Mazda is a niche product, so having a near-luxury product is an angle that will make more money, as long as they continue to sell cars. Making Mazdas that are just variations of Subarus or Toyotas does nothing to set them apart. The upmarket push is probably smart. The CX-5 we own is much nicer than what you get at Honda for the same money, even if the Honda has more room and higher mpg. The CX-90 is a step up when you look at competitors.

I believe "in between luxury and normal" is the needle that Mazda has successfully threaded the last 10 years.
Their strategy worked -- sales have increased YoY along with market share. They're tweaking it by trying to go more 'upscale'. They've stated so much and their latest lineup proves it.

P0126 code for the thermostat. It's a $400.00 part. A known problem of which the car dealers don't want to mess with. I have a 2019 CX-5 2.5 liter non turbo. The warranty is terrible. Other than that, it's a good car. Buying parts is expensive. Word of advice- Don't give any customer experience surveys if bought new from a dealership. They kept pressuring me to complete it quickly. I did, and things started going wrong with car, like reflectors falling off the vehicle. Then it's crickets out of these people. Drove it for 5 years (it was a mid 90's Ford Taurus) and never had to do anything major other than brakes and tires after about a year. Ran decent.
