- Note: There has been a lot of discussion lately regarding ASP's use of the PIT / TVI Maneuver. Col. Mike Hager, Director of ASP and Secretary of the Department of Public Safety, said recently about these pursuit videos: "The only good thing I hope that comes from that is people know to not run from the state police." Full story here: • EXCLUSIVE LOOK at PIT ...
Perhaps the message is getting out. This driver fled from Sherwood and North Little Rock for several miles before stopping when ASP got involved.
Trooper's Report:
On 8/6/2023, I, Trooper Permenter, was actively patrolling in North Little Rock. The Troop A Dispatch advised that Sherwood
Police and North Little Rock Police were in pursuit of a Ford Transit van, AR LPN: 449WZY, and were asking for assistance
from the Arkansas State Police. The pursuit entered Interstate 40 West at North Hills.
I activated my emergency lights and siren and was able to become the primary unit of the pursuit at Interstate 40 West at
Crystal Hill. The vehicle was in the middle lane as I approached to conduct a tactical vehicle intervention. The driver
immediately applied the brakes and swerved to the number three lane. The driver slowed and drove onto the inside shoulder
before accelerating and violently swerving between all three lanes to prevent my unit from attempting a tactical vehicle
intervention. Near the exit to Interstate 430, the driver again abruptly applied the brakes and swerved onto the inside shoulder.
I angled my unit in front of the Transit Van and the driver stopped and exited with his hands raised. The Transit Van was not
placed in park and rolled down the grassy median, coming to rest on the inside shoulder of the eastbound lanes of Interstate
40. I gave commands for the driver to get on the ground and placed him into handcuffs without incident. The vehicle was
cleared by North Little Rock Police. The driver was identified as, Christopher Gilliam and taken into custody by Sherwood
Police. There were no injuries and no damage to any vehicles from the pursuit.

Dilemma!
Love the videos, but if they work as Col. Mike hopes, there won't be as many more...
Why was it blurred out at the arrest?
Yep Colonel Mike! That’s what I love about ASP! They shut ‘em right down 😆💜
Indeed much criticism on the PIT maneuvers, and sometimes as a result of a simple traffic violation .... ANY time a PIT is performed tho, it all comes back on the suspect. It's never the result of an overzealous officer 'out to be a hero', or to make a name for him or herself.
For those who question or criticize the use of TVI, as an example, you're the toope on patrol late night on the Interstate ..... you observe a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed .... You light them up, and instead of pulling over, they flee.
At this point, you have no idea if it's one or more escapees or other felon, having just perpetrated a serious crime such as murder or kidnapping ... Obviously that vehicle has to be stopped, and if driven by a such a person, they have to be taken out of society. If it's their choice to flee, what other option does the officer have? Common sense tells us that these officers aren't putting their lives in danger for sport; rather, I'm sure they would much prefer issuing a ticket.
It's a sad state of affairs when the mindset of people to flee at high speeds for the sake of avoiding a ticket ..... But let's face it, when there's need for a chase, most times it is by someone with a warrant, or having just committed a crime .... or transporting a load of killer drugs or weapons. Hopefully the thinking of those who oppose the PIT maneuver will think it through and see that at certain times, there really is no avoiding the need.
@@crackstp North Little Rock blurred it according to the channel. Likely to protect the un-charged like some departments and media do.
It doesn't mention the age, maybe a minor even though the ASP report includes the name?
I feel sorry for the dog. All ready to play chase and no one cooperates.
Yeah, I was also hoping the pupper would get a bite in, just to seal the deal!
I agree, those fur missiles deserve to get a chance to take a bite out of crime
They shouldn't have had the dog out to begin with.
@@thinbluelinenpd1707 and you can determine that how?
Yes, a pit followed by a K9 takedown is the best.
Poor K9 didn't get the chance to go Nom Nom 😅
12:12 "He did not want State to PIT him out"
Judging by the conversation at the end, dude in the Transit knew exactly what was coming lol
He was probably naked as well, hence the pixalation when he exited and surrendered.
