You should never doubt your talent. Everything you do is beautiful. Pumpkin is amazing
the angle you're filming at makes the top of the pumpkin look gold.
Love it. I like that you were unsure of what you were doing. Sort of like most of us. Turned out gorgeous.
Emma, I really enjoyed this video and I actually just painted this. This was one of my most successful paintings, and I think it's because of your honest approach. You talked about what worked and what didn't. You shared your fear of not knowing what you are doing, yet continued on. Your positive optimistic approach carried me through. Let's do more gouache! Thank you!
I’m the beginner, I want to learn all mediums with a thirst to learn hence why I binge watch CZcams instead of Netflix and it was kinda neat to watch you play, discover, learn etc out of your comfort zone. It’s beautiful!!🎃🎃
Emma it’s so great to hear you laugh and chuckle:). Us “newbies to Watercolour ” laugh at every piece we do when we are painting.... difference, ours don’t turn out as great as yours does 😂😂😂. Oh well we will move forward and keep on trying. ❤️. Stay healthy and safe🤗. Love this and all your videos !!!
Wow! Looks amazing. Being brave is part of being an artist. So according to this pumpkin, you must be bulletproof. Love this experiment.
So enjoyed this video. Thank you for being real and showing us how to learn and try new things. You are so refreshing and I learn so much from your style. Big hugs to you. ❤️
So fun watching you create a beautiful ending. I admire your ability to be vulnerable & figure it out as you went with us watching. Great tutorial 👏🏽 thank you for being so real ❤️
FINALLY!!!!! a real studio I can relate to! :D
The end result is amazing 😍 so realistic. Your pumpkin 🎃 done on black makes it really pop out. Love ❤️ it
Love the contrast with the black paper. Turned out beautifully 🍁
Emma, its perfect! Not sure why you see it otherwise!!! Thank you for the skill you share with all of us.
I have watched a lot of guache videos and everyone does it differently. I love your pumpkin!
Gorgeous pumpkin! Thank you for sharing your process. I often feel defeated about my work in the middle of painting it. It's good to know that I'm not the only one. I have done the same thing in oil paintings, where I didn't like the first layer and just kept working on it. To my surprise often it would turn out quite well. Having the courage to keep going and not just give up! Thank you!
I have science degrees- never took an art class after elementary school, but I have really enjoyed this watercolor journey with you. Thank you so much!
It has turned out to be a WONDERFUL PUMPKIN PAINTING
Thanks for sharing your thoughts as you went along. Loved that you were unsure. Gives me a bit of confidence to try something out of my comfort zone. Turned out beautiful!
One of the most beautiful experiments I've ever seen! Great job, Emma!
I love how brave you are, looked beautiful from the first stroke!
Your pumpkin turned out wonderful! Thanks for sharing your feelings as you painted!
Your painting turned out great! Even though you say you don't know what you're doing, you really do. Your painting strokes are sure, and yield a great result! It was therapuetic for me just to watch you paint. I think I'll have to get my gouche paints out and try it. Thanks for a wonderful tutorial!
I know this was 2 years ago but I felt I had to say , it was a wonderful tutorial. ❤
It was great to watch you do this. I have been thinking about trying gouache and watching you do this has inspired me! What I got from your demo is that you can fix almost anything, just keep layering it on! I can see how it is a learning curve but I may have to try it now. Thank, Emma. Well done!
I had a dream last night, too, only mine was about watercolor and two of your videos were in it.
I loved seeing you do something different and it turned out wonderful. I have black watercolour paper and didn’t know what to do with it... I do now!!
I could have taken your sound from your video and used it in the art classes I was “teaching” to high schoolers for an art credit in my private church school. 😂 All turned out well and they were duly impressed with my results as well as their own! (35+ years since I learned most of that stuff high school) Thanks for inspiring all of us!
I have not used Gouache, so it was fun watching you use it. And your pumpkin turned out great! I especially love the stem, it has a lot of character!
