    I ride around on a bit of the new kit for First Leeds and review the vehicle type, suitability as well as the benefits these new buses bring.

    Leeds City Transport buses back in the 50/60's as it was known then were green, then came the Metrobus green/white during the Metro/NBC years. Then once Yorkshire Rider came about, that were green/yellowish colour before being merged into Firstbus. Now were started to see the regional variations with Leeds back into green, and Bradford back into blue colours.

    Its like a lottery on getting those buses, also the Streetdeck electroliners. Instead of the whole route being allocated to all new buses, as what the Yutongs was allocated to on the 5 service, im now occasionally getting the Yutong on the 55 service, and also seeing on other services. Same with seeing the all-over branded Park&Ride buses going on other routes instead of park&ride service. There leads to confusion that your thinking its going to the park&ride terminal instead your finding its going to Middleton instead!🤦🏻‍♂️

    Ta Very Much for the shout! Loving these Kites and they're finding their feet quite well.
    There's 32 due (63569 to 63600) and have replaced an order originally placed with Arrival

    First Solent is receiving quite a few as well for the services down in Gosport and Fareham and they also will be for the eclipse service replacing the current street lights on the E1 and E2.
    Absolutely, we’re getting some of them in the first Solent livery

    I like the new gb kites but there really hard to stand up in if no seats are available, they set off so fast it makes it hard to hold onto the bars

    They will be entering service in Norwich soon - i Think Norwich will have the biggest electric bus fleet and capacity as in total of 70 electric vehicles 59 double-deckers Streetdeck Electroliner and 11 GB Kites although York is not far behind with pretty much an ALL Electric fleet.

    I think that the extra low floor and the extra tall windows with the batteries on the roof make them look far too tall, the ceiling looks really high!
    If the brought the ceiling down along with the floor, you could have the batteries in the roof but have a normal height,
    Anyway, I've enjoyed seeing some of these around as they've been introduced and definitely want to get a go on one at some point, it's just a shame they're not green

    The Kites in Leicester don't seem to have heaters, they're really cold

    Thought they would have painted them green like the youtongs I think they are called. Would have made more sense.

    You missed two other routes in Leeds that are using these new buses the 64 and 51/52 routes that come into Morley

    • @sohamedmalah6008
      @sohamedmalah6008 Před 5 měsíci

      the 51/52 are really busy routes, have they permanently changed to just using these new gb kites? or do they still allocate double deckers?

      @sohamedmalah6008 i was surprised to see this instead of the usual Streetdeck when i got my bus into leeds back in feb on the 51/2 service. Then the following month i got on the Streetdeck electroliner on the 24 reg.

    GB Kite Electroliners and StreetDeck Electroliners, not GB Kite and Electroliners.
