After spending 30+ years in the booth, 19 as as the 'Voice of the Bills', Murph discusses his reasoning for stepping aside, his recovery from a stroke he suffered last year, and what the future holds for him on Bills broadcasts.

best play by play guy in the league. i lived in LA for 11 years and i'd listen to the radio broadcast every sunday. if the game was on tv i'd always watch the tv on mute and listen to murph.
glad to see murph again. seems like he's doing good and is healthy and will be able to live and enjoy his life. his speech will get better. sad to see him go from the play by play radio broadcast.

Thank you Murph! If I ever had the opportunity to listen to the broadcast on radio, that was my choice. Living out of state, was hard to find but there were ways. You grasped Van's Mike and ran with it, whether you believe or not. Wish you the best. We know you aren't fully retired lol. Go Bills!

Murph, you mentioned that you weren't sure about a career with the Bills past the radio! I believe you could still write opinion piece's! Think we would still hear your voice through the written word! Both my mother and grandmother had strokes within a calendar yr of each other.
With the technology available to us today, you're spoken word could even be translated into scrip. I'm a life long fan of you and the Bills. You've been there basically as long as I can remember! God bless! I look forward to hearing from you in regards to the Bills and life in general in WNY!

It's really too bad. It was right about the time when the new medical procedure was rolled out. No one will know if that was the cause, but we will all miss John. I hope he can get on the radio or make some appearances here and there. Godspeed to the recovery John.
