Minivan Camper Conversion Build Update 🚐💨
Here you can see the 2nd cabinet I’ve built for this minivan camper conversion build going inside a 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan R/T.
🚐 A minivan camper conversion is when you take a 6- or 7- passenger minivan and convert it into the ultimate setup for camping and sleeping inside.
🚐 Converted minivans, or minivan camper conversions, typically fall into 2 types: build or no build.
1. No build means that you have not “built” anything for your minivan. You use already made items like a cot to sleep on, an already made kitchen chuck box, a cooler, camp chair, etc. Nothing was built with your own two hands.
Pros are:
-Carpentry skills not required
-Can be customized to your wants
Cons are:
-Items can be pricier vs. creating it yourself
-Sometimes choices are limited
2. On the other hand, a minivan camper “build” has pieces that you actually built yourself. Like a platform bed, level flooring, privacy curtains holder solution, window blackouts, kitchen cabinet, storage cabinets, etc.
Pros are:
-Fully customizable to your exact wants
-Cheaper doing it yourself over time
Cons are:
-You have to learn basic carpentry with just a few tools (Also a Pro becausr now you can do side carpentry gigs the more you practice it)
-Takes longer to build vs. buying a pre-made kit for $1000s
