My late husband and fianceec would throw gift cards i. A drawer and not use them. I found over 300 in visa gift cards when hubby passed. Damn straight I used them for food and stuff I wanted.

I used to hide money from myself, i had a black jean jacket in my closet.. I’d stash my change in the left pocket. I saved $300 in there and forgot. I donated the jacket- money and all. I bet whoever found it, felt this excited lol.

When I was like 21ish I had just gotten custody of my then nieces. I had just gone back to college to study social work, living pay check to pay check and didn’t have the funds. The kids came with nothing, and the little they had were infested with bedbugs and 2 sizes to small. I had $50 to get them a few things so we went to the store. In the parking lot was a gift card for $150. My girls got new clothes and shoes and even got a new toy to cuddle with so they didn’t feel so alone.

Years ago, my son wanted to buy a Game Cube but couldn't afford it. They were on sale at KMart for $50. We walked out of the store and turned right onto a grassy patch outside. He looked down and found a $50 note, all folded up into a tiny square. We went back into KMart and bought the Game Cube.

I found a twenty five dollar gift card on the floor of walmart and 126.00 in a purse I bought in a thrift shop. I found after I bought it and I was still in the store. I yelled so loud the store asked what was wrong. Like a fool I told them .so it was on. They called the police on me for theft I said it was mine. Police officer said I was right. I had a receipt for purse, they tried to give me a refund. The officer and I just stood there. The officer told me to leave before they thought of anything else.
Goodwill is GREEDY they already get stuff for free. That was your $ free and clear, it's their oversight for missing it! Bastards. I can't stand that place. Everyone thinks they do all of this charity stuff and they don't! When have you heard of them ever donating anything or $ to anything local in your area? It's a for PROFIT business. They also take all of the really good merchandise (occasionally they miss stuff) and put it online on their own site (which is rigged for shill bidding) and auction it off to the highest bidder. And lots of the employees pick items and resale them online. They would of probably just pocketed the $. I would of called corporate over them trying to get it back from you.
Lol legally speaking, they sold you that $126 for however much you bought the purse. Doesn’t make much sense for them as a business when you put it that way but that’s on them for not noticing. Once they sold you the purse with the money, it became yours. 🤷🏻♀️
I know someone who purchased a storage bin. They found a JEEP in it after. The owner of the storage place tried saying they couldn’t have it. Threatened them with lawsuits. The police were called and told the staircase place that the papers state my friend owns EVERYTHING in the storage bin.

@@Doors067 it's a hit or miss, mostly miss. Shipping is pretty high. The deal is most people are under the assumption when they donate it's going to someone less fortunate, not sell it to the highest bidder..I wish they where just more open about it and people didn't think they are some big charity because they contribute very little to those causes. Even in store nice things are set aside and usually priced close to retail. Regular clothes and shoes are getting up there to. I can just about go to Ross or walmart and pay a few $ more for new.
When our kids were little we dived so the kids could earn money for their sleeping bags so we could back pack in the mountains. It took 6 weeks for our oldest to earn his but our Younger son on the first night we dived for him he found a paper sack with a sterling silver, turquoise bracelet, a hundred dollar bill and a bottle of whiskey. He sold the bracelet for $500.00 dollars, thereby purchasing his sleeping bag and his little sisters sleeping bag with money left over. He has continued this kind of luck for 40 years.

I saw someone drop a gift card and tried to give it back to them. They said there wasn't anything in it and to throw it away. I don't know why I kept it, but I did & when I checked the balance, there was $50 on it. I added it my kids Christmas gift fund.

Yep....ALL of the divers i know always clean the mess never make a mess. Are not loud and give to people who need stuff ...if they sell anything it's to cover gas costs or a bill that they are short on..others that complain are 100% jealous..👍👍😊😊

I was at the public library in high school doing a history project and found a visa gift card marking the pages of an old book. I pocketed it and forgot about it until almost 2 months later when I wore the sweatshirt I had on again, checked the balance out of curiosity, and it had $84.01 left. I felt terrible for the person who lost it, but I used the money left to buy a nice meal for my favorite teacher who was celebrating her 40th wedding anniversary with her husband ♥️

just a little psa since i work at bath and body works: when a customer uses a gift card and the balance is lower than $5 we are trained to give it to them in cash and throw away the card!! hence why there was so many with no balance lol

I wonder if they’re gift cards that the cashiers didn’t run through properly and it didn’t come off the card? Like maybe it took it off their bill but not off the card.. and the customer thought it was all used up and told the cashier to just throw it away? That’s my best guess!

