It's just fun upbeat rock and roll like you hardly hear nowadays, or like many people think (me included), you haven't heard for decades. These ladies are nothing less than amazing!
I would recommend 'Thrill' as a music video, which, even though it's almost 7 years old, is where everything really started after it went viral online, or maybe 'Dice' which I think is also a good 'entry song' to the wonderful world of these Ladies. :)

Blooming, Manners, Warning, Rinne, and Different are all excellent studio videos.
Drum Solo? No you have to do 'Freedom' LIVE from that same show. But it you want studio songs, 'Rinne' is their heaviest, most Metal influenced song. And 'Blooming' is such a Power Pop masterpiece it could be an Anime Theme. They have anime songs, but it's not one, yet.
For MVs, check out Blooming, Dice, Rinne, and Warning. However, the Maids really shine in their live performances. Freedom, Moratorium, Play, and Onset are excellent choices there.

Miku Kobato - mee-KOO - Kuruppo, the Little Pigeon, the Little Engine Who Will - band founder, backing (and occasionally lead) vocals, rhythm guitar, principal lyricist, tireless Spokespigeon and PR machine.
Kanami Tono - kah-NAH-mee - Kanamincho or just Mincho - lead guitar, keyboards, principal composer and arranger.
Akane Hirose - ah-KAH-neh - A-chan, the Gorilla - drums, sequencing, snacks, the leader the band doesn't have.
MISA - MEE-sah - the Barefoot Assassin, MISA MISA MISA! - bass, booze, occasional wet work.

Band Maid don't really have copyright issues, that's one of teh reasons they are so widely covered.
I have an order I introduce people to band Maid which is somewhat chronological so you can see the progression with the sound.
Real Existence > Non Fiction days > Don't you tell me > Dice > Blooming > Manners
If you want something Lighter then Daydreaming or Bubble are great
If you want something heavier Different or Rinne
My favourite BM songs not listed above are Choose Me, Afterlife, Freedom Live, Play Live and Warning.
For the record, Domination doesn't get into my top 25 band Maid songs, and it's a great song.
Oh Have you found the proverbial musical pot of gold here. You just don't know what you've stumbled upon. This THE BAND the most viewers want to see live. 5 of the best female musicians that are great entertainers. Fun on stage and as a group gel so well.
You see a sample of what Misa on bass,Kanami on lead guitar and Akane on drums have to offer but there's so much more.
Diversity and creativity are this band's trademarks. Everything from pop to rock to funk to metal, it's all there either in 1 song or between songs.
Band Mand and Lovebites are chalk and cheese. So different and you'll gather here which I think is the best.
For MV's, check out their newer releases in Warning! (great action packed clip), Manners (Unseen World), Daydreaming (so good power ballad), Choose Me, Rinne. Thrill was the original clip that broke the band to a wider market. 2M hits in 2 weeks and now over 15M 7 years later.
Live performances are best though. Real Existence,Onset,Dont you tell me.
Review more of The Maids and watch your subs and hits soar. There is a huge legion of Maidiacs in the world (over 66 countries,70% of their fan base) that absolutely adore this band. I kid you not. They're easily the best female band in the world today for their uniqueness.
Sure the outfits might stand out initially but the musicianship that takes over the show and you'll find that out as you watch their catalogue (over 100 songs now).
Don't look at the lyrics initially. They don't always translate well. Just take in the visuals and music. If it doesn't rock your body, it will soothe your soul. Band Maid is that type of band. Do yourself a favour. Watch more of their material. You'll realise this band has just opened a whole new world in music to you.
Warning! is a really good place to start as far as studio tracks.

Band Maid doesn't do copyright strikes if you do pauses every once in a while so pretty much any of their MV's will do.

BAND-MAID is a very special band, these girls have an incredible facility to make great songs, choose any MV and enjoy the trip, in my opinion many of their best songs are not in the MVs. Literally this band has taken over my playlist.

