I was looking for a newer Mustang with the 5.0 and manual transmission. I kept seeing a low mileage electric green new edge convertible for sale. They kept lowering the price. I got on autotrader one night to look for that 5.0 I’ve been wanting and I seen they had the price on the 99 New Edge so low that I had to go buy it. I got an awesome deal on the car. I’m the proud owner of a gorgeous, low mileage, electric green 99 Mustang GT convertible. It’s on my channel.

I have said this many times in many places, the 96-04 is the PERFECT first car/v8 for people. The engine takes abuse well, and isn’t as finicky as a Coyote. They’re simple OHC engines, parts are C H E A P, reliable, and great to learn how to maintain your vehicle yourself.

Coyote isn’t finicky if you modify it correctly. Wish it was easier to find a decent 96-04 they look so nice.

@@tripleRyote I guess finicky isn’t the right word, unless you’re talking Gen 3. But a 5.0 is higher strung compared to a 2V. I’ve seen 4.6’s take waayyyy more hard abuse where as coyotes you have to treat nicer. A coyote is a great engine, for someone who isn’t just learning how to maintain an engine and knows to change their oil consistently, stay off limiter, let things warm up, whereas 4.6’s just kinda take all the abuse and keep chugging along.
@@L42776 it’s nothing to do with the mods, it’s just higher strung and has to be treated nicer than a 2V, Gen 3 10 speeds are just finicky out the box tho.

I sold my 2016 GT, for a 2004 Mach 1. While I miss some aspects of the '16, like the interior mostly. I can fully say I enjoy the 04 more. It has a more analog feeling and I think it turns more heads. The body style has aged incredibly well, not to mention brings me back to an era when life was calmer and made more sense 😂

Good call! It is great seeing a resurgence of New Edge content. I drove a Black-on-Black ‘03 Mach 1 off of the lot in Dec of ‘03. I drove the car to shows, in parades and on loops and in the middle of last year the car had 5,300 original miles. Following a serious cycling accident I made the decision that everything in my collections would be enjoyed through use. I sold my commuter car and have been daily driving the Mach 1 since and enjoying every mile.
There is something about driving a car in the absence of loads of driver aids that is incredibly pure.
@03Mach1-zv6im great way to word it. I honestly wouldn't mind daily driving my mach. And in the summer I usually do. It's a simple yet very enjoyable driving experience
I Remember, when the ‘99 came out.
I was a kid, went to the local Ford dealership, test drove an Electric Green 5-Speed GT. It had a tan leather interior… and the salesman asked me if I could drive a manual! I said sure I can… I eased out of the dealership. Drove it about 2 miles down the road . Went down a long dead end road and hit 120mph with my girlfriend. Had 260 hp …it seemed a lot back then, and the New Edge still looks great today.

Definitely don’t coyote swap it ! Thats the whole point of the nostalgia of what makes you want a new edge …. The 2V and how the 4.6 sounds.

Definitely keep it a 2v. Built, tfs heads, cams, lt’s, e85. Good content for those that know and those that don’t know the capabilities of a proper built 2v. And we seen enough fbo coyotes

My Procharged 01 ROUSH stage 2 is SICK ASF...!!! It is a 1 of 3 ROUSH build out of 176 total builds of all stages in that year due to a fire at the Roush gargage. I have always loved the New Edge Stangs and won't ever let one out of my life. I have had 15 Mustang's of various years from 1966-2018.The new edge is my favorite platform.

I have a 96 (sn95) and one thing I can say they do take abuse really well and super easy to fix and if you don’t know exactly how to do something on them there is always CZcams videos on how to fix it
Mine made 367 on 8psi back in the day. Since then it I went full send and built motor making 573 at 17psi. Sounds amazing with cams and Borla exhaust.

I just bought my 2004 GT for 2500 4 days ago and I completely agree. These cars are just so classic and they will always have a part of history in them.

This is a GREAT first car as well as CRUISER car! I had mine since 2009 and I'm from Dubai, back in the day; parts availability wasn't good, but nowadays and with popularity of the Crown Victoria and older F150s, parts are ok (engine parts only) , mine has been in Hibernation for quite some time now and watching your video makes want to go grab a battery and fire 'er up! 😍
So when I was a kid, I remember seeing NewEdges on the road and have always captured my attention and liked how they looked, back in the early 2000s; in fact I have a pic of a drawing I did when I was 13 that's supposed to be a NewEdge Mustang. Also the NewEdge was the very first car I had, even though I shared it, plus it was just a red V6 convertible.

