I shielded a semihollow by fitting a plastic bag around all the pots and selector switch. The outside of the bag was covered with aluminum foil taped on the outside and tied to a grounding wire run to pickups, whammy frame, saddle, and jack. Took patience, but gave MAJOR noise reduction.
I found it helps a lot too. Especially when recording close to amps or monitors. I bet shielding your hollow body was quite the project! Definitely a fun project to do yourself!