Band-Maid is an addictive band! I highly recommend Onset live. For MV Dice, Different, Manners. I've seen that they seem to let anything from their own channel go but I've seen others too. I think as long as you stop it once in a while, talk over it, and/or an overlay of the video you are fine.
One of their early ones Thrill is a good start, choose me is a favorit to. Freedom you need to do in the future, the live version of that song. You can pick anything from them you will not find a bad song. Here's some more tips: play, puzzle, different, about us, dice, cross and the list goes on and on.
Later on you need to listen to warning, manners and other songs from their newest album Unseen world.
About copyright, either you need to pause and talk during the song or you need to talk enough after the song, it's usually not enough just to listen and react you need to fill the video with your own content to. It doesn't bother me if you paus and talk or if you talk after. That's up to you, you will probably hear in the comments that you are doing it wrong however you do it. Good luck!!
Great reaction. For bass shredding, try the official live videos of "Onset", "Play", "Thrill", "Manners". Yeah, my initial takeaway from Band Maid was that the talent level of the lead guitarist, bassist, and drummer are off the charts. But, I was mostly blown away by MISA the bass player. Holy cow. She plays that thing like a lead guitar. As you go down the rabbit hole, and branch off into other web sites besides CZcams, you'll see live recordings of her bass work that's just mind-blowing. #TeamMISA
For MV's, the most entertaining one available on Band Maid's CZcams channel IMO is "Warning!" , probably followed by "The Non-Fiction Days". But, I am a sucker for pyrotechnics from my Kiss days, so I'm terribly biased.
For studio versions , "warning" is totally badass. Live, "No God" will make you appreciate Misa, the bassist. She just slays everything in her path in that song. And don't worry, as long as you take the live songs from their official channel, you should be good.
Welcome to the rabbit hole called Band Maid. No one escapes from it. Literally 100s of songs on their channel. Not a single bad one. Their older stuff is a bit more simple, as they were starting out... But their more recent stuff will destroy your mind musically..

I have been flooded with quite a few comments since putting this video up. I was expecting it though, after putting a Lovebites reaction up a couple of weeks ago. People in the comments for the Lovebites reaction suggested Band-Maid, and told me the Maidiacs would arrive, and they weren't joking. I know what you mean about not understanding the singer and just listening anyway, I have heard a lot of Japanese bands, and when they have a really catchy song that gets stuck in my head, it's funny, cuz I know the melody, but none of the words. Thanks for all the great suggestions. You're AWESOME!!
How they work: Kanami (lead guitar) composes the music, sending it (internet) to MISA (bass) and Akane (drums) for their lines. The lines pretty much stay as is through to the final song. When the music is done Miku ( vocals, guitar, and Band Founder) writes the lyrics with Saiki (vocals) now contributing to the lyrics. Then to the studio to finalize the song, with Saiki having the "We're Done" call.
They are the best Rock Band in the world right now. Highly Talented and True Professional Musicians!!
Just digging the surface, the pigeon hole is deeper and more complex than it seems at the beginning. Just a quick advise: Warning! Once in there's no way out. Pick any song at random from their channel and enjoy, that's the way it is with the maids 🤘🕊️

You mentioned that you saw the bearded guy from Lady Baby. Just in case you’re interested, one of the Lady Baby girls started her own rock/punk band. It’s called Brats. They have a few pretty good official music videos out. They also put out a ton of live stuff, but the sons mixing isn’t great on the live recordings.
Here's a killer song that seems to be almost a deep cut in the Japanese metal. I haven't seen anyone react to it yet. Features Fuki and Jill from Unlucky Morpheus (another great band)

There are literally thousands of Band-Maid reactions out there. Sometimes they block, but that's usually to do with monetisation. Typically they seem fine though.

When they gather round the drummer they pull faces to put her off - they really enjoy themselves on stage. On a stage with no plinth for the drummer, they gracefully kneel down so the audience can se her for her solo. They really appreciate their audience and each other. Best band in the world. Jimmy Page rates them highly and thinks the drummer is one of the best in the world.
A lot of musicians do stuff like that on stage, it's a fun thing to do. Try to mess the drummer up, or the singer. Hard to do in a band that is that tight, but fun to try. Hahaha. Or do what I did, get yourself electrocuted on an unground microphone mid song while singing. That makes the drummer lose timing pretty quick. I got thrown back against a wall, and burned the bottom 2 string off my guitar, but I was okay.

It's awesome that Japan is embracing Hard Rock, it's all but dead in North America. I can't really remember the last time a Hard Rock band outside of Asia had anyone talking.