12:12 "He did not want State to PIT him out"
Judging by the conversation at gtb sbs, dude in the Transit knew exactly what was coming lol
There's no real incentive from criminal scum to stop when there' no worry about taking a PIT. I hope the ASP NEVER stops and that more LEA's across the country stat using it.
And just like that , ASP swoops in and takes care of the bad guy !!! Great job Trooper Keri 💪🇺🇸💪😎
So let's get away in a bright red van that looks like a toaster by turning off our lights! Ingenious!
😂😂😂😂😂
The local police are like Wyatt Earp and his brothers. Feared, but the driver keeps going. Then the state Charger comes in like Doc Holliday joining the fight. The driver thinks he hears a faint "I'm your huckleberry" and immediately pulls over and gives up.
AWSOME love this!!!😂
@@Fritzie73 thanks!
It's "I'm your hucklebearer"
🤣👍
Clearly, the pit maneuver is a DETERRENT. THERE YA GO!!! GREAT JOB!❤
Why are you shouting?
@@opiumtrail7032 why do YOU think he is shouting? "a" right by the caps lock..judgy much
God do I love those ASP cruisers.... Smooth, that was smooth as silk!!!!
Now if other states will learn from Arkansas maybe, just maybe, criminals will learn that they don’t stand a chance. Good job officers!
When an ASP Charger comes up from behind, passing all the other police cars, the only thing missing is flames from the rear of the Charger.
Imagine being NLR Police and not being able to do anything about a slow moving transit van other than stay behind it. Glad the Director of ASP doesn't back down, or squirm from what others see as unpleasant questions about police interventions.
I live in OH and I wish our Troopers acted as Quick and Aggressive!!!! Great work and keep saving lives of the innocent drivers!❤❤❤
When 1 cruiser passes all the others, it's time 2 give up.
Like an avenging angel, Trooper Permenter arrived and quickly showed the bad guy that running was a bad idea. 😆
The subjects first mistake was breaking the law. The second mistake was taking it onto the ASP highway! That HAD TO be a suspect that KNEW what that insanely fast car with the blue lights meant 😆
he watches these videos too
ASP has chased people all over the place. Including through city streets. Those knuckleheads in Little Rock just can't seem to understand that running is gonna get them in FAR worse trouble.
Absolutely excellent police work by all of these Officer's!!!!. I've seen Officer Permenter several times and she does not play!!! Excellent work by all of these Officer's!!! They really should let the puppy go and play!!! Poor little puppy just wants to make his handler proud!!!
Keep up the good work officers. That includes those effective pit maneuvers. Respect! 💙
Criminals are afraid of the consequences of their actions? Where do these crazy new ideas come from?
1600 Pennsylvania Ave. Washington, DC.
Washington and the streets from kids that do not have real men aka fathers teaching manhood aka right from wrong and beating that a$$ when they act a fool. You immediately know what you got when they jump out of the car saying "CALL MY MAMA"
Well at least one driver had the good sense to recognize that they ether stop on their own,or get pitted. They were fine with the city, and county police, but the site of that Trooper was apparently more than they were willing to resist.👍 Now That’s What I Call Intimidation Factor! Drop the bravado and face the reality or risk potentially assuming room temperature! In this case the better option was accepted.
I can only imagine how much the local wrecker companies love the ASP and their phenomenal PIT-ing skills! 💸💸💸
Dude KNEW what coming and by whom...lol. I LOVE it!!!
Obviously a case of "Oh crap it's ASP and it's gonna hurt!" Smarter than the average felon this one. 😜
God bless our deputies everywhere blue and brown 🟤🔵 forever ♾️ thank you for your service and dedication
And for falsifying reports, shooting the elderly during welfare checks, and killing pets.
Why isn't the law changed so that these idiots who run from the police, have them sent to prison for 3 years with no possible parole. Since they have proven that they don't care about innocent people.
