I love the French look you’re going for lately, so soft and pretty! You make a great team! I’m thinking maybe it would be a good idea to give the buyer the little door in case they want to fix it, I know it wasn’t worth it to you, though.
You could put a pretty floral decal in center of the front medallion and it would look great!👍

Zeb could you place the hinges on the other side of the door and glue the piece of wood back on to make the door workable? I couldn’t really see the door up close to tell. The results was Beautiful!
Might be able to but we also felt the space was more functional for modern use without the door. 😊

I have a similar secretary - mine has two uprights (yours look like wood salt and pepper shakers) on the inside like yours shown at minute 2:03 they pull out like secret compartments, maybe yours does also.

You could of glued the piece back on the door and then flipped the door over so the stroke not glued side would be on the hinged side.
Personally I liked it the way it was the best, but great job anyway.
I would have left the doors on. And sprayed all the interior white. But it is a very nice piece. No wonder you sold it so fast.
I contemplated doing all white but wanted to stay true to the contrast of the natural wood on my inspiration pic. 😊❤️

Can you glaze instead of water with DIY Paint? I love how transparent the finish is using glaze, plus it is a strong top coat.
You could but I don’t know if it would move enough to blend like the water did.
How do not get the paint to come off when you wax? I almost always get added destress when I wax...please help!! Thank you.

Like the outside painting but am disappointed with the look of the inside. The white knobs don’t work and it would look great with the blue and white paint. Am looking forward to tonight’s episode.

Why didn’t you clean the inside out. Before painting the wee areas ?
I had swiped at them but knew I was going to have to give it a little scrub from paint overspray here and there.
What happened to the doors?
We still have them. We may make a tray out of the one that isn’t warped as bad.
What brand sprayer do you use?
Purple harbor freight HVLP made by central pneumatic. It’s their cheap one.

I just dont understand how anyone could paint that. It's criminal. I know I'm old. But that was a gorgeous antique. I dont understand how anyone could just paint a really pretty wood.

Now that I'm done ranting like the old lady that I am... it is beautifully painted. Regardless of my grumbling about the sins of painting real wood, it is really pretty and slowly growing on me.
It’s that ever present argument. (Monet painted all of his furniture) Perception is in the eye of the beholder and all that... 😊❤️
