have an electric trike? The cost to electrify is minimal. I have one.
