- Thandie was having a mommy day. All day long she wanted to stay as close as possible to mom. It was the cutest thing to watch. You'd think she get bored, but nope! Sometimes she got to walk or sit a bit by herself, but within minutes she would go back to mommy or mommy would grab her. Though the interaction between Thandie and other gorilla's like Matadi are great to see. As a mommy to be myself, I think Mayani also likes the days her child is a bit clingy. Hope you enjoy this cute footage :)!

Thandie and Kintaro would make a lovely couple when they are older. Thandie is a beautiful and seemingly sweet lil baby girl
If Thandie has be chosen to live with Kintaro I would cry. It would mean that she has to go to Kyoto zoo, the worst zoo for gorillas in the world. Antwerpen zoo with a lot of space and a wonderful area around their enclosure with real green grass and stony artificial hills to blimb on is beautiful, quite the contrary of Kyoto. I wish that Kintaro once could change his boring monotonous dirty jailhouse. But never ever lovely Thandy!

Its so cute how Thandie hugs Mama's head and then at times she lays her little head on Moms head. She is such a little cuddle-bug. Thandie looks so happy and content wrapped around Mama's neck and head. Her beautiful eyes are so bright and proud as if she is thinking..."This is my Sweet Mommy and I just Love her so much! Im so lucky she is my Mommy and loves me! (Little cute happy giggles from Thandie)" Thank you for the tender moments you share with us. Another Wonderful video! ;-)

Her mommy is quite young isn't she??? Is Thandie her 1st??
Mayani is 17 years old. It's not her first baby but it is her first baby in Zoo Antwerpen with silverback Matadi. Matadi is younger, it is his first baby and he is 15years old ;)
I'm curious about mom mayani , I saw an episode of in the wild or something like that about a zoo(cant remember the name of it!driving me crazy!) Where a 1st time mom,very young, named mayani was about to give birth (the silverback was old, I think he passed away and there was another experienced mom gorilla named lena who was raising a small one at the time as well) can you please offer info on mayani gorilla mom....curious to know if it's the same one...thank you liekes... comment by Stefanie Perez
Mayani was born on 6 december 2001, in Barcelona (Zoo Barcelona).Father: Xebo
Mother: Machinda. She moved to zoo Dublin and since the 14th of September 2017 she's in Belgium in Zoo Antwerpen. I'm also curious if it could be the same Mayani you have seen on tv/online. If you would like to know anything else, feel free to ask I could ask the zookeepers if they know the answer ;).
@@LiekesShotOfLife I think it is the same mayani....saw some other posts from other ppl filming at Antwerp...her 1st baby was named kambiri and baby was sired by horst (harry) whom passed away I believe 2016/2017....mayani was super young but what I saw was she did really well with baby cleaned him up and cuddled him right after birth ...dont know what happened,after that but kambiri was born in 2011/2012....but thank you just so curious about these wonderful gorillas!

They are way better of here than in the wild where their live is in serious danger. But I get that living in the wild without any danger would be the best situation.
