It helps you generate design briefs so you can practice by creating personal projects. I would also look at other creative's portfolio sites and see how they present their work and then create your own project and attempt to present it in your way. I hope that helps!

Can I have a question regarding font modifications? How do you know if it is allowed to modify a font? Question nr2: How do you decide to use a free font or one that you need to buy? Who is buying the licence then you or the customer? I would love to know more about this topic. :)
Hii! I love this soo much. It is so well put together. I've been searching for something like this for a while now. But ive got a couple of questions especially at the budgeting for a project. What do you mean by "visual language" and strategy in "branding and strategy"??? ❤
Hi, great question! When we create a brand, there are a lot of different aspects that can be included depending on what the client needs. Everything from logo design to messaging style and website design.
Since the logo is only part of the visual brand identity but many clients see it as the only part, we make sure to clarify that they will receive both a logo design and a full visual language (all the assets that define the rest of the visual brand - like colours, fonts, illustration style, photography style, icon design, layout etc.).
The strategy part is based on the research we do before we start. We look at competitors, the customers and where there are gaps in the market. This helps inform how their brand can stand apart, both visually and from a messaging perspective. Sometimes it even informs which customers they should focus on. Since it is a big job and has a lot of value to the client, we want to point it out as its own service.

Hi! I know the feeling :) I have a video on how to get clients the "realistic" non hype way :) I'll link it below. From my perspective, it is so important to find a way to have a financial base so you still feel like you can take breaks and focus on other areas of your life as well - like hobbies or spending time with family. Since our job is to be creative, our brains need to rest now and then :)
For me, that meant working as a dog walker for two years part time while I grew my business to a point where I could live from it. Cutting costs like moving to a smaller place or cooking more at home can also be helpful - it is so personal what your life looks like :)
Once you have the financial side in a bit more of a calm place, I would focus on getting back to enjoying creative work. You can try joining creative challenges, create personal projects or learn a new skill.

Which accounting software u us?..
My design business is based in Sweden so we use a tool called Fortnox but I think it's only a Swedish tool. For Kayla, I use Xero which has been great so far! I know a lot of people love Freshbooks and Quickbooks so they might be worth looking into. It all depends a little on which country you are in 😊
