Here is our full performance from the Final of the Big Deal!
What an honour it is to make it to the final with so many incredibly talented people surrounding us in this competition the whole way through! It means the absoloute world to us that we got this far and were so happy with what we were able to achieve on this journey!
For the final, we decided to go back to dancing more as a unit rather than facing off against each other like we did in the Semi Final. Although we do think we showcased our versatility in the Semi Final, the judges thought we were stronger when we danced together, so that is what we are going for. We mixed 3 of our favourite tracks together to put our choreography to and we absoloutley love what we were able to put together!
We are obviously disappointed to not have won The Big Deal, but we are so delighted with the journey we had in this competition and cannot wait to see where we go next. We want to say a huge congratulations to Lissette Krol on her stunning performance that took home the top spot last night in the final!
It was always a dream of ours to take part in a talent competition like this, because for years we have danced together and have never had the opportunity to compete on the biggest stage as The Gardiner Brothers. Not only that, but we wanted showcase Irish Dancing to a wider audience and to challenge peoples perception of what they know Irish Dancing to be. For the past 18 months of the pandemic, we have been dancing every day together and on social media and we thought this would be an amazing opportunity to put what we have worked on, onto a stage! What better stage than the historic 3 Arena stage in Dublin!? We think the talent in this competition was INSANE and it was an honour to be next to 5 incredible acts in the Final. We know all of our paths will cross again and we cant wait for that some day!

I thought you two did really well! I just thought the stage was too dark to see your feet. I thought maybe the lighting should highlight your feet or have some lights on your tap shoes to see your tapping. To show how fast your feet are moving.
Lighted shoes would have really showed off their footwork!

As a mom who takes my young son to Irish Dance lessons every week, thank you for showing him (and the rest of the world) what is possible with hard work and dedication! 😀

Most jobs are important and benefits humanity in one way or another although some make a more direct impact.

Once again, phenomenal work from you two!! I don’t think the stage, colors, lights and back up dancers did you justice. It was overly produced when you two kicking arse is all that’s needed. Nonetheless, congratulations and congratulations on River Dance!

I stumbled upon your "Staying Alive" dance vid on social media a couple of days ago, and I was absolutely blown away. Although I am a jazz, contemporary and ballet trained dancer; I have been surrounded by tap and Irish dancing for many years at my studio, and have always adored it!! You both did an absolutely fantastic job, and should be very proud of how well you both performed! 👏 I showed a few of your dance vids to my boyfriend (he's not a dancer, so it takes a lot to wow him), and he was blown away by your synchronisation! Very impressive you two!! 💚 Good job!
The music drowned you guys out. Part of your talent is how unbelievably in sync you two are, and how the tapping rhythms add to the music. The dark stage also made it hard to appreciate how fast you're really moving

Very very good point. The legs and footwork blended into the stage. When you do your outdoor shots, especially those at that walled lane, we truly can see you. Great job boys!

This is a difficult style of dance and doing it synchronized would make the sound of any missteps stand out. Love watching these two.
Whenever I watch you guys dancing (almost every day), I find myself smiling and taping my feet. You just make my day better and help to lift my depression! Never underestimate the wonderful gift you are able to give others through your dancing.
Here in Boston--despite "following" on Twitter, didn't find out about this til a day ago...haven't found how to hear judges actual comments after your 2nd dance, but got the jist they felt 2nd dance strayed too far from traditional syncopation---I was shocked to hear that & SOOOOO Disagree w/that evaluation--I thought that performance was a MARVELOUS, WONDERFUL SURPRISE--it showed your talents as choreographers/storytellers--it showed your creative use of the dance/how its traditional/classic alphabet can be a paintbrush for modern times/& energizing to young people who may reflexively dismiss it off as too stiff/too staid. It was a wonderful & excellent demonstration of your multi/expanding talents & skills; your huge enthusiasm for bringing it to more people by building bridges to modern music, thereby expanding its great green landscape vs making it always "heel!"/stay in a proscribed smaller, sometimes, somewhat too-predictable rigid box. I say, YAY! Keep letting it flourish inside AND outside the lovely traditional box as you're creative imaginations flow, grow the dance & expand appreciation for its beautiful richness. BRILLIANT, JUST BRILLIANT🥰

These guys are so incredibly talented and have truly modernized classic Irish dancing, brought the "hip" back to it. Other than the stage being too dark and the lighting being off, what would really set themselves a part is wearing lighter pants and tap shoes. Maybe even to where the shoes light up so that your eyes stay attracted to their foot movements. It would be a stunning sight to watch them be lit up!
