I tried the 3rd method. Typed 1st command it was successful but after i typed the 2nd command it said "source file could not be found" Use the "source" option to specify the location of the files that are required to restore the feature. The DISM log file can be found at C:\WINDOWS\Logs\DISM\dism.log I got this above message
My computer was working fine but today after i turned my computer on it started showing message like "scanning and repairing for disk C" something like that i dont remember the exact message. After this my taskbar icons were missing and i could not open "This Pc" My computer became less responsive after it did the "scan and repair" thing

SIMPLY: sometimes on gaming PC/laptops/keybords it simply push FN button + Windows or FN + F1....F10, you need to see what secondary button turn on gaming mode and lock Windows button, or see you keybord/laptop specifications

You missed the EASIEST one on this...login with an alternate administrator account and rename or delete the WINDOWS folder under your user profile App Files/local/microsoft. Re-logon with your profile and windows will build a new windows folder and your start button will be restored. This is particularly easy in a network environment - and turn off roaming profiles, they're no longer valid in Win10-up.

The Start menu , Windows Explorer files, folder short cuts etc including icons on the task bar, and Task Manager are not working after the PC crashed yesterday when my house had a power outage. In Task Manager, none of the "processes" show up. Looking for solutions on line. Once getting to Option 3 on this video, the Powershell procedure stopped at 39% with a message saying " operation cannot be completed". I closed powershell and tried again and it stopped at 39% with the same message. I'll go to the next option, but if you have any suggestions, I'd be thrilled. .... Thanks.

Nothing worked for me (I didn't want to reinstall windows, didn't do that part). For whatever reason though, start menu full screen works for me. Right-Click taskbar, Taskbar Settings -> Click "Start" on the left -> turn on the option for "Use Start Full Screen". Takes a hot minute or 2 to get use to, but has been working fine. Click the start menu to open up. Click it again to close. There is a pinned tiles view, and view All Apps view. Should be able to find what you are looking for.
So, I watched about 10 videos to help me with this issue. I am running Windows 10 on Hyper-V. Your videos was the only one that helped. The last option was the option that made it work. Thank you.

When I use the power shell option I’ve done all the things you said to do but when you showed how yours ran before you typed in sfc /scan now mine seems to have stopped at Image version: 10. 0.19042.1415 And isn’t loaded further than that for me to add sfc/scan now. I’ve given it around 20 mins and still no change is this normal or should I close and try a different option?

My Keyboard windows key started working after beating the shit out of my new mechanical keyboard, weird but a working solution. I tried all techincal steps and resorted to this final method.
Thx so much. The 3rd option worked for me. My while taskbar was dead. I saw no icons and whenever i clicked on it my screen would blackout. The 3rd option helped alot it took a while but it fixed a few corrupted files. So thankyou again for showing us these options. Your a life saver

Even I was not able to shut down, so I shut down the computer by using your technique. After shutting down, and restarting it started performing

My computer was working fine but today after i turned my computer on it started showing message like "scanning and repairing for disk C" something like that i dont remember the exact message. SIMPLY: sometimes on gaming PC/laptops/keybords it simply push FN button + Windows or FN + F1....F10, you need to see what secondary button turn on gaming mode and lock Windows button, or see you keybord/laptop specifications

You missed the EASIEST one on this...login with an alternate administrator account and rename or delete the WINDOWS folder under your user profile App Files/local/microsoft. Re-logon with your profile and windows will build a new windows folder and your start button will be restored. This is particularly easy in a network environment - and turn off roaming profiles, they're no longer valid in Win10-up.

An easier way to use the powershell option is to merely type
sfc /scannow
And it will do it… 👍

The Start menu , Windows Explorer files, folder short cuts etc including icons on the task bar, and Task Manager are not working after the PC crashed yesterday when my house had a power outage. In Task Manager, none of the "processes" show up. Looking for solutions on line.
Once getting to Option 3 on this video, the Powershell procedure stopped at 39% with a message saying " operation cannot be completed". I closed powershell and tried again and it stopped at 39% with the same message. I'll go to the next option, but if you have any suggestions, I'd be thrilled. .... Thanks.

Nothing worked for me (I didn't want to reinstall windows, didn't do that part). For whatever reason though, start menu full screen works for me.
Right-Click taskbar, Taskbar Settings -> Click "Start" on the left -> turn on the option for "Use Start Full Screen". Takes a hot minute or 2 to get use to, but has been working fine.
Click the start menu to open up. Click it again to close. There is a pinned tiles view, and view All Apps view. Should be able to find what you are looking for.
So, I watched about 10 videos to help me with this issue. I am running Windows 10 on Hyper-V. Your videos was the only one that helped. The last option was the option that made it work. Thank you.

When I use the power shell option I’ve done all the things you said to do but when you showed how yours ran before you typed in sfc /scan now mine seems to have stopped at
Image version: 10. 0.19042.1415
And isn’t loaded further than that for me to add sfc/scan now.
I’ve given it around 20 mins and still no change is this normal or should I close and try a different option?

My Keyboard windows key started working after beating the shit out of my new mechanical keyboard, weird but a working solution. I tried all techincal steps and resorted to this final method.
Thx so much. The 3rd option worked for me. My while taskbar was dead. I saw no icons and whenever i clicked on it my screen would blackout. The 3rd option helped alot it took a while but it fixed a few corrupted files. So thankyou again for showing us these options. Your a life saver

after years I fixed my issue. All I did is ctrl + alt + up arrow/ down arrow. This resizes the start menu and makes the menu appear!

Even I was not able to shut down, so I shut down the computer by using your technique. After shutting down, and restarting it started performing