I just discovered a new band in this Female Fronted Japanese metal called Ironbunny. You need to check them out if you haven't yet. I'm not sure if the guitarist is a female or not because they wear an Anime Powerarmor type suit.
We have listened to a lot of JROCK/METAL but not heard of them yet. I am gonna throw that on our list. Thanks so much for pointing them out.

In 2016, Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin caught a performance of Band-Maid in Tokyo and asked for a photo-op with their drummer, Akane Hirose. Reportedly he told her that she was like a reincarnation of John Bonham.
For those who don't know, BAND-MAID played in the Classic Rock Awards 2016 and received the Japan Next Generation prize. After the show Jimmy Page, asked Akane for a photo.

As far as copyright goes, Band-Maid is very reactor friendly. Just stick to videos released on the Official Channel, and they tend to let it all go through. It is a good practice to do as you did and pause every once and a while to make a comment or two.

My advice when it comes to progressing in music, is "Find your White Whale". Pick a song you want to learn SOOO bad, but it is way past what you are capable of and start to learn it at a very slow BPM. Get a difficult section learned, and start increasing the tempo. Best if it is hard to play, but also fun to play. You are probably aware of bass stuff that is hard as hell to play like Stu Hamm's stuff. If not check him out. That is around the level of difficulty I shoot for when doing this. Mine is a Steve Vai song called Eugene's Trick Bag.
LOL only if instruments can talk do you want to see the Life if a poor Drum set with the same issues Check out a girl from japan names Junna with her cover of Dragon Force though the fire and the flames. i can promise you 2 things will happen #1 you will feel sorry for those Drum's #2 that lil girl burns though so many calories in the video you swear you are loosing weight just watching her drum. She is fantasic for Guitars and youngling from japan is Sakura Yoshida another talented young lady form japan. there is so much content coming from there. love the reactions keep up the good work

Studio is not nearly as good with BAND-MAID. I totally recommend the live versions, they add so much more to their live performances and they obviously sound amazing live.
Yeah, it is usually more interesting to see these bands live. My reasoning behind hearing their studio stuff is that with very sensitive hearing, I get a chance to hear everything perfectly EQ'd and mixed, so I can hear each part far more clear and get also to give a much better listen to the vocals when they are not having to run around and perform. That gives me a really good basis. Unless the studio stuff is poorly engineered, which I don't see coming out of Japan much, that usually unfortunately happens far more often to North American bands on their first release, as the label is sometimes not yet 100% behind them yet.
@@CaptainFaceBeard totally understand. in my opinion their live performances are mixed very well, often times better than their studio version, plus the studio versions seem more tame.
If you wanted to hear them though, I would recommend Warning! which is also a MV. You could also go for After Life which is another MV. Both those are from their new album. Their song Different was also created for an anime intro so that ones pretty cool as well. A couple of other great MVs would be Blooming and Bubble.
@@johneg27 Thanks for the suggestions. I usually hold off replying to comments that have suggestions, because I screen shot them and save an image. It takes a while with these ones that get a lot of views, but someone had mentioned to check some of the MV's out on my own, cuz the Maidiacs are more interested to reactions of the live stuff, so I will check for an MV for Domination or wait till I have reacted to one that has an MV. YOU ARE AWESOME!!
@@CaptainFaceBeard All good,, totally understand. To be honest we consume pretty much all BAND-MAID content haha. We usually just recommend them live because it showcases their talent a bit more. A lot of songs are tough to find live in good quality but they have quite a few MVs on their channel. :D
Some of the fans can be a bit much but most are generally pretty cool and just excited to watch people discover this band that they love.
@@johneg27 That is the exact reason I started doing this. I wanted to know about music people loved, because I would end up finding new music I love. I even do some videos that turn the tables on that, and I instead show you a band I love. Usually that I don't hear people talk about. Also, if you haven't checked out a lot of my videos, I sometimes put a full Pirate costume on, and read song lyrics like they are poems. Not even kidding.

@@johngiaccardi2299 Thanks so much. I am in the province to the East of Quebec. It's a lotta small towns, a few cities, but nothing the size of Montreal. Saint John, is the largest city, and Capitol of the Province, it's also where Donald Sutherland was born.

Still not for me, especially the singer's voice, not rock at all. They got talent for sure, but this band is way too much overrated. I guess it suits more a pop and casual audience, certainly not a metal one.