I have never usedgouache, but watching you paint with it makes me want to try it out, love the pumpkinx
Loved this, and yes, it was a great tutorial. Sometimes watching an artist struggle a little is a great teaching tool! I love that you don't give up. I've tried acrylics, oils, watercolor and now gouache and, although I found oils the easiest medium, that could have been because I was younger! 🤣 I've been watching you and a few other artists for quite awhile, and I feel that I've learned so much and different techniques from each of you. What you do is appreciated so much!
I would definitely love more gouache tutorials! This is great!
Em! This is fantastic! Trusting your instincts with gouache is key. There's no wrong way to use it. I've been struggling lately, found a YT artist named Lois Davidson. She TOTALLY turned things around for me! Got past that boredom hump, just as you are doing proceeding with new things. I love gouache, don't use enough of it, but you've inspired me!
Very cool and realistic. I have both the black paper and gouache but haven't used either one. I can imagine this with a full moon in the background.
Lovely.....looks so real. From all the pumpkin paintings I saw yours is the best. Thums-up.
Thanks for showing us you're reality...makes me feel better about my own painting area. Great gouache demo. I needed this. I have gouache but have not used it ..yet!
It turned out beautiful! While gouache is a nice medium, it just doesn’t have the magic watercolor can create. I love love watercolor and just want everything I paint to have watercolor mixing magic!
Have to agree with everything that Mary said. I’ve wanted to try Gouache on black paper but not sure what to paint. Flowers are my preference. I’d like to see more of that Emma, if you can give it a go. Thanks
The pumpkin looks fabulous! Sarah Burns works a lot with gouache. You should check out her tutorials. She has tons of tips and tricks. I’ve learned so much from her about this medium.
Your pumpkin is so terrific girl!!
I love your description of how you approach your drawing...I really found it interesting. I just bought gouache and I am also nervous about trying it for the first time....you have given me incentive I need....Thank you fellow Canuk.....
It turned out so pretty! The finished one with all the highlights added really jumps off the page at you!
I am just starting gouache like you. Have learned watercolor from you and know am excited to learn gouache with you! Love this pumpkin
Wow😲😮😍More Gouache😍🌹
Girl, I am watching this video right now and it is like you are in my head. All the problems you’re having is the exact same thing I’ve been going through, lol😂
Well I really did enjoy watching you figure this medium out. I think it looks great!
I really, really like this video! It turned out great. Thank you for experimenting a new thing with all of us.
Love it! Thanks for sharing your process! 🇨🇦❤️
💜 Thank You ! I've been having a hard time picking up a brush. I got gouache to just play and couldn't pass up a pumpkin too!
Thank you so much for this gouache tutorial. I enjoyed watching you paint the pumpkin and laughed at your humorous comments - you are so talented - thank you again. (I think I will stick with watercolor =). Your gouache pumpkin came out beautiful!
I totally agree, I Loved watching her paint and I laughed like crazy!! I’m with you, I’m sticking with Watercolor!! :-)
Love the final look Emma, you did well!
I would love to see you do a gingerbread house in gouache
So realistic! What talent you have!
I love how real you are ! Your amazing!! 💗
Turned out very pretty
Emma, you kept saying that this wasn’t a tutorial, but it was a process that you used. That process and your train of thought are so helpful. I would rather that then a step-by-step copy. I hope this makes sense. Thank you!
One of my favorite videos to date. ❤️. I was laughing through the entire video as I listened to your raw thought process. It would be the PERFECT voice over if I were to ever make a watercolor video! Lol
Wow emma it’s so beautiful and realistic
Gouache, you hate to love it🥰
Cool. Liked the stem..,and the pumpkin.
wow amazing you are the master in watercolor and gouache
It looks great. I love the way it came out.
