Its a pleasure to watch a project take shape. At 77 years old and almost retired, I look forward to doing some additional construction building when the time is right. Thanks for all of your great efforts and pride with whatever your future holds. You have a great crew!
I’m so sorry you haven’t managed to gain a few quality years for yourself Eric but if you’re anything like me, as long as you feel you have achieved your “main goals” in life, then you are still a fortunate man. Stay well buddy 🖖
I love the style of this cabin! It looks like its going to have lots of room inside as well! Chad's dance as the drone was flying through the upstairs was quite entertaining! 😂 The three of you work together so well!!!
I do understand about moving on to different things… yet I have never seen anyone with better planning and skill in producing those garages cottages etc.. you are gifted .. God has blessed us by your inspiring work.. thank you
I like the Irish sounding music you chose for this time lapse video Ken. I like those storage trusses. That was cool when you could fly the drone through the storage trusses. That ladder lift is so handy. I was waiting to see the little roof over the door. The skylight too! It was fun to revisit the stairs being built again too. Nice ledger board install also. Thanks for this video Ken! You can be very proud of all the wonderful buildings you built over the years.
Ken, I love rewatching your old projects. I am not sure which garage or building I like the most. I really thought you guys working with Al and Gina over at Lumanh acres was a perfect combination of workers and leaders. I'm so sorry you are giving up the we build garages, but I completely understand I too retired at and now at 72 years old I am so glad I did. God bless you Ken on all of your endeavors and please keep those videos coming.
My father who has now gone on to his reward was a journeyman carpenter. I treasure the memories I have of our time working together. Thank you for all your videos. They remind me many good days.
Good morning ken. I can definitely say I will miss watching you and the boys building the most beautiful camps and garages. I like the way you explain everything about what you are doing and why. I look forward to seeing your New videos and enjoy your semi retirement . And best of luck to the boys with their new channels and business.
We were going to purchase a piece of property in Moultonborough, NH. We were waiting for the town to approve a lot line change. Then covid hit, and by the time it was approved, the value of the land doubled. They eventually sold it for two and a half times what we agreed. @@philtucker1224 😥
👌Please Ken, keep up posting this kind off `adventure`s`. You are absolutely making my day, together with a nice cup of coffee in the morning hours... 👋🖐
Hey ken, Really enjoy watching the videos. Nice to watch journeymen carpenters doing their thing. Much of what you are doing is similar to my own career as a builder/ carpenter. Started out in 1970 as an apprentice carpenter in the Chicago area. Loved it. Still do small jobs, mostly for family or neighbors. It was a great career ! Good luck and thanks
Reminds me of the first house we Sisco built in South Pine Highlands, Oneida co WI. The floorpan was a kitchen wall of the right from the entry door, then a counter. There was a stair up on the left, counter right, door ahead to living room. The counter was a divider between the kitchen sink, ref with a pass thru into the living room. So there was clear passage from the entrance/exit door, free access to the upstairs immediately upon entering, and the choice of proceeding thru straight from the entrance door to the living room with the counter on the right, or turn right immediately and pass the kit proper with the counter on the left. All of the house was compact and efficient, included washer and dryer aside the water heater and furnace. Somehow the Bishops ended up with our later build, a WI AG ext blueprint 1400 sq ft and this smaller house.
Ken, Love your videos . Very helpful to the industry at large. There are videos of a guy in California who did videos building , and or framing homes. The guys name is Larry Haun . Passed away several years ago. Keep up the good work.
I'm 68 and my health did a nose dive almost crippling me. I've rehabbed to walking with a cane. I'm retiring now. Sometimes Good sends you a wake up call! I listened! Enjoy your retirement! Hope we'll see your guys again in action. I'm crushing, foolishly over one of them, gonna miss watching! I'll keep it a secret, for life :-). Have a great day! 😊
Who knew you could build a cabin in 20 min 37 sec .... you guys are really fast🤣 Thanks for the vid .... really enjoyed the timelapse, especially with the drone🛰 footage👍🏻 Take care Ken, Chad & Dan .... whatta crew✏📐🔨🪚🚪🪟🏡👣
I found that enjoying your work was very therapeutic most of my working life I found jobs that enjoyed I worked from 15 years of age to seventy five the last twenty five were the best all I needed was an income that payed the bills
Some truly fine craftmanship! I especially loved how you started sheeting the roof while in the process of setting the trusses!! Outstanding workmanship!!
Very nice as usual there Ken. Will miss the builds but I’m much more happy and thankful that you are not going to be climbing and working the way you have now that age has revealed to you the limitations that life places on we “older” folks. I have eight plus years on you and was both amazed and scared to death seeing you work the way you did. Good decision my friend! 👍
Ken , I got a new phone about a year ago and it unsubscribed me from all my channel’s on CZcams . I just found your channel again and was surprised at how improved building and camera quality is . Thanks
Boy, this is the way to build a place!!! With lots of ingenuity and a good plan, as well as modern equipment and ideas puts together an excellent plan when properly executed! Ken's carpentry is the one to do it! They all work so well together thank you for sharing!!❤😅👋🏼
I built the same size In colorado. Never could get it finished. 16 months and still no septic system. Project went from 80 k to 207k. Bribes to workers and contractors just to come to work were daily and still failed inspections several times. I sold out before I went to jail for shooting contractors. Learned my lesson, I'll never build in colorado again.
I would like to have seen you guys put on a deck on the upper level. Maybe you could go back to all the projects you have done and see if they have finished the projects. And maybe you could do a finish video. Much like Ken’s Scenic Journeys a historical review. Thumbs up 👍
The only problem I find in doing that is the customer will often use it as an opportunity to ask for numerous small adjustments, but not feeling obliged to pay for the extra time spent..(just saying)..
a small request Ken.... can you place an approximate date for the build in these timelapse titles? It would help quite a bit when searching back to see the original clip.

No the homeowner did

No. Crusher run gravel compacted. Thanks for watching

Great job but purpose does the foam insulation boards serve under the concrete hows that help anything?
It insulates the house from the colder ground

About 3 weeks
Fantastic and it only took you 20 min. to build it.

Thanks. I subscribe to Epidemic Sound about $120 per year. They have a wide variety of music that can be used in videos.

You're welcome
I find it interesting they're building an off-grid cabin using modern technology
Right
Kind of hard to build anything the 21st century without modern technology.
Great job and video. Do you have blueprints available ? I’m retired and it’s on my bucket list to build my own home.

Ken, looks like you used RB and B - T111 siding . Why the Batten strips?
Board and batten is fairly popular here

About 3 weeks

another great project perfectly executed...how about the soft celtic music....nice touch Laddy

I'm still worried about the slaps on these building there is often no footing, these will not last, especially in the north.
He's built garages with this type of slab for over 30 years and they've held up well! They're designed for cold weather climates.
