The 1945 V Nickel is the Victory over Germany coin and that looks like a very nice example.

I figured that's what the V was for. There are some nice & damaged examples. Still fun to look through. Thanks buddy.

The one with the square hole you asked about is a Japanese good luck coin that will bring you Health and Wealth. You have to put a Red String through the hole and hang it somewhere to bring the Power of the coin. I'll send you an email with the information.

I got your email. Thank you. There are a bunch of those luck coins. I could make a necklace. It seems like the date ranges anywhere from the 1600's - 1800's.

1st coin is a Japanese yen. You can use Google lens to identify the coins.

I use Coinoscope, but it would take too long to look up all the coins for this hunt. I'm mainly looking for errors. At the same time, checking out some older foreign coins.

Most well 95% of my Foreign coins are from Coinstar Machine Reject slot recovery and I do have a lot from all over the World Japan, China, Great Britain, Canada, Germany, Philippines, Belgium, Switzerland you name it I probably have it. My 1945 V Nickel is in pristine condition that a seller on eBay sent me about 2 years ago because I bought a bunch of coins from and got it as a free gift then I got a 1943 V Nickel that is a Tomback kinda Brass looking with an error on it. I've looked up most of what I have and I have only a few expensive ones like the 1945 V Nickel is in the best of shape Uncirculated. I've got the very last 12 sided Canadian Penny in fabulous shape that is worth a few bucks. I just like the history behind most of them.

You had mentioned that before. I've found a fair share of foreigns on Coinstars as well, but they're pretty modern. I've been wanting to hunt some older foreigns. So when I saw the bag I was pretty excited. I think I came across a 1943 Canadian nickel? It looked bronze in color. Not the zinc coated steel like the others. That'll be in a few videos out. Maybe it's also a Tomback?

The varieties are like very small what we would call insignificant but Major to them.... Some are just a simple dot around the date or an extra water line or a line that touches a letter or number to make it a hanging number. I usually watch North Central Coins here on CZcams with a guy named Daner really good and really Honest and Excellent Content....

I know some of the types, but not the exact varieties or dates. I watch CAD roll hunter. His content is fun & informative as well.

I know nothing about foreign except Canadian coins. But I have had great luck finding out what foreign coins that I have received are by simply entering the date and words on the coin into Google. Coins that don't have the English alphabet on them are something that I still don't know how to identify.

Jackalope, you can download the Coinoscope app. All you do is take a picture of the coin, and it will bring up a list of things to look at. I could do that here, but it would take even longer. I could do a whole other series with these coins identifying them. Check out the app. It's really helpful.

@@DWCNC Yeah, I've heard about that app. I just don't get enough foreign coinage to get my lazy butt to download it. 😂

Pretty cool finding a foreign doubled die. I wonder if it's a recognized variety?

I'm curious as well. I don't even know where to begin to look.
