Wow , im glad this popped up from nowhere , 9 yrs old !
The most underrated guitarist ever!!! Pure genius!!
Galaxy 500 Rev
True to the core. His name deserves to be right up there with Hendrix, Page and Clapton.
Another completely underrated guitarist was Eddie Hazel, btw.
Absolutely. I'm glad he was recognized on guitar hero 2, I believe, but "Pshycobilly Freakout" is not a true measure of his skill, rhythm, and chord work.
👍❤🤠😈
I'd say his style is pretty par for the course as far as rockabilly is concerned, which is already pretty good on its own
It's comforting to know that he's still out there spreading the gospel.
+Scott Thornton yes !!!
Amen brother!
Nah, the hell with “mainstream “ these guys are better than that.
amen !
I was a sinner before I saw the Reverend… ♥️ Missing the early Denton days at Rick’s.
RHH should have been inducted into the Rock n' Roll hall of Fame note one.
I’m from Cleveland. The Rock Hall is a joke. Just enough R&R in it to make it reputable. But if you want to see Madonnas outfits or visit hip hop displays.....
Too good for that poor excuse of an institution.
@@spyder8093 the hall of shame is a bottom feeding piece of shit in a fancy building.
True 'dat
I couldn’t possibly explain how obsessed I am with this whole band, you either know and feel it or you just don’t understand music
Country bad boy music
He's in Portland tonight and I'm going!!
I’ve never been lucky enough to see RHH live yet and I’d like
I’d ask how was the show… But I’m already 100% sure it was Fuckin Awesome! 😄 Jim is incredible on a guitar and so are the other guys ! 👍🏻🤯 Perfect Band!
Why you lucky lil' devil!
How the fuck i missed that? Where was the show?
These guys are ALL underrated. And they put on a GREAT show whenever they come to Lawrence, Ks.
Ditto, Dekalb, IL.
I saw them in Seattle in 95 and then a decade later in Boston in 2005... What amazed me was that Jim had gotten better.
He had somehow improved his already formidable array of guitar chops - I still think about that sometimes, that a player of his caliber just kept improving on his already excellent skills
I had similar experience when I saw monster magnet a couple of years ago. These are the kind of bands that are big enough to be professional, but small enough that they basically have to be constantly touring to make a living , so they’re just so well practiced and tight.
It really is cool to see improvement in people that are already either immensely talented or have like a million skills under their belt already. It's even cooler to see it though when you've been keeping up with their stuff for years.
IKR? The RHH is definitely improving with age and experience. I mean, DAMN.
More than 1 broken bone at Rev show since '90's. Now I'm old. Just Christmas time. The fucking best
This guy is phenomenal on the guitar, what a beast!
I had the pleasure to open his show once in Ft Worth. He played my upright bass and autographed it. Good guy, we spoke until he had to get on stage
Got my first tattoo in 1994 and this song was blasted by one of the artists in the studio during it. I'm pretty sure this song got tattooed into my soul. Been a huge fan ever since...
🤘🏻
_Tattooed into my soul_
I hurrrd that
Eskimo kisses to the mic! Nearly 10 years ago this was recorded, how the world has changed yet this song hasn't. Red and black tuxedo for the win.
Beauty to hear live actually
Indeed
I used to be a sinner- til i went and saw The Rev. Just back from Chico show. Glory hallelujah.
KEXP always books the dope talent and TR Horton Heat is the ultimate bomb! I am reminded of a dozen other devil+car tracks but the Reverend is killing the genre here and clearly has improved w/age. Swinging, baby! Thanks KEXP.
Please play this at my funeral !!!
Of all the Rev's songs, this one contains by far my favorite solo
That vocal echo is amazing
Man you guys are still the best show on wheels. Thank god for the Rev.
The Reverend is my biggest musical inspiration. I'm glad he's still going.
One of Corpus Christi Texas finest ever. Proud this sound comes from my hometown 🤘🏼🤘🏼
I never heard of this guy (I'm bit young I suppose) but I love it! I find it because I was investigate the Gretsch guitar..and that is BEAUTIFUL!
Don’t know how old you are, but if you ever get the chance to see The Rev live, GO! I’ve seen then @ 8-10 times since the early 90’s. Always great.