As usual ASP does not disappoint. Nice to see law enforcement take the gloves off, and apply the FAFO rule.
HA! That buckle up, drive safely sign on the right!
Excellent work by all, especially Trooper Permenter. It's just too bad that the puppy didn't get to play tag with the miscreant. I would have liked to see a taser dance lesson too. Nothing makes me smile like a perp in the dirt floppin' and twitchin'!
That driver knew what was coming next.😂
In the next couple of months I'll probably be driving through Arkansas to see my grandson graduate from Army basic at Fort Leonard Wood. You can bet I'll be driving very careful through Arkansas and sure as hell pull over if I do something stupid to get stopped. 😁😁😗
Put your stash in a Crown Royal bag and hide it between the seats. Under your gun.
tout c'est bien passé Bravo !
The Drive safely, buckle up sign was like icing on the cake
Why block the guilty from being seen
Especially when his name is in the description.
Just a guess but he might have been transporting drugs down I-40 and is now cooperating with the authorities. Names can be changed, but faces are a little harder.
Ya they over use blurr outs. It is also an under pressure from "CZcams Gilstapo's" as well. Censorship sux.
The NLR Police Dept. blurred the suspect. The redaction/blur was not made by this channel.
The NLR Police Department must be woke.
ASP reputation is starting to reach these perps. When ASP shows up time to give up and save yourself from a PIT!
That was honestly so fkn impressive. From the dispatcher all the way down to the K9, very well executed.
LOLOL!! The "Buckle up, Drive Safely" sign
Trooper was like Relax fellas, I got this!😂
he knew "pit into bridge abutment" was authorized once he seen ASP
You go Kari! Good job!
WHO ?
“Oh man. Here comes ASP. I’m just gonna pull over.”
Yup. Word is getting out.
Good job as always Arkansas. 💪
Way to go Officers 🇺🇸🙏🏻
When he saw her fly up on the left and take over primary, he knew exactly what time it was.
Excellent job
In Melbourne Australia a pit manoeuvre would have saved ten lives in Bourke Street Melbourne
Well done
Was looking forward to some Puppy Num Num time
Looked like the Sherwood and Little Rock Police were afraid to get near the van. ASP to the rescue.
More departments needs to do PIT maneuvers. Of course, they need proper training. Send them to Arkansas
I saw the recent video/newscast about their training facility. I'm willing to bet no other state has anything close to this facility or training standards.
FL and GA might. GA does a real good job of TVI'ing themselves. @@johnortmann3098
I'm proud of our State Troopers. When I saw that Trooper take the lead, I knew it wouldn't last long. 😃
I can't believe that it took this long to figure out that ASP doesn't play...
❤WOW, none of those residents are yielding to the city officers, like they just know where the suspect is going, the cities aren't run like the state, fortunately. Governor Huckabee is tight with ASP ❤
Love the teamwork!! 😎👍
Cops LOVE, LOVE, LOVE those pursuits!
That looks like a training session, no contact with AST and the driver anticipated Keri, then just gets out while the SUV rolls into the median? Good job anyway, Trooper Permenter!
Damn, 'ol Keri was bookin'.
When you have a couple cop cars right behind you with the party lights on, you can assume that your blackout move isn’t working.
I do believe this driver watches CZcams didn't even bother to put the vehicle in park
I'm not blaming the local rank and file bot those so called chases are akin to a parade with a perp as grand marshal until ASP shows up!!
That guy said uhoh Keri is her and will pit my ass out I better just stop.
The van's like "no I don't want to press charges, I'll just be on my way, thanks".
I've only passed through Arkansas once and that was along I-40 but one place stood out and that was the First Pentecostal Church Of North Little Rock as seen in this video as with so many others.
I am always amazed when I watch ASP videos. People in Arkansas don't, as a rule, yield to emergency vehicles. I find that astonishing.
Great job ASP AS ALWAYS
Now that is OUTSTANDING TEAM WORK , ASP troopers don't play
Good video!
