I have a rescued tortoise, my mom found him in the middle of the where cars were. He was injured and there were no places where a tortoise would live around where i was at the time, we took him home and now hes been living with us for about 6 or 7 years, thank you so much for this!

What happened?
This video was actually very satisfying to watch, I have a tortoise and this is good to know! When I bathe my tortoise, I put a little towel on the bottom of the sink so that she doesnât slip :) your tortoise is very cute! She is very calm! Mine is kinda crazy and runs if I try to dry her haha :)

Hello! The enclosure size for your tortoise varies between species so firstly decide which species you want to keep and then look into enclosures. One of the most popular tortoises to keep because of they compact size are Russian/Horsefield tortoises and Hermannâs tortoises. I hope I was able to help!

I guess that's why they're so loved and adored !!â€â€đ€đ„° I wish I could get one but I'm on a fixed income and I'm up in age. I'm well aware that it could out-live me and If something happened to me, I'd be worried about who would take care of it and give it the love that it deserves, so I'll love them vicariously through owners like you !!! đ„°đ„°đ„°â€â€đą Just one suggestion ; buy a FRESH toothbrush so that she doesn't get any illnesses that may transfer from a used brush. A kid's toothbrush is usually what other tortoise parents use.

May i ask how often u have to bath them or does it depend and if it does how?
When they are still babies, you should bathe everyday. When they get older you should provide a shallow dish with water for them to soak whenever they please. If they don't soak on their own, you can bathe them 2-3 times per week.

You can brush them, just be gentle about it and use a soft toothbrush.

For the most part, yes. But if you have a something like ReptiSafe (amzn.to/43PS1ey) I would highly recommend you use it.
My tortoise lives outdoors so his plastron gets dirty really often and when I scrub it, 90% of the time he urinates all over me like he sprays it and stuff. Any tips?
They will urinate on you when scared, it's normal but should be avoided. They loose a lot of hydration by doing so. Unfortunately there's not much you can do. Try giving him a bath as shown in the video and avoid picking him up, that usually stresses them out. If you have to pick him up try to support at least two of his legs so that he feels safer. Avoid picking him up fully off of the ground and scrub very lightly to clean him. You can firstly let him get used to being soaked and only later on introduce the scrubbing/brushing aspect. I hope this was helpful and let me know how it goes!

Iâve been sick the last like 6 days and havenât been interacting with my tortoise as much. Iâm better now and was cleaning her cage out and notice that she had like black stuff like stuck up against her back leg in the shell. Iâve been trying to get it out with tweezers but I started pinching her on accident so I stopped. Does anyone know how to clean their legs like inside the shell? Lol
Try soaking her in warm water, it might soften up whatever is stuck on her shell. I hope it helps!

0-1 year: 4-5 times per week
2-3 years: 2-3 times per week
4 or older: 1 time per week

I don't think so. Maybe the frequency changes since it's a desert species. So you might want to bathe it less.

Iâm sorry but I have a marginated tortoise is a year old but I donât know if youâre supposed to get water and itâs like head or like fees because I searched it up on the Internet and this is your knowledge to do that but I see people do it so can you give me your personal preference if I can get water on top of his face
I would let the tortoise choose, sometimes they like to dunk their heads underwater during bath time!

Baby tortoises need more regular soaks than adults and I highly recommend that you do just that. Make sure the water is shallow enough that they can stick their heads out, but deep enough that they can submerge their heads in and have a drink.