The heat is none to be fooled with now that you've discovered this guitar monster you may as well go down to Mickey baker and Albert King the true victor of the battle of chess records
Check out the Cramps too
The guitar playing on this is off the charts killer. Go REV go!!!
It's 2 am I just found out about the rev and I don't know what it is about this music but it makes me want to raise some hell more than anything in the world..... may he save my soul
The devils always chasing me but thanks to the rev, I have been saved.
Praise the Rev and his boys for spreading the word!
I have been saved!
I was a sinner… then I saw the Reverend Horton Heat ♦️♠️♥️♣️
I was a senior in high school when these cats came through town. There was another band across the way playing a club and I was like one of three people in The Library in Denton Texas and heard Jim play The Devil's Chasin' Me along with Hot Rod Lincoln back to back...blew me away. Wound up smoking cigarettes and talking with Jimbo out front. Told him their sound reminded me of Chet Atkins with a Zoot band backing him up. We drank beer and talked about all the flat top fellas that were doin' it cool 40 yrs earlier. MEMORIES
I liked how he plays two guitar parts at the same time by hammering on with his left hand.
“ Love & a 45 “ movie song ‼️ killer movie & amazing song 🎸🎶🎸
Hey Jim!! This a Awesome performance man, that reminds me of the old days ('87-89). And I drove to downtown Austin recently and up the Drag, I was so happy to see that the *Hole In The Wall* was still there. Seen the Rev. Horton Heat there quite a few times late 80's! ;) Great performance by the band here, i love this rendition of the song.

ive met him twice , he is the nicest guy
Saw him a few weeks ago, The Reverend still Got it Man! It was A GREAT SHOW !!!
I was very close.
Nostalgia 🖤 thanks dad for putting me onto real music
Now this is a performance
Grew up with jim in Dallas. He's just yr favorite uncle, the cool one, used to play with him at the theater gallery in '86 when hardcore and rockabilly were born forth into the psychobilly thing. Fun for the Hole Family.
These guys are incredible!!!!!!!
Just wanted to put it out there, I would pay 100 bucks for the official tab book. Spiral bound . All of it.
I've been seeing these guys since maybe 95. I think this is drummer from those days
Excellent presentation and performance for KEXP
This group is my all time fave..... I go to church @ the Tralf once or twice a year..... Thanks Guys...!
I've got tickets to a show of theirs this year. Super exited to see these awesome dudes play!
pay attention kids: this is one of the great surviving legacy's of American Music. heed his lyrics, too, they got a little more than just pump and dump the weekend away........
Yeah, so does tons of current music.

God Bless all the good people that find this New year Eve 2021ish 💫
thanks captain.
Fantastic! I'd pay any price to see live
i remember when i was in the army back in the 80s, saw them in austin a few times. maybe even round ft hood
Love it !!! I never heard of the Rev before, and I just Love it !!! Thank you for posting..
Classic Rev... ! He still got it! 😗
Don't forget Jimbo. That guy plucks that upright like a boss...
Richard Martinez don’t forget jimbo and the corn fed drummer
@@baptizedbyfire13 Moves it about and doesn't miss a beat.
I saw the rev opening for Metallica years back and he was the SHIT also he came out and jammed a few songs with Metallica. LOVED IT !!!
What venue? Sounds fun.
The Rev is fee-nom-i-null!!!
If a David Lynch movie turned into music this would be it.
God bless the Reverend...
Can I get an Amen??
Late to the party but AMEN! brother!
My first gretsch changed how I even think about music after 20 years of shredding that metal lifestyle gretsch rules and turned me into a bluesman
Gretsch guitars sound SO good, but they're SO expensive. I would love to be able to afford one. The Tim Armstrong model looks cool, especially since I'm a lefty. Maybe one day.
Fan for life! Just saw them for the third time in Albuquerque...the sets just get better and tighter every time!
eljefeguapobarbon gets better every time, have seen their show at least 6 times in STL never disappointed. Would say its like a fine wine it only gets better. P.S. You have a friend in Jimbo. (actuality I have meet him and he is a super cool guy).
eljefeguapobarbon First time I saw the Rev was at the old Beyond Ordinary in early '92. Show changed my life.
This is begging to be in a Quinton Terrintino flick!
