Im in the bloody snow! Straight from hot Australia to the freezing cold snow! I set out to build a survival shelter in the snow but its didn't go plan so we opted for plan B and it turned Into one hell of a day starting fire with nothing and cooking some crazy good food. ENJOY.

fun fact, and a 100% true fact....australia gets more area of snow each winter that covers an area larger than switzeland. swedes, norweigians and other cold countries dont know we have massive alpine region in australia. snow isnt new to us. we just outwardly advertise the sunny warm areas for tourism.
@@Smickster01 true but the difference is that australia is massive, the majority of the country is dry land. Whereas Sweden, norway and switzerland are all thoroughly covered in snow during winter.

Then I saw the beer "Zillertaler". I think, you're somewhere in Austria, maybe in Zillertal. Anyway, enjoy the snow and happy new year!!!

I guess Austria, those sausages are sold by Spar Austria and I think Mak10 is Slovenian. So I guess you are in the area around Villach in Austria and Bled in Slovenia. I have not finished watching yet. Love your videos. EDIT The beer is Zillertal which is near Innsbruck but can be bought anywhere in Austria.

As someone from the snowy part of the world, there is nothing quite like surviving out in the snowy, mountainy, forests! Canât wait to see more videos of you out in snow. As for the cold, you get use to it. Layers are key.

Igloo takes a very specific type of snow. Needs to be hard packed already. U can't pack it yourself. Another form we use is a quinzee. You take your shovel and make a large pile. Leave it over night to set hard. Then dig it out from the side

This is the first video where you seemed genuinely uncomfortable from the start and actually had to adapt to the environment. It's survival in a very different manner. I loved this. I want more Field Days snow videos..!

Man, you never fail to entertain us. Love watching your journies and love watching you challenge yourself. I have definitely thought to myself before, "what would field days do out in the snow or in some woodlands different from what he's used to?", and you've answered! Definitely want to see what you do about a shelter out there, but other than that, you killed it man.
When your melting snow, add a little water to the bottom of the pot if you have it. Speeds the melting process up so much! Itâs quicker to even melt a little first then fill the pot after. Awesome seeing ya in a new environment matt!

Freeze dried coffee secret: You can put as much of that stuff as you want. You can go beyond espresso with it.

Tip for building igloo: if you can't find good snow to make bricks, sometimes you gotta make a big snow pile, compact it, and then dig out the insides like a cave.
