I appreciate the video. Having a father and daughter making sushi together was awesome. Seeing a four legged cat hanging around the kitchen was cute. I purchased a Bazooka and I’m looking forward to making my own sushi at home. This definitely will save us $$$$. All the sushi rolls looks great. I’m glad you didn’t buy a sushi roll mate. Rice should be mixed in a wood bowl or shallow glass dish to allow air to cool rice. Premise was there, camera work difficult to follow but you all really need better hygiene. 7:03, wiping nose/mouth then using unwashed hands to wet knife& cut the roll.

For all the hateful comments... They look like clean people to me! The cat is not an issue! Trust me, every single one of you have eaten 10x nastier things out of restaurants. Besides, he/she is after the fish!
I overall agree as a pet owner before, but at the same time, you should expect people to raise their eyebrows if you're gonna involve your furry friend in this(as a guy with a hyper ig now 3 year old short hair cat, those things shed like crazy 😂 love him and all that, but... It's just not that proper lol).

That cat is adorable 😍. I agree they're clean. As long as the surface area is clean & the cat is not on the same table they're preparing food on I don't see an issue. I'm a cat owner myself and people have strange assumptions that because you have a cat or a pet in general that your cat or house is not clean and you'll end up with cat hair in your food - which is not the case at all. I have a clean home, I vaccum & wipe down my counter top before I cook & tie up or clip back my hair when preparing food. I wipe down my dinner table & even the couch.

As a guy who was a neat freakish pet owner in the past that's a bit more strict with my kitchen/pet etiquette, I'd say I like the cat, and it's not like he was pawing at anything that much unlike a certain kitty that looks very similar to your cat (tho his pattern is a bit different and mine was way worse to handle but I digress 😆)
But don't be surprised if people are weary of a short haired cat mate 😂 I find your bgm nice lol but I get it, cooking with a cat that's in the house with you is... A handful. Tho I'm sure you're aware of all of that lol I'm trying to learn to regularly cook Asian cuisine especially gimbap right now and I'm getting this kit so I'd say this is overall very helpful lol GoodLuck out there.

I'm trying to decide to if I will use the Bazooka or the bamboo mats. They both look pretty easy.
i learned to use the mats. very simple. just practice a few times and you will get it down. put the mat in a big freezerloc bag to keep it clean when rolling!

Does it matter what white rice to use?
They make special sushi rice that has been polished and is called short or medium grain white rice. Its typically cooked with vinegar, salt and sugar to make genuine sushi rice but you can use whatever rice you want. The stickiness of the rice depends on the starch content of the rice and how its cooked. They have good directions online!

@@AdamEdward don't cook it in the sushi vinegar mate. Just boil the rice with water and then add it after before you start making the rolls. Much better results.

The bazooka works, but you're taking out most of the fun by not learning how to use a mat... to me, that's the joy of making sushi at home.

Its not like a big ass hairball is in their sushi. Quit being scared and acting like you getting food poisoning from it. Youre not a pet owner it seems. Dog and cat hair can get anywhere in your house that youll accidentally get it in your mouth, its not the end of the world. Whats more gross is finding hair in restaurant take out/deliveries. This is their home, their pet, their food that they ate themselves and no one else. Leave them alone.