This is a tutorial about however unsure you may be, you can still do it! 😉 That is the perpetual state of most of the beginners if not all 😂 And this is the most realistic tutorial ever! Thank you for this! I looooved the video and loooooooooooved the painting too! It turned out awesome and you must do more! It looks so realistic! And I reeeaaallly want to try gouache now 😂 gosh dang it 😂
I love gouache. Its so forgiving and gorgeous!
Great pumpkin tutorial, love the colours. Could you please do more Gouache videos. Thank you for teaching us.💐💖
It’s simply beautiful, thanks.
gorgeous... love it
Wow, outblowing!
You are doing great, but I am familiar with that “what am I doing”-feeling. When it turns out good I wish I remember how I did it.
Love it.
This is exactly what I needed. Gorgeous work. More of this would be fantastic. Thank you.
It looks great to me!
It is gorgeous! You did a great job!
I love your pumpkin!!
I loved it!❣️
Beautiful job!!
Awesome.
This is amazing!
Emma, this came out so great, you are so hard on yourself, yes this was a tutorial and it didn’t feel at all that you’re working in a different medium. It’s very realistic and looks so great on the black paper. You did an awesome job,as always 👍😊❤️
Loved the video. You sound like me when I am painting. Unsure of what I am doing. So afraid of making a mistake. So silly because it is only paint and paper. The only difference between you and me is that whatever you paint always comes out beautiful! Me not so much. Thanks for the video. I do learn a lot from you.
Hi Emma I really enjoyed watching you paint the pumpkin it looked sooo realistic from Sydney Australia.
I really love this! You’ve inspired me to try it. Thank you.
...just amazing! Thank you for gouache 😉❤️
I like this painting very much thanks for sharing this
Beautiful. Great job. I’ve been thinking of trying guoche, you have given me hope
Oh I love it, turned out great.
I have been staring at my goucher for almost a year too 🤣🤣🤣, I have only used it for some highlights on a few watercolor like ocean or water. I am new at both. I am looking for a storage pallet for the gouche atm.
PS: a well-known artist (Lindsay Wierich) always says: "...paint what you see, not what you "think" you should see..." This helps me tremendously--thought I'd share. :)

It looks awesome! I’ve been playing around with gouache and find it really hard to paint with.
I know you did a great job!
Raining here too in NC. Painting in my art room too. It’s messier than yours. Lol.
So impressed with your drawling 🎃🤖👻
Love it! It came out so good! I think as water color artists we work opposite, which is not unusual for me cuz I’m left handed too lol. But from what I have seen, doesn’t gouache go from dark to light? So once you started the stem and highlights it really made it pop! Now I wanna try it! I’m excited that you can reactivate it. As always, thanks for taking us along on your journey, and for your wonderful inspiration! You’re awesome!💜
you did a fantastic job. thank you for sharing this "tutorial" it was good to see that even you struggle :) I want to try this for sure. I just bought some gouache so I think I will give it a go. You are a great artist, don't be so hard on yourself.
Good job Emma. Poppy. Pumpkins are orange.
This is beautiful!! As a long time acrylic painter, I am now trying to learn watercolor. Some of the frustrations you felt doing this are very familiar to me, but in reverse! Lol! Thanks for a fun video and awesome results!!👍👍
Super Satisfying, like if you agree.
What are you talking about? It looks 3d and so beautiful. Thanks for the tutorial; I got some goauche paints but was terribly apprehensive about trying them. Not anymore.
Wow. I have just started painting with gouache. So I am having trouble with blending . As I am still a newbie
Wow, that's one juicy pum😃pkin. Have you tasted it yet?
Ruddy pumpkin!
Beautiful work Emma!! I’ve been painting for about 5 months now. Both my husband & I got Covid and ended up in the hospital. I was in for 8 days and I watched so many of your videos...your sweetness helped lighten the fear, believe me.
I really appreciate your love of art, but your humor and humility are what draws me back to you! You always make me feel like I am going to be able to achieve what you are teaching! Have you ever taught before? With anything? Because you are a natural for sure!! We all appreciate You! I just have to say I am addicted to pumpkins because of you! Haha!
