I like the page of the bike with flowers in the wheel. Here in Holland lots of people put baskets on the back and front of old bikes, put them in the front garden, then fill the baskets with trailing ivy and pretty flowers.

In her earlier books there has been mostly flowers so it is good to see her trying some new style.
I have all of her books, and only one was just flowers. I'm not sure what you mean
@@scifigrl23 I think you do. Secret Garden was just flowers of course, but I think she brings flowers in most of her books, and drawings. It is like her trademark or something.
@@SuperStrangSshadow So what if it is? This book has flowers too. I'm just confused what you mean by "mostly flowers." That implies 90% flowers when it completely is not.
Edit to add I just counted pages from her other books and each have about 80 pages, and each have equal to, or less than 15 pages which include even ONE flower.
@@scifigrl23 if you look at her other books it is flowers on most of the pages. It is is in this book too but not as much. Not gonna argue aboiut flowers or discuss this any further since you won't undetsand what I mean. Got better things to do.

YES! I've had my eye on this but since we can't see what's inside on amazon I've been hesitant.

It's good to see that Johanna Basford gives free advance copies of her colouring book to the same colourists year in, year out. Is there no one else worthy of this. And I'm not knocking you Chris for receiving this, I just don't think it's fair that she gives freebies and advance copies of her books to her artist friends and not colourists, cos newsflash johanna, most people who buy you're books are colourists, not artists. You're work is superb btw and please don't think this is aimed at you, it's aimed at Johanna and her unfair practices!!

Why did some of the CZcamsrs already have the book? I pre-ordered in october last year and don't get any book? That's not fair.
She sends copies a couple of weeks early to CZcams colorists to help promote it.

I've not received mine yet, wanted to wait and see what it was like. It looks nice but the fact that there are images on both sides of the pages bothers me. I thought she had set the rules for colouring books but guess not. Also the paper doesn't look as good as her later books. Some people who use media other than colour pencils will be ticked off!
You don't need to worry about the paper, if anything it's actually a bit better.
@@eleanordixon9678 Thank you for the reply! The paper is not up to the quality of her last four books. Improved to accommodate people who wanted to use media other than colour pencils. It doesn't bother me I have so many colour pencil sets to fill it, but I also have markers, watercolour pencils and Neocolor II. If you have found any of these can be used in this book let me know. I believe she has let a number of her followers down by putting images on both sides of the page and reducing the quality of paper, named after her, in the US editions.
@@bostonblackie9503 I use water based markers have never had an issue with bleeding or tearing of the paper. Unless you are pouring glasses of water every time you paint, the paper is fine.
