This animation was made by one man, essentially on his spare time only, and done purely for the art (ie, no money made off it). If you knew ANYTHING about animation, that's awesome enough. Then take into account the physics-defying, fast-paced action and animation that takes place... it's no wonder people were cheering, the same way people cheer at film/video game/tv moments that they really like
If you can't even comprehend why people were cheering, than clearly you fail at basic understanding
Gosh, the crowd adds soo much to the excitement. I swear, everytime I watch it with the crowd's reaction, i get goosebumps. =)
Well I'm glad Monty didn't use Anima since Anima is over powered and all.She would had killed Kasumi and her clones with a blink of her freaking EYE! Then there wouldn't be a battle at all. XD
I'm glad no one noticed the two shots of Cloud before he showed up. Would've ruined the surprise for the crowd.
You gotta admit, that Cloud has some wicked presence.
He shows up for 10 seconds and everyone is driven insane.
The "WHAT?!" at 2:10 sums up that moment so perfectly.

I'm a huge CloudxYuna fan so seeing Cloud come in to save Yuna made my day.
I so felt the crowd's excitment! When Ixion and Shiva appeared someone yelled "VALEFOR", and when Valefor appeared (also Bahamut) everyone went like WHUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!
And ofc when Cloud made his appearance! Got me all excited!! 5*
Monty said at a panel he did at Anime Boston is that he takes some parts of the characters off so he doesn't take anymore time animating an extra peice of a character. If you look closely you can see that gunner Yuna is missing her braid.
No and yes. The person on the motorcycle is Cloud, the main character in Final Fantasy VII, but in Crisis Core, the main character is Zack, Cloud's best friend.

i think the reason he saved Yuna imo is because of the opening text when he said " i trust her" hes referring to Tifa, and when he said "you...remind me of someone", i think he's referring to Yuna reminding him of Aireth...maybe...thats just my opinion.
AntithesisRebirth you are a very smart guy lol. I didn't catch any of what you said on Kasumi's behalf until I watched it over and over again. Happy to know that I am not the only Kasumi lover here lol.

I've been looking for the live presentation of the first Dead Fantasy here on CZcams, but I can't find it. I saw it once on Gametrailers, and the crowds reaction was INSANE!! Seriously, I got goosebumps watching it. XD

That was, like, some sort of residue that was covering her eyes, so that her vision would be reduced. Sort of Monty's way of incorporating the spell/status effect "Blind."

Cloud was the one talking in the beginning, I think. The person he "trusts" is Tifa, since in DF V there's a scene where she tells him "Trust me." The only reason I can think of why he's there is just that the flower field is a reference to Aerith.
He does it as a hobby. He doesn't take money from it. In otherwords he's a damn awesome guy.
Cloud's entrance was so freakin' epic.
He killed 20+ Kasumi clones with that Braver.
The reaction to Cloud was brilliant.
The scream when Cloud came on scared the living crap outta me!

@Sohryuden666 Along with what Tekkaman AKA Tatsunoko reference said, remember it takes a lot of energy for Yuna to summon one Aeon, let alone 5 all at once. Each one will be proportionately weaker as the number grows.

Yeah. I love watching with other people. For me, it feels more nostalgic when you can hear and see everyone's reaction.
I remember seeing Dead Fantasy 2 with a crowd but I don't remember seeing Dead Fantasy 1. Meh I missed it.
I love how everyone screamed when cloud came out, they were all like "OHHHAHFIAFHAOJFAIJAO SHIT JAGFPAOJKAFOPKP"

Oum will release a DVD once he's finished. He did it for the first 3 Dead Fantasies. Think of these as a sneak preview.
Hey remember that monty is going to be premiering the full versions of Dead Fantasy 3, 4, and 5 at the Expo on July 2-5 so look for it then.
i think kasumi clones didnt blow out bahamut but they teleported bahamut's body parts. torn him to pieces..
Oh and a shocking grand appearance of the most favored Final Fantasy character ^^
That is exactly what I was thinking. Everybody is complaining about Cloud jumping in but that means we most likely will be seeing him fight Ryu which will be a badass fight.

All three of those fighters had someone they had to say goodbye to.
So it doesn't simply apply to Cloud. Yuna said good-bye to Tidus, Kasumi said good-bye to Hayate, and yes, Cloud to Aerith/Aeris.
Hence why Kasumi let go of the cherry blossom in remembrance of leaving her family and being subject to being hunted down by the people she loves, the blossom changing into the sparkly thing is for Tidus disappearing at the end of FFX.
I'm surprised no one ever caught that. =P
Those anyone have any idea when the finished DFs are gonna be shown at the ANime Expo in LA?
They laughed because Kasumi released a petal from her hand like Rinoa did during the intro to Final Fantasy VIII. It was basically a homage to the game.

I got that already. Long ago. Just some people started pointing something out like they didn't expect characters from NG to appear since they weren't featured in DoA.
Oh well, I'm not complaining. The more the merrier.

The way it went from when Kairi wakes up on destiny islands to the FF8 intro tribute, yuna changing dressphere to her summoner outfit, shiva riding ixion, all the other standard aeons, the shit loads of kasumi clones and then just when it looks like yuna's done for, cloud rides in on fenrir and obliterates the kasumi clones with braver/blade beam like zack fighting genesis copies! Fucking Epic As Hell!
I thought that Monty didn't want to animate guys. I'm happy he made Cloud appear though :)

Monty wanted to introduce more FF8 characters, but since he stated that no character, aside from Rinoa and Squall, had a very deep involvement with the plot.

You know what that's actually pretty obvious, but I'm so caught up in everything I failed to register that. Anyway, I wonder what happens now then...Do you think this is where they learn, or suspect, an underlining plot and team up once they've all overcome the clones? Monty did mention how there is a story involved.
