All of the guests clapping as the scenario is beaten makes me think they'll finally get to go home to their families and take a well needed bathroom break... But Lord Marcel is never so kind as that.
Listen, they were immortal beings that performed some sort of intricately choreographed dance ritual for over 1500 years, we couldn't have let them escape, the SCP foundation would have our heads!
It's been 1500 years - their families might have moved on

I think this is post-apocalypse by the end.
This feels like something from Dante's version of hell.
You're a guest and for centuries, maybe over a millennium, you find yourself endlessly wandering the path with your fellow prisoners, surrounded by broken rides and snack stalls that you are long since sick of. The Entertainers still wander the park, trying fruitlessly to amuse you even after centuries of the same costumes and the same dances. The Handymen ignore you pleas for help and continue to maintain the plants and clean the paths, as if you're not even there. The Security Guards wander almost silently, ignoring questions, only barking rebukes at 'vandals', the same rebukes repeated over and over. You haven't seen the Mechanics in centuries, some say they got out somehow, but you know there is no way out, the sign is undeniable.
Sometimes the urge will strike you try and do something else, to try and climb over the sign, to duck under it, to grab a Jetski and make for the opposite bank, to try and climb the fence out, but you never will, instead you will do what you have done for so very long... you keep walking.
Only after countless circuits are you finally presented the only escape you will ever be offered; as the sound of cheering comes from the sky, the ground simply vanishes beneath you, the water almost seeming to rise up to meet you all. After so very long, it is over and you can only pray that whatever comes next is kinder than whatever god did this to you.

I remember how I was browsing an NSFW site and being confused why "watersports" was an auto-blacklisted tag. "What's so wrong about water sports? Is it actually about drowning or something? I mean, gore is blacklisted too, so I could see the same being applied to drowning."

I would have loved to see you just remove the no-entry sign at the end and watch them all leave at the same time. Don't get me wrong, drowning them is fun, but this would also be funny to watch imo.

The real challenge in this run is preventing Windows from automatically installing updates and restarting the PC
OpenRCT2 runs natively under linux as well, which means that's one easy way to get around the problem. But you could simply load up the most recent autosave if you are dead set on windows, you wouldn't have missed much I'm sure lol
You can delay updates by seven days, and these can stack.
Is this funny, because people still haven't figured out how to get to the Windows Update settings to disable automatic reboots?
It's one of the first things I set up on a new system.
@@fonesrphunny7242 Yes, you can disable updates from installing as soon as they’re ready, but the system will still restart when it thinks you’re not active. My computer will even wake itself up from sleep to install updates, as it did the night before which is what prompted the comment.
@@funx24X7 If you deploy a certain Group Policy Object, you can disable the automatic updating entirely. Though on Home version of Windows you have to do it with workarounds, since the GPO editor is included only in the Professional and above.
Note to self: always elevate the station when over water and put a path under the exit.
Mechanics aren't that hard to replace. I don't know if they quite reach those 7€, though.

If you're fine with cheats, it might also work to disable clearance checks and build a path through the exit and the station piece that it connects to.

Those narration about the mechanics in particular really had me laughing out loud. "it's only a matter of time until we lose mechanic 1" "I regret to inform you that we have lost mechanic 1". Especially because I work as a customer service and uses the template "I regret to inform you" a lot at work

This is definitely one of my favorite parks in RCT2 just because it feels like it could be a real place
Just imagine some lord in Medieval Europe opened a theme park at the onset of the 6th century AD, only for his great-great-great-great-great-great-great-greatgrandson to close it 1519 years later. That's how long it took in game to complete this scenario.

This is for me by far the best video of you Marcel which is with storyline + challenge completion. You have really advanced yourself in making videos with a combination of entertainment, storyline, humour and still the very basic RCT2 gameplay with the will of always trying to push the limit. One could easily compare this video to your longest ever ride time videos to see how huge you have evolved. A great job done and a great great video Marcel, thank you for making this.

I appreciate how informative your videos are even for people who claim to be experts (such as myself). Interesting points that you made that i didn't know: guests contribute to park value, and guests will spawn no matter what happens, albeit at a very slow pace and thirdly mechanics have a chance to get caught in an exit and will fall and drown over water. It's always a good time watch a marcel vos video :)

The two separate groups of guests walking along seemingly random paths gave me SCP vibes.
Marcel, I've never played RollerCoaster Tycoon at all but, from watching all of your videos I decided to play it :D
Friend, you will not be disappointed 🙂 Just allow yourself to start small. If you can, start with the RCT1 scenarios - Marcel even has a video on how RCT1 has a way better difficulty curve than RCT2

They immediately go towards the park exit, but I wouldn't exactly call it "rushing" as they have zero energy left and walk superslow.
Man, I wasn't ready for the dramatic saga of Mechanics 1 & 2. Inspiring and tragic, truly.
This gives me the idea of doing something akin to the "A button challenge" for Mario 64 - Either a "minimum amount of actions" challenge or a "minimum amount of rides built" challenge could make for some creative strategies.

I was just dying myself near the end this video got better and better the longer it went on
I had four mechanics die on that scenario during a normal play through and had no idea why, so thank you for enlightening me. I thought it had something to do with the way the ride broke down maybe. Kind of like when your station brakes fail.
