    So sad.
    Pity they're effectively lost to the world otherwise it would be a great thing to have asked him permission to be able to scan them to make replicas.
    Things of beauty, no matter what they are should be shared with the world.

      At present, there's 4or 5 companies around the world who make replicas. wood, and even plastic ones. Bobby's personal set is in the hands of an anonymous, private collector.

      If you want the EXACT replica, top class set, it will cost you top money, but it will be worth it. www.noj.si/?mod=catalog&action=productDetails&ID=191

      You are mistaken...do some research of what happened to Fischer before you sit in judgment of the man...

      @@johnnypastrana6727 Well. He refused to defend his title because he didn't think draws should count against the number of games played, then he disappeared, then he showed up to break the law just to play Spassky. Then he disappeared again and then called into Filipino radio stations to say he was happy 9/11 happened. Nothing happened to him. He did it all to himself.

    Too bad Bobby lost his mind-he was a brilliant chess master-he still had so much to give to the world.
    Very few westerners have become chess champions of the world-it's only:
    Steinitz,Lasker,Capablanca,Euwe,Fischer and Carlsen.

    Fischer was Jewish...so he probably hated the religious symbolism on regular Stauntons...it's not that he loved the Dubrovnik lol

    • @freedomfighter3404
      @freedomfighter3404 Před 3 lety +9

      Wtf are you talking about? Fischer loved the Dubrovnic chess set because he enjoyed playinf with it and for the reasons he mentioned. Stop trying to throw trash at Bobby just because you'll never reach his greatness. That's do pitiful. 😔

      I own a 1950 imitation Dubrov for it’s design that catches my eye, I could care less what Bobby had to say about it, we all like for different reasons, a classic Staunton is fine too, let’s appreciate the effort of Indian wood set makers which is crazy hard work.
