The reason why there was no crashing sounds is because you have set your audio setting to 256 voices, and when you have traffic, each car on the road plays a lot of sounds, and you quickly reach the limit of 256 sound effects at the same time, so some sounds just don’t play. I’d turn it up to 512, you have a 4090, it doesn’t do much

It really is crazy how much faster the cars feel playing beamng in vr vs playing on flat screen.
Yeah no joke there and how huge everything feels too
@@Dimondminer11 I think the only thing I tried that didn't feel huge was the carbonworks f4 mod.
Flying into a corner in a turbo covet and realizing you don’t have ABS is a wild feeling in VR. Was so fun to drive

10:34 he just accepted it 😂
I don't know why, but there's somehintg very wholesome in how MuYe acts so amazed by the VR stuff. It felt like watching a kid having fun.
You know there's something wrong when you have to crawl under a table to open your pigeon's door.
skill issue
I feel like VR might bring back dual GPU setups because you could have one for each eye.
Hello motion sickness? That would mean that both displays are slightly out of sync which your brain will hate. But AMD did that when the RX 580 was current saying you could use them in crossfire, 1 per eye
@@Dimondminer11 Well I figured that if you were pushing fairly high framerates, which you probably would be with a dual gpu setup, that then you could so something similar to vsync but with the two displays, and the impact on latency would be minimal.
@quinnobi42 while you wouldn't be able to tell that there's any desync between the displays your brain can and it'll give you a headache asap. It's the reason why people get headaches when looking at a display with a pwm backlight (means it flickers a lot, especially at low brightness) even though they can't notice a flicker of any sort
@@Dimondminer11 Though I would think that very high refresh rate displays running at high fps (240+) would not cause these same issues, since that is well beyond what the human eye should be able to discern.
@@quinnobi42I can notice drops in FPS pretty easily, even at 120FPS. The main issue for feeling fluid motion is that the framerate is consistent and doesn't keep changing. I'd take a perfectly consistent 40 FPS over a randomly shifting 30 to 60 FPS any day.

MuYe just so you know the Oculus Link cable you bought has a little velcro strap on the cable or in the box. The velcro is used for supporting the cable to the headset strap to reduce tension on the port on the headset

ive been having random performance. like at first i realized i needed to stick to smaller maps to be reasonably playable on a 4070ti. then i tried italy, the biggest stock map by far, ON max settings (but reflections off) and it ran fine. so idk. still a lot of pop-in which looks terrible, but its still SO MUCH FUN. offroading is a great experience.
I run any map over 100fps on high settings with 4070ti but that’s on valve index on quest performance is really bad due to oculus software being terrible
Haven’t even started the video, and I already am excited cause I just did vr beamng last night and super excited to see MuYe’s video 😂😂😂
bro muye's face when he got into level 4 got me chucklin really hard he has the most devious smile of all time great vid thanks for making me laugh
Saving up money from my part time job while I was in university for vr and for a g25 was the best thing I've done in my life.
Playing ACC and dirt rally 2 in vr helped me learn how to drive in real life and genuinely made me a smoothest driver in our family. I'm so happy Beam finally has support in VR

Good video, already impressed and i ain’t even half way through the video! Unfortunately I don’t have a VR though.
I recommend you to put the Oculus cable through that thing on the back which holds the strap together (no idea how to call it). It wouldn't hang from that connector and it should last longer.

Happy puking to you too. Having tried it on my 3080 Ti and experiencing the hell that is FPS drops in VR (unplayable), I admire your perseverance in the name of CZcams likes.
I sincerely hope that he doesn't get accustomed to crashing to the point where he stops flinching while driving irl
i've been waiting this for ages. also very important thing to note is that the gpu that would run the game have to has at least 12gb of vram. i mean, to play it with my pc which is r9 5900x, 64gb of 3733mhz ram and a 3070ti (which is 8gb card) i had to set texture quality to minimal and game resolution to 35% in steam vr. otherwise i would get like 10-15fps and spill some funny liquids all over my setup
12gb vram?! Crazy
@@shadedisplayed vulkan api have some serious trouble with vram leaks, even in non-vr mode but with vulkan i have to set textures to minimal, in directx i can set it to normal-high but i always play with them set to low to have some headroom just in case (3440x1440 screen)
It is breathtakingly good! Can't get enough of it! I can get stable 72fps on several maps with a 4070.
VR completely changes racing games. I played Assetto Corsa, racing on Laguna Seca in a Lotus Elise, and that downhill corkscrew or whatever down the back of the course is so much scarier in VR.

7:00 what you mean bad frame rate? Ive been winning a game at 20-10 fps and even 5. Its an Fps game.
Great video. I think the low FPS thing would get me in VR, it bothers me in regular games like Arma III non-VR.
It’s funny and entertaining for me because I never knew beamng had VR
Vr support was apart of the most recent update, which wasn't too long ago

There are actually secret options (debug menu?) you can get into that can drastically turn up LOD and various other settings to pretty incredible levels.
But your PC also might want to unalive itself
11:22 ok mine runs with 165 fps
very good jobb
Amazing video like always doesn't matter if you do information one or fun like questionable racing or wtf
For doing VR mode, you will want to have an HD graphics mod put in, that should fix the goofy sprite rotation tween on the foliage or at least hide it better.