My parents always told us to keep our eyes on the ground when we're walking. Especially at the county fair, state fair, and places where lots of people are. I myself and my siblings have found countless $10s, $20s, and change.

I was at the mall s few weeks ago and I got out of the car and there was a whole paycheck envelope on the ground I grabbed it and looked Inside and there was 800$ in it! I got back in the car and my aunt asked why and I said I just found like 800$ get back in the car we need to leave and we went home and I got to keep it all I helped my mom with rent and helped with Christmas presents for my little siblings this year!

She got home called me and was freaking out because she didn't realize it fell out of her sweatshirt pocket while getting in the car. I went and picked her up and we went back to where she was parked and it was gone. Thankfully the person that found it turned it into Security and she was able to get it back. Not only was her money in there from cashing her check but her debit card for her bank account, her driver's license and a couple of gift cards we had gotten her and our grandson for Christmas. You never know where someone is at in life and I'm sure you would want someone to return it if you would've been the one to drop it. I believe in Karma and it's always good to do the right thing no matter how bad you feel you may need it.

Many years ago, my dad been off work from major surgery. Christmas was coming up and my parents had bills to pay. They figured up how much they needed and prayed about it. That night we went to the mall to look at the Christmas displays it was one of our favorite things to do during the holidays. Just as we walked intoI to the mall, a couple of young men came running by and ran into my Dad. One of them dropped a paper bag. They never stopped, Dad took it straight to the security desk and told them what happened. They counted out exactly to the penny what my parents had prayed for. We left our info and about 5 days later they called and told my dad to come pick up the money. No one claimed it and there were no reported thefts at the store. Bills were paid, groceries bought and we had enough for Christmas also.

Love these videos...yes I saw a few orbs😊 Years ago my uncle gave me a birthday card at work ( I was a cocktail waitress) and later that night cleaning up I almost tossed it. A few years later I was going through a divorce and pinching every penny when I came across my uncles card. I flipped the card open and saw that he had tapped 50.00 in between the first page. I couldn’t believe it, that 50.00 helped me get to my next paycheck.

Ever since I was little I just picked up gift cards I seen randomly in the ground and checked the balance. But on Black Friday I was shopping at target and found a $20 Panera gift card on the ground. It was perfect bc I’m a broke college girl and Panera is right by my school 🙂

We lived in a tiny town and one day there were $50 and $100 notes all down the main road, my brothers, little sister and I all picked it up. It ended up being my grandfathers and our honesty was rewarded. It was a few thousand dollars worth, but we got money for being honest.
I loved cleaning out our wardrobes cause my sister and I used to put money in our pockets and it was like lotto day 😂

Gift cards you find are the reward for all the hard work you and Steven do diving for things to be given away.
You take the time to even clean some items found, whether it be washing/drying, sewing, steam cleaning, and donating.
All the things found are used for others to have for their own or even given to your friend the teacher who can pass some on to other teachers in need.
I do not find you greedy at all. Excited...yes! Happy...yes! Take it as it comes to you...its a reward!!

My mom always gives us lottery cards for holidays as a little extra. One time, it was way before payday and I was low on money, wondering what to do about groceries. I remembered the winning lottery card for a free ticket. I'm a paramedic and we sit in the ambulance on corners (😜). I ran into the gas station and turned it in. That ticket won me $50! What a blessing!