TBH, Excellent performance! I've seen The Rev a few times live back in the day (late 80's/early 90's) in ATX. I dunno if Jim would remember, me and my buddy Big Al smoke a few on occasion with him in the bushes in the alley beside the Hole In The Wall! ;) I followed "Smilin' Jack on bass outside the Hole in the Wall with his wireless standup bass!
Went a block one way, then a block the other way, then leaned back on the hood of a car, at the light, jamming all the while. god they put on a good show! Then he went back in the bar to the stage. The Song "Love Whip" was the one where Jim would stand on Jack's bass.. And what song was it they would lay down, and kick their feet in the air while jamming. lol
One night at the Hole In The Wall, they played a "new" song, "Crazy Ex Boyfriend".. We all liked it. Well later, me and 3 friends went over to this chicks apt, and who should show up! Her Crazy Ex Boyfriend!! No shit! he's threatening her, telling us his friend has a shotgun in the car, one of the guys i was with shows me he had a 22 pistol in his waistband i didn't know,
god i was shitting a brick! lol! Well, we made a break for it and got outta there, poor girl, i have no idea what happened to her. Shit is rough man
We all wanna live. :P
Saw Rev Horton Heat also, at Woodshock 2, some ppls land in South Austin.. 89? 90? Somehwere around there. I traded Jim some weed for speed, if i remember right, and i traded the speed to someone else for some acid. My bad. I went to watch Calvin Russel, in his nice blue cowboy outfit, and his huge cowboy hat... Man, That hat just got bigger and bigger..
I was real uncomfortable. lmao! Went back to Big Al's pickup truck after that, and sat on the tailgate watching the damn fire all night.. I could see the stage and the lights in the distance, and hear the bands, but.. i was worthless to move...
Good old days and mems with the Reverend Horton Heat!!!
I still got that '87 recording they made at a Dallas Radio Station!
To me, that's the Real 'Heat! But I'm glad they've gained the huge following they have, and still like them too.
Godspeed Reverend and Prophets!!!

Saw the Rev in Hamilton, Ontario a couple of years ago with my son. Great concert!!!
Have seen them many times. Veterans of the live show!!
Such a great sound, I have never heard a song of his I didn't like. Atlanta 1995 we were there!
My birthday falls on Easter Sunday this year for the first time in my life! 4/21/2019. The Rev. playing Flagstaff, Az. that night. Just got my tix. Cant wait!
WOW! Turnin' up the HEAT!
I was not expecting him to get up on that bass damn
He's done it once at every show for the last 25 years. :-)
Does it every show , you better ask somebody....
Must be a newbie...been doing it for close to 30 years. Once asked how many basses he has gone through. Just smiled and shook his head.
Welcome aboard! And ignore the experts!!!
@@guido2114 seen him 12 times working as a bouncer at a club he would play at would smoke them out before and after the show and jimbo would kill it on the bass
Love you Rev!
Love these guys!
I knew it! The line is "He's got a hellhound down on his knee!" I knew that "Hellhound driving limousine" made absolutely no freakin' sense when the next line is about his driver.
Classical masterpiece!
Love it🤗
I love this band 😊

WOWWWWW! From Russia with love! Охренеть! Чисто САЙКО!!!!!
Nice to see the Rev demonstrate some proper stand up bass :)
Gotta love Jimbo! The last time I saw him he was sharing his MGD with me from onstage while Jim Heath serenaded me personally with "Crooked Cigarette." 💋😘
Una de mis bandas favoritas sin duda. 👌🏾
Going to see him and Unknown Hinson tomorrow night in Altoona Pa.
I want to run a 1950s D&D setting based on this song.
Amazing 👏
My new hero
I'm late as fuck to this party, but I am seriously diggin' the Rev.
All hail The Reverend! 💗😎
Awesome! And now the devil might get off my back for a while.
Top version !
Great performance
Jim Heath is a bad man on the guitar!
tremendo tema .
The best lineup was when Taz Bentley was behind the drum kit, but The Rev always puts on a great live show.
A big hell yes to your comment. It was on that second album that the Reverend really found his sound and Taz had a ton to do with it. One of my all time favorite drummers .
it's pretty fuckin' good, as it's always been!
The Rev live tonight (3/4/23) at Fitzgerald’s in Berwyn, Illinois! The Devil ride’n shotgun with me tonight. 👺
Go Man Go!
Heat!
Revho...always on tour
Saw him tonight on BITCHIN RIDES..... great advertising and a great car!