My high school sweetheart got an 01 in the best color, that pewter gray metallic as her first car. There was no better feeling than pulling up in a brand new new edge in the early 2ks, I took it to prom too.
Even back then with minimal car knowledge I knew that we had the undesirable v6, but it was a manual and it looked so amazing.
2v life is not the easiest but it is the most fun in my opinion, ill see you in a few weeks to get my wheels from you and dont coyote swap the car, you already got 3 coyote cars. 5.4 4v in blue would be cool

Realistically a properly done coyote swap is the way to go makes for more content and a better platform in the end

I have an idea for her new power plant I did a triton v10 f250 motor in my 01 gt it's easy swap fits right in and you cam use blues blower on it all younmeed is the f250 ecu and harnes and get custom made headers to go around steering column they also make a Whipple supercharger for the v10
Love seeing the original OG back. I kinda dig black wheels and the other tail lights better and the side splitters need some attention but man I missed this car. First time I seen it was 2017 with the white letters on the tires that I still have pictures of and that was at hooters at mustang week…🤘🏻

Bro your new edge is probably one of the cleanest ones I seen on YT. I had an 03 in torch red. It was a V6 but I loved that car. I’m definitely thinking about getting another one in the near future. I’m not really really fond of the newer ones besides the 13-14 which I think were the last years the Mustang looked good, but I just want a good looking car and make it sound good… don’t really care if it’s not that fast. Loving the new edge content keep it up and it definitely looks better than a 24 in my opinion!!!
i think a high rpm 4.6 4v build would be interesting because you already have 3 coyotes to mess with.
SN95 was ok... but hated the seat. Couldn't never get comfortable and positioned too low.

Those silver wheels go super hard on that bright atlantic blue and the black accents bro the car looks super good way better than when you sold it last time and got it back. It kinda hurt me to see blue like that last time with the neglect but she does look good beautiful car bro.
I've had one for over 20 years now. While not fast to today's standards I would go just as fast as you did in the black 10 speed at the track on bolt ons with gears. They're a lot lighter than the new cars and I know guys running 10s with less power than blue 2v.

I don’t even care if they’re not fast or don’t have any modern tech. Actually, that’s why I like them. I’m familiar with the 4.6 since I own a crown Vic, so working on it isn’t to bad. I just also really like the styling of the new edge (SN95) mustangs. I’m saving to get a Mach 1 or a reasonably affordable bullet of the same generation

I'm buying my first car which is also my first mustang it's a 2003 gt valve obviously. My dad got me into the new edge style but I am buying it for 2500 dollars and it's in good condition runs drives
New edge IS sn95. S650 is its own chassis code even if it is based on the 550
I would not coyote swap blue. You have 3 coyote cars already. I’ve been watching since the beginning of the redo blue series. To me, I feel like the car wouldn’t have the same nostalgic factor. I would go for the built 2v route
Built 2v would be fire but idk if its worth all that money and headache when the coyote is legit turn key ready to rock

I think you should buy a 3v and do a build series because that is the only modern mustang you haven’t built yet.
Bro you should swap out the vortech and do an Eaton torque tech kit on blue. Not a crazy budget and you can make fun loud Eaton super charger sounds. Not to mention it should make pretty good power on the 2v

Shes looking good bro my first mustang was a 07 3v great car wasn't the fastest but was a reliable daily driver for years until it got totalled now I have my 2011 5.0 and foxbody but im seriously thinking about getting another 3v as a 3rd car i know this is a new edge video but i would definitely recommend the 05-09 3v mustang as a first mustang as well

I’m going to go against the grain, a built 2V motor will give a coyote a run for its money. Modular engines naturally make more torque so a pair of better flowing cylinder heads or Ported heads will get it cracking!

the mustang needs a serious hubcap paint job, maybe a blue that matches the rest of the car. i am extremely anoyed with that silver as it sticks out like sour thumb, i am betting ya many people would agree with me on this.