Puppies should get a free bite every time somebody runs
why didn't they switch the camera views to the first car in the chase during the first part of the video so we don't get blinded by the flashing lights from the other police car.
Not all City Police in Arkansas have dash cams. Saw this in one episode when Trooper ask for the dash cams and they didn't have any.
It amazes me that people with slow cars think that they can escape the Law !?!!😢😢😅😂🎉
Those vans can actually go pretty fast. Not faster than highway patrol cruisers certainly, but they can keep up 90+ MPH
🐓 and with good reason! Maybe the message is getting through 🤔
Good job Officers 👍🏻
Did he really think he was gonna out run the police in an Astro 'Shaggin Wagon" Van?
Nothing like trying to run from police in a toaster van.
Eggo Waffles anyone? Lol
This guy was like Inspector Clouseau in "The Return of the Pink Panther" movie when he ran that little red van into someone's swimming pool. 😄
When city is on the radio giving speed, location and traffic and here comes the trooper with Avenged Sevenfold maxed out on his AirPods.
"Pull over for you city cops? Nah."
"Oh sh!t, it's the ASP!!"
Stops and jumps out with his hands up so quickly that he forgets to put it in park. LOL
Some people are getting the message.
Lol he's def watched youtube 😂😂 As soon at that ASP trooper took over he saw the pit coming and said f that lol
As an Arkansas resident, taxpayer, and law abiding citizen, I want a string, effective and honest police force.
If that means deadly force is employed with predudice, from physical hands on, firearm, or vehicle (PIT/TVI), or Less Than Lethal, hands on, projectile, "Taser", K-9, etc.
I have voted "Aye".
Carry on.
Thank you, and be safe out there...
As a fellow AR resident, and LR resident, I endorse this message 100%
that perp must have seen what happens when ASP joins a pursuit. he changed his tune real fast 😂
Well done as usual but why pixelate the driver?
It ends right next to the Drive Safely sign. LOL
If only the prosecutors were as aggressive as the police so the police don't have to arrest the same people time after time after time. Running from police should bring at least a 10 year sentence and since they ran, they shouldn't be able to bail out before trial.
Love it! Loved the recent k8 news segment too. It’s a John Wayne kina message, don’t “F” with the ASP. Obey the law or meet accountability, plain and simple.
Tiny young woman with MAAD driving skills--YOU GO, GIRL!!!
Ya don't never wanna mess with them Arkie Troopers! Ya ain't never gonna win!
Maybe this guy was a physics major (ha ha) and realized the jig was up when he saw the trooper preparing for a PIT, knowing full well that a spin-out in a top heavy vehicle would not be a good outcome for him.
Love how they are learning that when ASP shows up it's better to just pull over and get the cuffs on.
Give em 👏👏👏👍👍👍 everytime.
14:58 Pats her on the side of the arm and almost knocks her over. Hilarious. Good thing she has the dog to protect her.
Why was the suspect blurred out?
Sounds like that Tahoe is only hitting on 7.
7:50 Fear the ASP! 👮🚓👍
Well done.
Always remember that the perp always has the option to do what the rest of us does; slow down, pull over, stop and put your hands on the wheel at 10 to 2. You don't want to comply? OK, that'll be Option B and ASP Troopers.
I sure do wish the gps date time location speed and Officer's info was on rhe windshield!!!
Word’s getting out about the ASP! As soon as this a55hole saw the ASP cruiser next to him he was out. Didn’t even wait to put the vehicle in park!
Is the driver nekkid? Why the pixels? Yes, I su'pose the agency did it. Driver is Christopher Gilliam, I had a friend Chris Gilliam in grade school decades back
I wanted the pit😭😭😭
Wow. He was so scared, he pixelated. 😂
God protect you all
There was a time when officers would visit schools and display pictures of fatal accidents. And the booking rooms at police stations had pictures posted of dismembered people from drunk driving and chase accidents. And we had less DEI and chases. By not educating the people of the truth and reality. You might as well put warnings to not do something. In the same category as just say no to drugs.
