The only way that 'Have Yourself A Merry Litle Christmas' should be played, if ever played again, would be in the style of Jimi Hendrix's 'Star Spangled Banner'. Without doubt, the most depressing song ever written. I run from stores, and change channels at the first 3 notes of it. One must wonder why, with such lyrics, all but one singer - one arrangement - that manages to not have this song be other than accompaniment for a funeral, which, even that instance, should be banned as sadistic.
I have always been a massive Jamie Cullum fan and continue to be. I think his Christmas album is a masterpiece. I do wish to say I disagree with his comments on Baby It's Cold Outside. It was written with the more innocence of that time and is how it should be heard today. Why do we have to put everything into today's lens? It sometimes simply creates an illusion that is not true to original intentions. Still is just my opinion as I do think society is becoming over sensitive and when it means classic standards are overlooked I think that is really sad. Nevertheless still an awesome album but not everything in the past was bad just like everything in the modern world isn't right. For all the talk on bigotry we almost have developed a generational bias in the arts. Too much from me waffle sorry!

@@seasoul12 great question... it is as much about the reputation and the 'name' of an artist - as i have seen over my almost 60 years of loving music. To use the sample i gave before... 'old blue eyes' is n obvious reference to Frank Sinatraand will always be that way. 'The Piano Man' has been earned by a guy who is in the R&R Hall of Fame as just that... the piano man.So riddle me this... would Jamie Cullum, whose mosic and voice I very much enjoy, want to be in the R&R HofFame one day as 'the other piano man? Get your own reference or 'name' and earn it's reference.

@@MyHealthNetwork I agree with you. My first point is that surprise - Jamie is a man who plays brilliant piano - hmm, a Piano Man. Secondly, Billy Joel as an artist is called Billy Joel who wrote one song called The Piano Man.
If Harry Connick wanted to call himself a Piano Man that would be okay with me. No one artist owns an instrument as their own. So for me it is a non- issue.
