- After having the Quest 2 for a few weeks now, I've been playing a TON of VR golf. So I decided to start a series of me playing the different courses in GOLF+ and see how we play and improve! I’m still playing on the lowest, I think, amateur, but I did have a -7 under par on an 18 hole game, the first course. I’ve never golfed a day in my life and I suck at walkabout mini golf. Golf+ is helping me improve my putting. I love Golf+!

Thank you!! Definitely focus more on swinging the club straight than trying to get power out of it. I only go back to about shoulder height and try to have the most level plane I can. Seems to work for me!
If you have a VR ready PC. you should check out The Golf Club VR.
I’ve look led at it a bit. I think I prefer the graphic style of Golf+ more but if they’re slow at releasing new courses I might have to give it a try!
It actually is a pretty realistic game, if you don't line up your body you are not hitting it straight, just like in real life, putting is also very realistic. The power is not as much but I don't expect it to be real golf, getting good at this game could help with how you align and stay center in real golf
Where VR is at it’s about as good as it can get in my opinion! Especially on the quest 2 all this being ran on a mobile processor is amazing.
I'm PGA pro. Do you think I can purchase it in order to have some fun or is too low realistic?
I take it the graphics in the standard Quest 2 experience (most people's experience I expect) r watered down a fair bit compared to using pc for power, graphics etc?
From what I’ve seen yes. I think it’s mostly because when you’re using the link cable through a pc your Quest 2 automatically adjusts the actual device to a higher resolution since it’s using the GPU.

I'm interested in this and it seems distances are pretty close to even tracman and you save 18k with the ability to play other games!
It’s definitely a fun game but the swing isn’t really that similar to your actual golf swing. It’s a blast and they’ve got a ton of features however I wouldn’t say it’s comparable to a simulator!

Nice video. I keep having issues with my stance and distance from the ball as my club length changes as I bend in or away. For example, if I take the default position and step back or in towards the lie, the club telescopes out and in. It's really difficult to know where I am in relation to the ball. Any pointers?

Usually before I hit I hold A to reset my position over the ball, that gets you as close to it as you can in the games eyes. Usually I have to take an actual step forward in my actual game space to get positioned where I want to be! The telescoping club unfortunately is just the way they have to do it so people at any height can play. But try taking a step forward irl after you re center. Hope it helps! 😁

visual are impressive but does it replicate the proprioceptive feel of the golf clubs for the swing?
I think for where we’re currently at with VR technology it’s close to as good as it can be. Obviously not crazy realistic but enough that you have to work to hit good shots.

How many golf courses does it have?
Currently 3 but they already have said they have many more in the works and are trying to get them rolled out as soon as they can!
Was this on beginner difficulty?
This was on amateur(medium) difficultly!
Good game but I have to say I like golf 5 e club, it is a lot more realistic.

You need to turn the power down. The game is notorious for being overly powered and you've turned it up 😂
Personally for me to get the distance the clubs say they’re going to go, I set it to around 120%. Works fine for me for the most part and I can actually count on it going as far as it says it will haha.

Yeah with that swing in real golf you wouldn't get half the distance you are in the game.
It’s a lot harder not being able to hold the controller like an actual club, so I adjust to what feels comfortable. Not what my actual swing looks like 😂
Wasn't trying to be rude just an observation as a golfer. I have golf 5 eclub and I hit it further in the game then real life because they overpower it for the masses. If I set it to 100% it's easy shorter than my actual distances. Haha

+10 Handicap would actually mean you give 10 strokes relative to par, aka you expect to shoot around 10 under par.

@@hunterp5252 no it isn’t. When someone says they are “10 handicap” they are implying -10 not +10. A +10 means you give strokes relative to par, aka you shoot 10 under, -10 means you receive strokes, aka you shoot 10 over
I dont know why but this game is so choppy for me when I look around
I have to restart it sometimes because it’s choppy but usually after a restart it’s fine. Also I have my oculus plugged into my computer through a link cable so that might improve performance for me!

Your playing on amateur mode so it makes the game easy and a lot less realistic
Don’t buy this game multiple times most of the time if you tape the ball it’ll fly makes no sense
Its a video game not a real simulator. It might not be for everyone but it keeps it balanced for everyone getting relatively similar distance to each other to make playing with other people more enjoyable. The skill aspect to this game is more short game and actually hitting it straight.

Like a kids game. PS3 Tiger Woods needs more skill than this and ten better. You'll soon get bored with this toy.

If you're a plus 10 handicap that means you average 10 UNDER par a round. If you're a ten handicap that means you average 10 over par.
