Huspa Plantation: Coastal South Carolina Paradise Surrounded by Water on 3 Sides!

- Huspa Plantation is located in Beaufort County along the coast of South Carolina and features 331.2 +/- acres along Huspa Creek. Huspa is often described as “inspiring,” “magical,” or even “heaven on earth.” Its angel oaks and alleys, coastal sunrises and sunsets, riverbanks and sweeping vistas are simply mesmerizing. Rarely do we find a combination like this for sale in Beaufort County.
1800s live oaks draped with Spanish moss extend a half a mile to the main house and campus. The main house and homesite is stunning and blends with the surroundings perfectly. It features over 4500 square feet of open floorplan living space. Vaulted ceilings and striking views from oversized custom windows in every room bring the outdoors into the home. Adjacent to the house is an outdoor swimming pool and guest house. Large gardens of camellias and ancient live oaks also surround the home. Within the campus are two storage barns, a 3 bedroom manager’s house, and tennis court.
For those with an affinity for horses, Huspa Plantation is a dream come true. There are miles of gorgeous trails, jumps, and paths to wander and explore. In the heart of the property lies a horse barn and round pen. There are over 30 acres of fenced pastures and a large riding arena.
The Plantation’s open savannas surrounded by live oaks would be ideal for quail courses. Deer and turkeys are regularly seen on the property, but are not often hunted. There are excellent spots for deer stands and food plots found throughout. On the South end there are even 3 +/- acres of controlled duck impoundments in a prime area for a mix of wild birds. Three ponds and deep-water access provide endless fishing opportunities for all types of fresh and saltwater fishing.
Huspa Plantation has an A++ location and the surrounding neighborhood is outstanding. Nearby Plantations include Brays Island, Bindon, Oak Grove, Tomotley, Sheldon, Twickenham, and many other historical properties. The North, East and South boundaries of the Plantation are bordered by water and marsh with deep water access providing a tremendous amount of privacy. To the West of the plantation is Brays Island Plantation. In fact, Huspa Plantation’s former owners, Mr. and Mr. Pingree, purchased Brays Island and would later develop the Plantation into the premier sporting community that it is today.
Huspa is centrally located between Charleston and Savannah, and both are about an hour way. Beaufort can be accessed by boat or car with similar distances around 15 miles. If quicker travel is desired, a 3500 +/- foot grass airstrip provides quick access to/from the Plantation. There are dual airplane hangers and a secondary 2000 +/- foot airstrip.
Huspa is protected by a conservation easement with Ducks Unlimited.
I love the way plantation houses look. Lots of land, long driveways, oak trees, etc. I just hate the history behind them! I hope one day I can build my own from scratch. :)

I live in Texas, but once was in Myrtle Beach, and I drove south for quite awhile, along the coast, and came across a parking area with a path going back into the woods and a chain across the entrance. An historical marker said something like, "At the end of this road is an abandoned mansion where George Washington slept." ...or something like that. I wanted SO bad to walk back there. However, there was a "No Trespassing" sign. Just as I was considering trespassing anyway, a highway patrolman drove slowly by and looked at me. So, I never got to see the abandoned mansion! Does anyone know where that might be, and what's back there? I may have gotten some of the details wrong. But I REALLY did want to go exploring!

Somone ruined the plantation house it seems, and turned it into a mid century modern home.
So where's the old plantation house???
Almost every home with the exception of a few were burned in 1865. The old house here would have sat at the end of the oak lane.

You can rest easy: this isn't a "real" plantation. It's a private hunting/country estate created in modern times.
My people been through so much more than any race in slavery. I ask God why we are the most hated just don't understand. That shit hurts it's hard being a black man in America.

My husband and I like to watch movies or documovies about the history of slavery in the South of USA. True stories about courageous slaves. No puns intended. Hope you are not offended.
I always feel, the ghosts of dead slaves roam around these plantation properties. It's a scary and sad feeling. Their souls trapped in this world. Not being able to cross to the other light in peace. Or, they didn't even know they were dead. That can happen.

This is where my ancestors were held as slaves. Shameful part of America’s past. Many, beatings took place. And no the water wasn’t for privacy it as to keep the slaves trying to escape.

Just choose to believe in Yeshua, He is the only begotten Son of God who died and rose three days later and loves all of you. He took God's wrath upon Himself, that was the punishment for everyone in sin. He died and rose to give you new life in Him. Born again, a new creation. By belief in Him alone you can be saved, you receive eternal life and you need to spend time with Him to know Him. Attend a church, read and obey scripture.
Be saved, free, forgiven, healed, delivered, baptized, whole and let Him show you how He is everything you need. He alone satisfies. You must believe, choose to believe in Him because you will spend eternity in hell if you don't believe. Seek God in scripture and learn who He is and obey His every word, live in obedience to the full gospel like you are supposed to. That is life more abundantly that Yeshua said in John 10:10
Obey scripture and live in God's blessings because disobedience brings curses, that's suffering like illness and demons, poverty and loss. Deuteronomy 28, it's about curses and blessings and there are other scriptures telling this truth too. See your worth in scripture too, see how God sees you, how He loves you and has plans for you..read it all and do so often. It's about God, how He is and how we are supposed to live and it does tell your worth, 💕. Trust God it is absolutely wise to do because He is faithful to every word and wants us to be faithful to every word.