I never found a gift card but one time when I was living in Brampton Ontario I was walking home from work and this white envelop that had something in it. So I picked it up and just put it in my pocket. I thought I would look at it when I got home. Well I didn't think of it until the next day when I got a drive home and than we passed that same place I thought of the thing I picked up the day before! I open it when I was home and then went up stairs to show my Mum and Dad. Dad said what are you going to do with it? As there was over $25,000 dollars in it. First I called my friend Ken as he was a cop and asked him if he come come to our home.
I told him I found this and I don't think I should keep it as this is alot of money for some one to loss! So Ken took me to the radio station and I talked to them telling them what I found, they told me let's tell the people out in radio land and we will ask them if any of these people knows anyone that has lost anything that they would like it back. So I said don't tell them the amount of what it is as you will have people coming through the walls for this money.
With in 3 day this old man and his grandson age 12 came to the radio station telling them about him the old grandfather 93 lost this thing and they were going to go to the bank to put it in there but when they got there he know longing had it. The radio people called me and then Ken came and got me and we took the money to this old man and his grandson. I handed the money back to him. I told him alot of people I know of would have taking this money a spend it , but I am a Christian and I believe this was someones else's money not mine. They wanted to give me something for helping them out. I told them you can take me out to a good place to eat something if you would like. So we went to Dairy Queen and I have a Banana Split.

I found a fanny pack in the McDonald's drive through. Picked it up got my nuggets and took it home figuring it was empty. Well it had over 5000 in it. I did a little digging and found the lady who dropped it on her way to buy a new car. Same thing she wanted to reward me but I told her no it was just the right thing to do. Her son insisted on giving me 100 bucks said I would insult his mom if I refused. So I had a nice 100 bucks for myself. To this day don't regret it. My ex-husband told me I was dumb but well it always felt good to go with my instinct and return it. So I hear ya it's always the right thing to return things to their owners you never know where they are in life and how that loss will affect them. Great story

Steph is not greedy! She is Smart. Saving money, not just investing, is a large factor in having more money for retirement. Whether you use coupons, rebates, free things you’ve found or making sure that the fees your financial advisor charges are reasonable - all these things are important in saving. And - DO NOT go to a bank for advice on how to invest your money. Sales people make commissions on the products you buy from them. Major conflict of interest. They are providing for their own families; NOT yours! Keep on keepin’ on Steph!!!!

Woo-oooo- hoo! Got my dumpster sticks from Amazon in the mail today! My first dive the other day at big lots I found two box's, shoe box size of costume jewelry either from big lots or a small clothing store next door, and a large(tall pickle jar size) decorative glass jug with a spout. I couldn't believe how much was in there! On my second dive I pulled out 4 patio chairs I've been needing for a long time all brand new and no damage that I can see...So Fun!!!! and so glad I found you and Steve!

You’d be surprised what people accidentally leave behind at places unintentionally. I work at ihop and weekly our safes in the back are filled with left behind credit cards, gifts cards, id’s, cell phones, and even car keys (like how do you come there and leave without your car keys?) 😂 I don’t think they mean to sometimes you’ll just set them down and it’ll slip your mind to grab it again.

I found a gift card from Paperschase on the tube late at night. It was tucked in a newspaper. Not a promo with the newspaper. I took it home. Called them, this was the mid 90's. There was £150 on it. That's one of my favourite stores. 😀

Hi Steve n Steph 😁👋. I watch when you pick the gift cards up so I love to find out what you get for free 😆. When I was about 16 or 17 I found a little makeup bag full of money when I was getting out of my sister's car near the gutter it was about $8,000 😲🤪! My daughter was a few months old & I was a single teenage mom, raising her on my own. Her father was murdered when I was 2 months pregnant. I really needed help with her & it couldn't have come at the right time. God really watches over us 🙏🙌.

I found a gift card in the middle of Walmart parking lot and found a panara gift card. It was for 25.00. I was real happy

earlier in the year i found a box with about 12 gift cards in a storage locker checked them all and there was about $170 in balance on them the most was a $100 card for a local hardware store here similar to home depot i was so happy
and your not greedy in the slightest bit some people are jealous because your willing to do the work and reap the results of it.

My daughter has found several "gift cards" at our local amusement park to be spent at the park. Some only had a few dollars on them but 1 had almost $20. BTW-Steph, you're not greedy. The adrenaline just makes you happy & there isn't anything wrong with being happy. Kinda how you both make me and others feel when you share your adventures with us. EYL
